Ben Yedder | Monaco set to activate release clause?

I don't actually rate him either but we've got about 7/8 positions we need to improve on and we also may have people leaving which only makes more.

Don't think we will sign a DM this summer.
They'll probably give Matic and Fred another go next season - given the amount of holes we have elsewhere. Id expect better from both next season especially Fred.

Are we finally after he right type players ?
If the price is right then a brilliant player to have for 3-4 years while Rashford and Greenwood progress.
This .
Yedder , Bruno , Van de Beek , Maguire , James and AWB this year whilst getting rid of Sanchez and gang .
Next year get a top Quality DM and Sancho when we are back in the CL . And personally I think that would have us going in the right Direction

Exactly.

Wan Bissaka and a top CB are paramount. The defence has been crap for far too long.

Van be Beek or Tielmanns to replace Herrera and Fernandes to replace Pogba is probably our best outcome now. Ben Yedder or Haller to replace Lukaku.

Next summer maybe a new DM and Sancho and possibly a new GK.

I've always thought Ben Yedder was underrated and a seriously talented player, but I'm sure I remember reading that he fell out of favour because of a really poor attitude. Not sure if that's the case but we certainly need committed players more than ever now.

You mitigate a large portion of our problems at the back by actually giving them proper protection. Playing Matic there will just incur the same issues as last season. Opposing midfielders will be given time and space on the edge of our box and we will struggle to play it out from the back. A new DM has to come in this season, has to.

Hope so.

I think when we look at catching city & pool it can seem impossible at first. Every other big name we're linked with seems possible only if they're willing to sign on for the wrong reasons - money. Add to that clubs lining up to gouge us on account of our desperation, super toxic mix.

I'd happily take two or three seasons making shrewd signings such as Ben Yedder, Lozano, Tah, Pellegrini etc, people who are a little more under the radar, hopefully more affordable - alongside some top youth to develop ala Van de Beek - make this club an attractive destination again for the right reasons.

No worries if we don't challenge for the top honours in the meantime, let's just focus on building something stable and positive.

I can't say I've seen enough of him to properly judge but this type of player seems to be a move in the direction of (dare I say it) a sensible transfer policy.

An ideal Lukaku replacement to bridge the gap between now and any of Rashford / Martial / Greenwood hopefully stepping up to the plate.

Yedder is another proof that some players don't star showing their potential since young age.
He's not a 30+ goal scoring striker, but his movement is so intelligent and his offball is very good which makes him a very valuable player.

Futsal turned footballer. Movement, stamina and finishing is innate with him. Massive change from Lukaku.

He's got that short stocky close control that's hard to get the ball off without fouling. Kind of like a poor man's Aguero.

A football manager legend who could make a decent second choice striker with a affordable release clause.

Seems good to me.

Think it'd be a decent signing. Probably bullshit story though considering all the briefings say ole doesn't want stop gap older players.
If there’s one position we could use a stopgap right now, it’d be striker.

Or maybe RB. Or CB. Or DM. Or...eh, never mind...

I love him.

A rather reasonable release clause. The deal as a whole would make sense. Hence, no chance of happening.

Ben Yedder and Sebastien Haller being bought together would be the way forward IMO. Haller would provide something that we badly need as far as hold up play and bringing others into play and he's very good in the air.

Mason, Ben Yedder, Haller, would be three good striking options.

Rashford?

Lukaku looks like leaving. One striker has to come in. Preferably a more experienced one, the others are all still very young. Ben Yedder would fit the bill if we want to keep the ball on the floor

If it wasn't for him we might've never discovered our football erritaj.

As a former football and futsal player, I can tell you the tactical discipline @ futsal is much more vital than @ footbal. If a player fails, 1/4 of the field players is out of the play.

Aguero is, IMHO, one of the greatest players of the last decade. So having a poor man's Aguero would actually be more good than bad. :D

Not surprising that Solskjær is a big fan of Ben Yedder. His movement is intelligent and he's a composed finisher. Just what we're lacking.

I'd flog Lukaku & sign up him & Haller ideally.

Striking positions then sorted.

Get Haller and Ben Yedder, with the sale of Lukaku and hopefully Sanchez.
Flock James to the left to give some width.
Rashford will start once he gets over his winning goal against PSG. Martial can come off the bench when the opponent is tired.

Fernandes and Van de Beek will cost at most 120 mil together.

James, Haller, Ben Yedder, Fernandes and Van de Beek will all combine their effort to win the ball back, I have no doubt.

Sell Pogba, and use that entire transfer fee on Maguire and Wan-Bissaka.

Sell De Gea, Rojo, Darmian, Bailly and Pereira. Release Mata. That should be enough for Partey and Onana.

Haller is not good enough. He hardly made an impact in the Dutch League at Utrecht. If we get Ben Yelder then we have him, Rashford, Martial and Greenwood. Enough

9 Players that have never played together before? That will end well.

Also, buying Ben Yedder to shunt him out on the wing?!

So replace everyone except Shaw & Lindelof?... but keep Woodward.

Not sure Haller would be any use in PL. Might as well go for Mitrovich who we know causes problems to defenders with his physicality but not the sort of player Utd usually have. However, I can remember when we bought Joe Jordan from Leeds and I thought " What? " but he turned out to be a skilful player although very physical. Can't think of that many players in PL now who rely on their physical attributes, not as forwards at least.

Agreed.

Not particular fan of Haller. Ben Yedder on the other hand with low release clause seems like a good deal.

He will improve us and bring another dimension to our attack.

That's a proper FM lineup. James is not ready to be our main LW, Ben Yedder is not a RW, Haller is downgrade on Lukaku, Maguire is meh, we would criminally lack width again as neither Shaw nor AWB can provide it. This lineup is good for TOP 6 challenge, not much more.
