At 21 I expect him to be fine and only one major injury so far. The rest have been short lived.
If I was in charge, I will pay a little extra to get him this summer or pay the release in January and keep him till end of the season.
I like Benoit though, and won't be against getting them both if the price is right.

That will be a very successful summer in my eyes.
May be add Grealish in January.
 
I think the club need so rude awakening here. Lindelof will never settle at United. He's slow, he lack physique and he's not good in air. Shaw is unreliable and injury prone, Williams is not a LB, he might settle on the Right but he struggles against his foot, Rojo, Jones, Bailly, Tuanzebe and Dalot are injury prone and/or they are nowhere near to United's level.

I understand that Rome wasn't built in one day and all that but if we start with that defence in the CL then we'll get murdered. Thus I'd say we should sell as many of those players as possible, we should retain Smalling and we should get at least a CB and a LB (possibly 2).

Too soon to write Tuanzebe off IMO. Some players grow into their bodies and have injury issues which clear up. He’s still young and worth persevering with for a little while.

As for getting murdered in the CL; we did very well against top teams this year and beat PSG 18 months ago. Our sit deep and counter tactics in big games seems to work nicely. Certainly not as naive as Barcelona or City have been.

Supposedly. You could put most any player in the top leagues to that list. We've never even enquired about buying the player. It's telling if a team has been 'interested' for years. Could have bought him for cheap X amount of years ago like we do lots of youngsters.

It was in response to Croady suggesting fans know better than the club. Not that he isn't a good player.

The player hasn't proven enough to even get ahead of Bailly or Lindelof as far as I'm concerned. I suspect the club think similar hence they've not approached him.

Are United not linked by every Journo from abroad with their players?

Like I said, I'm not opposed to the player. Just the fans that are always right and know best, better than the professionals at United.
 
Only one game and only seen about one half of him before watching todays game. He had a great touch to score the equalisin ggoal, looks to have all the physical attributes to become a very good centre back and looks decent on the ball, good weight of pass generally......

But not surprising considering his age, he is really rough around the edges and nowhere near ready enough to step in to our starting eleven. Considering we already have Tuanzabe all be it injured and Mengi coming through, see no reason to sign him this summer at least.

We seem to be gettign linked to these kind of players, Gabriel as well as cheaper young promising centre backs due to Sancho fees.

Bailly is a far better defender than Lindelof in my eyes, but you are right about Tuanzebe, potentially could be very good, but has to prove it in the Prem. I still don't get why we are supposedly after a CB, when we have Maguire, Bailly, Lindelof, Tuanzebe, Mengi and TFM, who is naturally a CB, plus Smalling, Jones and Rojo, two of whom I expect to be sold this window. Could be a case of agents once again using United to get their client a good move.

Just watched the highlights of Monaco vs Reims. I agree perfectly with you - very well taken goal but lot of rough edges.
His reaction times are very slow and at times I saw him caught ball watching.

I only watched the last 20 minutes. I saw him being caught ball watching too, Reims could & should have scored two goals in the last 20 mins. I think staying at AS Monaco another year is a good idea, I just don't see why we need to sign this 19 years old CB this year since we already have Mengi & Tuanzebe.

Because he is head and shoulders better than them both. Especially Tuanzebe simply doesn't even have the physique, dynamism and passing range to be compared to Badiashile.

Badiashile is a huge prospect but when Tuanzebe was in the first team at Villa he was a better player. Badiashile has all the attributes but still young and mistake prone. Monaco is a mess, rumors have him looking at Leverkusen which would be a good move, would be 3rd choice and still able to get a ton of playing time in a better team.

How to you compare mate? Tuanzebe was good because Mings was outstanding next to him.

It is hard to compare between leagues, partners and team shapes. Tuanzebe was able to bring the ball out with Mings next to him Lehigh made him look better. When I see Badiashile I see him being athletic enough to make up for being in a poor position. Again, he has all the attributes and is younger than Tuanzebe but when I saw Tuanzebe playing he seemed more composed and able to read the game better.

Even if he is, what is the point of signing a young centre back when we already have two. We already have huge numbers still selling the likes of Smalling/Rojo/jOnes. Adding another player that on todays evidence at least is going to take time to be a regular first team starter doesnt solve our problems. We need to sign somebody who can come straight in and improve our defence. I am no fan of Lindelof at all and I think Badisahile can possibly develop in to a top defender, he isnt ready yet though. I dont think there would be all these mentions of the likes of him, Gabriel etc if it wasnt for our possible lack of funds with SAncho being the priority

I am just feeling very down about the lack of signings at the moment. Also wishing we had US owners who actually gave a shit about what happens on the pitch rather than just off it
 
I wish we got a dof who was competent at working in the European and South American market and then we could spend our money way more efficiently with just a few tweaks. We have the basis of a great team here and we don’t need to sign world class players for every position. Sprinkling of a few more high quality up and comers and we are set. Anyhow I digress. This lad would be a decent signing if we are selling a few.

I think it was all based on some clip with Ole and Ake where the audio is not clear but that started the ball rolling.
We could have a world class squad but someone would still start a thread titled "We need blah blah blah" and then players would be put forward but it is something to talk about I suppose.

Because only 2 of them can be trusted to stay fit for a season right now. Mengi is unproven. Maybe he’ll be a very good centre back, maybe he’ll be in league 2 in three years, we just don’t know yet.

It’s all well and good having about 8 centre backs on our books, but look at the personnel - Jones, Rojo, Bailly, Tuanzebe, Fosu-Mensah. They are all incredibly injury prone. None of them have ever completed a full season in their entire career.
 
How do we rank him versus the other CBs we were linked with? Gabriel / Torres?
 
We’re trying to buy players from Dortmund and Monaco. They will 100% sell if we pay the money. We’re being stingy but you’d think we’d get a couple over the line by the end.
