Barcelona: Charged with corruption .... again!

As someone who works at a rating agency: BBB- with a negative outlook is an absolute warning from the agency. Without improvement, they will fall from investment grade to junk status and this will close many sources of money.
But probably some fans will again tell us that we are misinterpreting everything and that everything is going great.

BBB clearly stands for "Bravo, Barca, Bravo!"

"The Negative Outlook also reflects the risks associated with the upcoming stadium refurbishment, which will force the club to temporarily move to a new smaller stadium and materially reduce capacity of the well-known Camp Nou stadium, until the refurbishment is complete. Furthermore, a delay in construction schedule could lead to lower-than-expected revenue. These works are expected to be financed without direct recourse to FCB and we see the refurbishment as positive for the club. FCB has confirmed that it will not be liable for any cost overrun on construction, but Fitch notes that the details of the construction contract are still to be finalised."

What could possibly go wrong.

Sure, l understand the tax guys will advice the club on the financial and legal aspects, specifically surrounding taxation. My point was for LaLiga to accept/reject something, that would be in adherence to the prevailing rules and not some random decision. To that effect, surely the club had experts think of this as a possibility and prepared their advice accordingly?

The issue here though sounds like Barca paid some of their money, possibly to inflate the deal and that money will now be subject to tax. Surely they (the club) knew before agreeing to this about the tax implications? Was this the of a calculated risk gone wrong? If it was, then the new admin isn’t really as competent as people seem to be giving them credit for.
have you translated the original article - it gives a decent explanation and also there is a quote from the president suggesting something along the lines of we hope la liga apply the same interpretation
Later Laporta in Manhattan said that "667 had been counted" and "that he hoped there would be no differences of interpretation with LaLiga".

Barca are a basket case, a bit like this Country at the moment. This FDJ saga has gone on for four weeks too long and United should have walked away and gone for their second option, assuming they were smart enough to have a second option. If he does sign, don’t expect a turn around in form because that won’t happen. Come Christmas we may be 8th or 9th which, on yesterday’s form, would be a result.

All Barca had to do was manage the club sensibly and they were set, they could even afford to be dumb at times and it would of been fine but instead they done this

It's weirdly comforting that even as shambolic a state as we are in as a club, there is always someone worse.

If Barca do need to generate the €144m from you know actual real deals then there is a few interesting weeks coming up

Somebody is going to get themselves some bargains... we should reduce any FDJ deal by £3m a day until we are just offering a loan with us paying half his wages

Personally I'm going to find it hillarious if they have Kounde, raphina and lewendowski sitting in the stands whilst Pique, depay and Aubamayang are playing (presuming they can drag Pique out of Gavis mum for 90 mins)

There is one more possible lever. Would anyone put it past Barcelona to accuse the Spanish FA of not registering their players for internal Spanish political reasons?

Why should they? 2/3 of LaLiga face the same problem barca has, just no one outside spain is talking about it, because barca is the new drama klick baiting magnet. Out of 90 signings so far, there are only 35 registrations. Teams like FC Sevilla, Betis Sevilla and Villareal with a more or less healthy debt ratio have to sell their best players for a dime to register other signings. Tebas's ffp rules just cripple the league, that's a fact. I expect this season a far weaker LaLiga in comparison to the PL.

Barca doesn’t pay the money owed to its players. This is not a fact in dispute anymore. If you really sued him then it’s not even “back room” pressure anymore.

It is codified into a legal argument that Barcelona should be able to change legal agreements with employees whenever they change things in their front office and decide they made bad decisions. It’s insane really.

Barca taking the 9 shirt away from Memphis and giving it to Lewandowski... what a shambles of a summer and yet no one talks about it? Just taking the shirt from a player to give it to a new shiny toy. Didn't they do the same thing to Braithewaite?

Laporta: "Here is your new shirt Memphis."
Memphis: "Thanks, what number... wait, why is there a shit emoji instead of a number at the back?"

Have they? You don't find it odd that they have not registered most of the players they bought yet?
Because I can feel the feckers finding a solution. They are in shambles that club at the minute but take a look at the players they signed. Each and every single one of them would walk into our starting XI.

All I ever see is Barcelona fans blaming everyone else for all it’s problems.

I watched brighton... pretty sure your supposed to walk about after you get in the 1st XI

on a serious note Im not sure Christiensen would... not convinced raphina would (at least if sancho / rashford played close to their best) and Im not entirely sold on Kessie either

Raphina would 100% start for us and switch Sancho over to his preferred position on LW. Rashford can then rot on the bench like he deserves for his 12 month of atrocious performances. I’d take Christiansen over Maguire as well.

I would don't envy them. I rather be in united position any day.

All I ever see is quotes from klick baiting journalists. No one denying problems, but the nerrative this summer is absolutely ridiculous. Many of you riding the hate train and taking every word written as the holy grail, no matter how questionable the source is. For example I read at least 20 insulting posts quoting the cope story. Did you know they already accused barca wrongly about a doping complaint? They even apologized for it after some pressure. You all don't know how spanish press works and it's funny.

Isn’t this a perfect match of the so-called money laundering (in a stupid way and purpose though)? They have 150mil (not illegal obtained though) which is not counted to increase the salary cap, so they money launder it. What are Spain law enforcements doing now?
Edit: not perfect but close to.

Going after players like Arnautovic and apparently agreed a deal for an absolute shithouse character of a CM, stuck with probably top 3 worst owners in elite football. Not much better for us.

Christensen is a better player than the 80m pound slab captain calamity we are stuck with. Raphinha right now better than both Martial and Rashford also Sancho. Kessie would be a massive upgrade on every single one of our midfielders.

This is not money laundering, not even close.

There are no owners even remotely close in “elite” football. We have the worst, bar none, by a distance. Scum.

Barca are morally bankrupt and a laughing stock, but at least (for now) they are owned by their supporters.

Can't disagree. Can't think of another elite club who are run like us with sheer incompetent non qualified people in vital roles.

We are going after Arnautovic in 2022. It's the most embarrassing unbelievable pathetic thing I've seen since Sir Alex left.

How can this not end in a transfer ban and points deduction?

They have entered into commercial deals and transfer business and are unable to register the players. If they can't register them for a year, do you think they will still pay the players? Of course not. More legal wranglings coming for sure and the selling clubs will start legal proceedings so to make sure they get the fees.

Barcelona are acting like they have a devine right to be successful. Horrific arrogance and hubris. Hope the club folds tbh
