That was my pick. You were better off asleep
In hindsight - yeah. Not sure that it's fair to change the rules as the draft goes, including the likes of Bican who would've been picked earlier
I'd say post obscure player profiles in here. I'm not playing so might miss some of the matches but I'm following the thread to learn about some of the players so would be good for me to be able to read up on a few of the more interesting ones.
I'll wait till everything is set and done to post profiles and probably we can then threadmark it @harms ? It will be easier to read/go through rather than have it on 20 different pages.I second this, and not just for obscure ones. This thread should be a go-to for reading up on Eastern European players and I've seen nothing so far despite many picks that merit a proper intro.
No one digs up gamethreads hoping to find good stuff (OK, not if you aren't a research bot).
Yep, will transform the sign-up post into the write-up links.I'd suggest post profiles as and when ready.
We can just collate the links and add it in OP or 2nd post.
Just add more threadmarks. The fact is we all have plenty of time to read and write in between picks during the couple of weeks that drafting will take, while nobody reads all the walls of text once drafting is over and the draw is done, let alone comment or add snippets.This. Don't want them scattered all over the thread.
Good man.Yep, will transform the sign-up post into the write-up links.
I'll post the links in the special post at the beginning of the thread and also threadmark the write-ups if needed, just tag me when you'll post them, now or laterI'll wait till everything is set and done to post profiles and probably we can then threadmark it @harms ? I anyway know more or less the same about these players as anyone else does, I posted a brief paragraph on Streltsov's playing style when I made the pick, could probably have copied the entire wonderful Jonathan Wilson article he wrote on him calling him the greatest Russian player ever but that's about it.Just add more threadmarks. Exactly! That's why you don't wait until the end and suddenly chuck in dozens of profiles. Each submits their own (wouldn't mind the Wilson article, it's not like I'll google each player and find such material exists). That gets the ball rolling and if people have anything to add they'll be more likely to do so if you scatter the discussions as opposed to creating a sudden peak of activity when everyone is more focused on their own teams, tactics and profiles.I anyway know more or less the same about these players as anyone else does, I posted a brief paragraph on Streltsov's playing style when I made the pick, could probably have copied the entire wonderful Jonathan Wilson article he wrote on him calling him the greatest Russian player ever but that's about it.
It is why I asked Enigma or harms or whoever that has any good insight on the picks while they're being made to share them publicly and make this a collective learning experience, which is what I'm here for.
Probably the reserve all-time?I think I had a big write-up on Streltsov somewhere here already
Which draft was it when we picked him and Leonidas, do you remember, @Annahnomoss?
