Barcelona's Keita could be set Manchester United move

Not a bad option to have, but at his age and the wages he'd possible be on, think Fergie would prefer a much younger guy coming in. I would understand if one of Giggs or Scholes didnt re-sign for another season, but the deal makes no sense when you think about it.

We need a powerful centre midfielder to fill the void Fletch's injury troubles have left. If Darren fully recovers and gets back to what he was in 2010 before his condition really deteriorated we don't need to sign anyone but if he doesn't we need someone else. There are few choices out there better than Keita. Give Fergie more time to run the rule over Fletch too and see if he's ever gonna really recover.

In other news apparently Afellay is available for 6 mil according to Talksport. Liverpool and Spurs linked

Don't really know why they signed Afellay in the first place.

Would be a good addition for Spurs.

If he is on a free, couldn't hurt us to get him for a season or two as cover for Carrick.

be interesting to see where he ends up.

It would if it stopped us buying someone.

If we are going to buy Moutinho, he still ain't a cover for Carrick because the former is not a defensive mid. Instead of buying any more strikers, we should just stock up on midfielders so we can deal with injuries during the season.

Obviously, but he could have gone to a top club in Europe and earn £100k a week and win trophies. It's sad to play in China knowing his talent.

Off to China apparently  From training with Messi & co to a bunch chinese nobodies ...

Well he's with Drogba, Anelka and what's-his-face-I-think-he's-Serbian. The Chinese league is growing but I think they need to follow the MLS model. They're sitting on a football bubble. Plus massive corruption.

I like Keita. He would be decent here if he wanted. He's got the skillset to be playing in Europe still. No need to go all the way to China for a few extra bucks.

When I saw Keita play I always thought he was technical a step down from nearly everyone in the squad. There you go.

Keita, el termòmetre moral i ètic de Guardiola, s’acomiada del FC Barcelona amb 14 títols i sense una mala paraula

14 titles, never a moan for the benches.

I don't see how he can be seen as more of a defensive midfielder than Moutinho, he only played as a holding midfielder a handful of times thanks to Busquets. He's averaged a goal every 4 starts ever since he's been in Spain and that's because he's played relatively high up the pitch. He's hardworking and combative but I'm not convinced he'd be suited to being Carrick's replacement. He could be good alongside him, though.

If he's leaving Barca because he spends too much time on the bench why would he go to Utd to sit on the bench?

The last thing we need is another ageing midfielder.

Whose going to pay him 100k a week? Decent squad player in a brilliant side. Seems no top clubs wanted him.
