With the news that Becks has turned down a deal to return to Everton because he is a Manchester United fan, it got me thinking that I would really love for him to come back to United for one last hoorah on a short loan spell after Christmas. He could still add a little something off the bench in terms of set piece delivery, and even with his age, I think he would still do quite well in the premiership.

I think this would be a positive move for everyone involved, and Beckham deserves a swan song given his emotional attachment to the club.

I think Fergie is too proud of a man to even think of this loan move. I would love for it to happen though. It would be a tremendous morale boost for everyone at the club.

I love the fact that he still says he can't go to any other English side... he definitely deserved his rousing standing applause from Old Trafford... one of the most moving moments of last season.

With Valencia out till February, he could be a valuable option on the right for big games if we want to rest Nani.

how about we get dennis law out of retirement? It won't happen. The kids have role models and inspite of Valencias Injury, we're in decent shape

how about we spell a legend's name properly?

white text... just in case it all goes wrong and I need an out.

I'd prefer cleverly back to be honest

Beckham is a united legend but can't help but think it would be a massive distraction with all the media bullshit

Fergie won't want the beckham media circus hounding us, shame because as a player he wouldn't be a bad addition to the club also the chance of giggs, scholes, neville and becks playing in the same united team 15 years after they made their debuts for the club would be a nice touch.

Ya know that feeling when you love a video game that you played years ago, but when you booted it up again you were surely disappointed by how much it had been surpassed.....

Shouldn't have played it again :(

You happen to be right though there's denis and dennis which is similar to my middle name

Your white text indicates your an old fart who's not heard of google and therefore i'll take satisfaction in the fact you probably smell :D

He has not been picked for England, if he can't improve that shower of shite he's hardly going to improve United.

Can't people just let this go ffs...

I rather have Roy Keane back to stick a rocket up the midfield than Beckham back to do anything...

I would absolutely love it. Would be brilliance. But, I highly highly highly doubt it'd ever happen.

But if it did, cock would be out.

I'd take him on a short January - May loan. We've been awful at set-pieces for ages, but in saying that, Beckham would likely not get that many chances in the first team anyway.. So getting him for that probably wouldn't be the best move. I guess he could play against the lesser sides on the right, or as part of a 3-man midfield.

I'd still accept it, anyway, but it's not something we really need to be begging for.

Don't think he can perform at the level we'd need him to anymore.

Would he need to?

From an inspirational point of view it could be worth more than money could measure. Think of the impact he'd have on the youth players not to mention how much the emerging talents like Bebe,Obertan,Da Silvas could learn from him.

Remember we signed Larsson on a short term contract, proved to be a decent move.

He wouldn't get near our team.

Well said...now please lock this thread & lets move on to something more realistic like me being poster of the year, which I've got as much chance of winning as Becks has of making an impact at United.

Mind you if the Beckham lovers vote for me, I would be persuaded to join you in the general love in...

Becks for United! :nervous:

Yeah, let's lock this thread. Why let people talk about something that they'd like to happen, even though it probably never would? God, forums are so annoying like that.

As said, he would be a complete moral boost for the whole squad, especially the young players. Could teach OberBebe so much. And if we're not winning, get him on in the last 15 to keep pumping crosses/corners/freekicks into the box. Still has a perfect delivery.

Really? He's not a step above say Gibson? On his day he could still be every bit as effective as Scholes is, he showed that during his time at Milan, and no-one is saying he should be dropped. Of course he'd have to be played through the middle as his days on the wing are long gone.

Personally though i still think we shouldn't do it.

Gives us a break...that really is an insult to Giggs, Scholes & Neville

He probably doesn't fancy a move back to the PL. His legs have gone and he looked half a yard off the pace in Serie A.

He's better off not bothering. If he comes back to England he'll be a shadow of the player he was. Why spoil the legacy?

Why? Giggs and Scholes are both better players than he ever was and the likes of Nani and Rooney are superstars in their own right.

Its not as if the club needs a morale boost anyway.

I don't get it. One of the main reasons why he fell out with Fergie is still present in Beckham's life, so what makes anyone think it'll end differently or on a happier note 2nd time around
