Batman Arkham Asylum

I'm on the Botanical Gardens as well. How much more is left after that? I'm afraid I'll finish it too quickly, only been 4 days.

Also, Paul Dini wrote the script if I remember correctly, so the villains are probably true to their origins.

Got it, loving it so far, feels like a game I will play until its fully completed too which is a bonus.

Think I'm gonna get this myself, enjoyed the demo and everyone in here seems positive about it too.

I would say you have about 3 hours until the end, if you take your time, meandering about.

Just beat it. Bought it Sunday afternoon, and I've put about 15 hours total into it. Haven't done all the Riddler stuff, although I'm about 60% through on his quests.

Here are my only issues. The storyline started out strong, but never really fleshed out. It was pretty straight forward. The Villians, while adding to the story, never really added that "umph". Bane and other villians I thought could've been given more game time instead of an hour or so. The game itself, if you roll straight through, can be beaten in about 8-10 hours. I hate games this short, but I know how the industry is now days, and getting a 50+ hour Batman game would be fecking impossible, albeit very welcomed from me.

Still, that being said, I love it. Plain and simple, this is the Batman I know and love. I'll play this game through one or two more times to get 100% complete, and I'm sure I'll take more time going through to see little easter eggs they've thrown in there.

My favorite parts were definitely the Scarecrow scenes. There's a particularly cool part where I almost shat myself and freaked out. All I'm going to say is this: When you think your game disc is fecked and skipping, just wait it out. ;)

I'm just on my way to the botanical gardens, loving it so far. The joker's voice and character is done to perfection and the riddler challenges are addictive, i can already see myself searching for all of them. The combat is a little repetitive though and i don't think it's worth the ridiculously high scores it got, but it is still a great game to pick up and play.

85% complete, all the Riddler's quests are done. All I need now are to defeat the challenge mode for the final achievements. The Freeflow Combo Perfection achievement is a bitch.

Completed the game this evening. Quality. Great game, and although its short, I can see DLC coming along with a few new additions. I'd love for a bunch of missions based on the scare crow type game, with increasing difficulty.

Story line is ace, but found the final scene, a bit cliche.

Oh and you don't get to drive the bat mobile :(

But other then that, a great game.

Assassins Creed meets Splinter Cell mixed with a hint of Doom 3 and Tomb Raider.

Pretty potent and fantastic combo if you ask me. 'not that you are'

At times, you'll find yourself at awe and others times frustration, as the game doesn't overly explain how to do certain things or give directions.
Needless to say, the game is ace and really fun to play. Never short of some baddies to beat up, and gadgets are pretty cool.

A part that annoys me, is not being able to perform as many silent drop kills as you'd like. This for me is where Splinter Cell is slightly better, in the way that you have the ability to be far more crafty in the way you kill people.

I should think the Jokers voice is perfect, its Mark fecking Hamill !!! The man who has been voicing him for years!!

I've been giving the challenge mode a go and i've got to say the predator mode is pretty fun. Combat mode on the other hand might take me a while to get better at.

Just got the Predatory Gold Achievement, off to finish the Combat Challenge rooms to get 100%. Sitting at 93% now, but the combat pisses me off because even though it's a button masher, you have to time your hits and stick movement to maximize combos. I'm much better at stealth kills. I might have to bust out SC: DA because Batman has me in a stealthy killing mood.

Yeah, i've got the predatory gold, but not going to get near the combat one. I'm always getting hit and i don't think i'm going to be getting that anytime soon.

I've just finished it, must admit I thought it was a bit repetitive.
Also, I constantly used the detective mode, as that was a lot more efficient, so I couldn't really appreciate the graphics.

Yeah i turned it off once when you went back into the mansion when it was infected by the plants, and the graphics were pretty damn good. I was so used to the whole game looking blue by the end of it that i thought it looked weird with it off!

Yeah, I did the same. I had to make a conscious effort to not use it when I wasn't investigating. They should make it so it has a power meter or something ... like you have to let it recharge or something before you can use it again, or you can't move while using it.

Just got this. Told my self i'd wait till it dropped in price, but couldn't resist any longer. So used some game points and traded in Fifa 09 (£3 fecking quid! Should have kept it) and i've been loving it. I also made a point of not using detective mode too much after reading this thread.

One thing i'm dissapointed by is that i seem to by flying through the game. I've played about 5 hours, and i'm already on my way to killer crocs lair, which i will assume is very far. The replay value is there though, just for the sake of getting 100%. There's not many games that make me wanna do that, i don't like to get obsessed with little things like that but this game just makes me wanna do it for some reason. Zelda games have been the only games i've ever really been bothered about doing it on.

Yeah you are pretty far in. After Croc you basically have about an hour or so left if you just blast through. I took a bit longer as i was going after the riddler challenges, but i did a speed run on hard and finished the game in about 5 hours.

only 5 hours? You've done well

It's a good game, I just don't like everyone calling batman..'bats'. I never read much of the comics so not sure if that's what they do but it's kinda annoying

Brilliant game this, the only fault it has is that it's too bloody short.

I got this yesterday for PC. So far (7% into it) I'm pretty impressed, really well presented and the control is pretty slick and satisfying, combat looks brilliant. But it seems a little too simple at times and it's very linear and repetitive. I'm thinking of playing on a Gamepad in case it's the Keyboard/Mouse combo making it so easy. But early days, still fun.

Well turns out im not actually there yet. I said my next step was croc's lair, but i've ended up having to take a massive de-tour because of all these plants and shit. So i might not actually be as far as it seemed.

Brilliant game, completed it a few days ago and had real fun playing it. Really my type of game, am sick of all these first person shooters and this was a good change. Going back and collecting the riddler trophies now which I'm also quite enjoying.

Finished it. Loved it. Must have a sequel!

Boss fights were a let down.

I want to fight the joker, as him being the actual joker, not some roided up version where you don't actually fight him, just a million of his thugs then hit him once every now and again. Pretty much the formula for every boss fight there was.

Also, i loved the scarecrow levels, but they could have done a lot more with him i think. Would have liked an actual boss fight with him.

Probably saving those for the next time, you are right though this game simply must have a sequel. Going to be hard to top this one though. They could make it a bit longer though, felt this one was a bit on the short side.

I'm a bit late to the party but I love this game. Got it and completed it a couple of weeks ago and now I'm going through all the riddles.

Great fun :D

I just started playing this yesterday. Awesome so far.

I bought it last weekend on cheap, thought I'd give it a chance and surprisingly I love it - I'm not a big fan of Batman and those superhero games usually bore me, but this one is really cool. I'm only at the beginning but it doesn't seem like it will last long, already 10% and the story apparently ends at 60%, so I'm expecting another 7 or 8 hours of gameplay before I finish it but I'll enjoy it.

Combat mode is fantastic really, and I like the way everything is simplified - they had so many ways to feck it up, yet they kept it all simple, you can grasp controls in half a minute, so it's really fun to play.
