The cross fence at Newbury is an obstacle that Denman loves, and sure enough he flew over it again. I think McCoy then decided to switch him off a bit and the horse lost concentration. If you look back at the Hennessy he won in November it was after the fence he made a mistake in today that he really started to leave Niche Market behind (when that horse was in receipt of 26lbs of course)

The horse has become a bit more of a character as he's got older and for me he needs keeping to his work so trying to switch him off at any stage is a recipe for mistakes. At Cheltenham next month McCoy will need to be at the top of his game.

Big mouth Findlay should swallow his pride and reinstate Sam Thomas if he has any realistic ambitions of winning the GC. Wrong jock,simple as. Connections deserved nothing more but feel sorry for the Tank.
 
I think the jockey situation is being well overstated. The interesting thing about the market for the Gold Cup is that Kauto Star has gone odds-on for the race because of Denman's reverse and yet the likes of Cooldine and Imperial Commander are trading around the same odds. They should have come in as well.

This year's renewal is better than last year, it will be run at a faster pace and the favourite has to be taken on at such cramped odds. I backed Denman months ago and will also add Cooldine now.

Useless. Was flying coming round bend but Fallon was poor.
 
Just a quick heads up, Murray's at 4/7 to win no grand slams this year at BlueSquare and 888.com, and 9/4 to win at least one on with Coral.

If you bet on both you're guaranteed almost a 6% profit on whatever you put down. Might be worth it if you've got money you won't miss until mid September I'd say.
