Barcelona Sign Aleix Vidal

You need to read up on Schengen because you are coming across rather clueless.

You are coming across as butt hurt as we seem to win more than you.

Barcelona are still able to sign players this year as long as they are not registered before January 2016, FIFA have confirmed to Sky Sports News HQ.

I think the point is that Barcelona can get around what should be intended as a punishment. As it stands, it's not much of a punishment at all.

They've done nothing wrong, yes. Still a bit of a joke tbh.

Its an utter and complete joke.

If all I cared about was winning, I would simply have chosen to be another gloryhunting Barcelona twat like you. It's not an accomplishment to be a Barcelona fan. You didn't do anything except log onto a forum and chat shite. People who take their self worth from whether or not the sports team they like wins a game are massive idiots.

Okay, but before it was lifted it was intended to be an actual transfer ban, was it not? Not a registration ban.

Wrong. It was the same as ours, just the media likes to title it otherwise. Here's from the actual ban statement:

"A restriction of four months on his eligibility to play in official matches is imposed on the player Gaël Kakuta while the club FC Chelsea is banned from registering any new players, either nationally or internationally, for the two next entire and consecutive registration periods following the notification of the present decision," the DRC statement said. "Furthermore, the club, FC Chelsea, has to pay to RC Lens training compensation in the amount of €130,000."

Wrong..

FIFA allowed Barca to sign players, but can't register them.

Nothing to do with EU movement or whatever the logic is.

I know that, what I'm telling you is that a transfer ban is a registration ban because it's illegal to prevent someone from working in Europe. And that principle comes from the Right of free movement.

23 Transfer ban
A transfer ban prevents a club from registering any player during the period in
question.

The punishment does exactly what it supposed to do, though. It prevents Barcelona from using new players before the next transfer window.
Exactly. Im not sure how some see this as an issue.

What are you doing here then other than talking more shite? I don't go to Arsenal-related threads and troll like you doing here.

I stand corrected. I always thought theirs was a transfer ban.

I don't troll in the football forums. In fact, I haven't even expressed an opinion of whether the ban is just or not. I simply educated you on why the ban is applied to most of the world and not the EU. To which you responded by calling me "butthurt". I suggest you take a step back and reevaluate how we came to this point.

So what was Chelsea's ban a few years ago then?

Theirs was a proper ban, not this nonsense.

Yep an English team got a proper ban... No shock there.

They shouldn't be able to sign players period.

They weren't, they got a registration ban that have been lifted in appeal.

Chelsea had a registration ban just like Barca do, no difference

He always seemed to play on the left wing for Almeria when i seen them play, scored quite a few too. Haven't seen him since he joined Sevilla though. Rapid rise so fairplay to him like.

My guess is that the ban would have been taken more seriously by everyone if Barcelona was also denied the right to negotiate any in-transfers until the period covering the ban has expired. Anyway, that concept of transfer ban is a joke considering how those loopholes exist.

Off course you are jealous, no need to hide a simple fact. You feel we shouldn't make any signing, which we can. My assesment about you is still the same.

That would be silly. You can't stop people from negotiating. It just seems like criticising for the sake of it. I didn't even think they'd get the punishment of not being able to register anyone. That's the main purpose really, so no one new can play for the team. Barca could have agreed with Seville to transfer him in jan anyway.

Because it completely undermines the point.

If you're going to have a punishment it should actually stop you from doing what it sets out to do.

It makes a mockery of the whole thing.

If you're going to ban them, ban them completely. The whole point is punish them and make things difficult for said club. They shouldn't be allowed to register any players, it's a flipping joke. But then again FIFA are a joke too.

We're not allowed to register. Jesus Christ.

Still a joke, I think people are trying to say that a proper punishment would be not being able to sign any players full stop.

I demand the Uefa to strip you off that treble.
And transfer Neymar and Messi to us too. That'll teach em.

Back on topic of Vidal, I kept getting confused watching him in their semi-final with Fiorentina, because I was sure the commentator said he was the RB, but he was definitely playing as a right forward. May as well just start saying Barcelona are playing the old 2-3-5 than 4-3-3.

 It will never end.

 this is brilliant. I think another 200 times and someone will get it.

Surely it's not that hard to grasp

What's the difference? He won't play till then. Besides, you can't simply stop clubs employing players.

I'm sure you'll understand more when it's your turn :)

Fecking hell, the outrage in here over absolutely nothing is astonishing, it really is.

Yeah, I mainly saw him play as a winger. I'm curious to see how good he is.

Actually I understand why people are upset, the sanction is called 'Transfer Ban' when it's a registration ban, so people got excited when the press used the legal term but now that they now what it really means, they are outraged and think that it's a conspiracy.

He did play as RB against Fiorentina and was great. He's like another Alba, who got converted from a winger to a fullback. Vidal though only started playing as RB this season, and if I'm not wrong during the second half of this season. So the 4 months may be a blessing in disguise as well.

That's probably why. Though reading a couple of sentences are not that much of an ask.
