I would say so yes, quite a bit. Mainly due to the clubs involved. Arsenal would rob us. I reckon about 15-17m for Baraja.

I cant remember, I think it was something like 3.5 thousand million pesetas. Wait a mo!

I'd swap Veron for Aimar anyday.

Aimars buy-out clause is 56.7 million pounds.

weaste, why is it difficult that any spanish player i.e baraja to go over to england? climate and such?

Not if they want to sell him!

Yeah, I think that they like the sun, the sea, the mountains, and decent seafood too much.

I really hope we get him. He's the best box to box midfielder around behind Vieira. The perfect replacement for Keano.

Agreed, except I think that he's better than Vieira.

Oh!
Baraja
Aimar
Difficult one that, Canizares is getting on, but ATM is the better keeper. Depends if you want to build for the future or not here.

Its really easy to pick Viera,Aimar and Canizares. But Baraja,Ronaldinho and Robinson more realistic.

thanks. if that the case then it's almost virtually impossible for United to sign up any spanish player unless we really do spend a big amount of $$$??

Well, if they are ambitious, there is not really any better place to come to than United. Doesn't necessarily mean lots of cash.

He's not in my opinion, hence my statement saying he is the perfect replacement for Keano is a bit contradictory. Vieiras' tackling and physical strengths are superior to Barajas' i'd say.

We get sun in Manchester...
The mountains are not far from here(Peninines sp?)
...and if they want seafood, then Blackpools only down the road.

Tell Baraja there is a brilliant Spanish restaurant in Manchester, it's only a few miles from the sea, not far from the peak district
and he can buy the Sun every day bar Sundays in his local cornershop
Don't tell him it's grim up north though!

Maybe, but Baraja's general skill level and stamina are better than Vieira's I'd say.
It's a trade off, but for me stamina is the most important thing for a true box-to-box player to have. The ability to run and run and run for the whole 90 minutes and not start flagging and lumbering like Vieira seems to do towards the last quarter of a match IMO.

70 grand a week will make it alot less grim. None of the flash southern clubs can offer that can they?
I'd say it's grimmer down south.

Point taken, although I don't think Vieira lumbers towards the ends of games...

Baraja also has an excellent shot on him, bit like Scholes from long range, and he takes a wicked free kick to boot.

yeah..i've seen him scored a few free kicks before..but the most important think is he's all rounded defensive midfield like roy keane of old..it seems that he can do everything!!!..tackling, passing, shooting, heading..a brilliant player..valencia even use him as a link man when aimar is injured(i think)
