Bannings

Cheers again, I quite like this place ;)

Well what sort of system do you have in place?

All mods have banning sticks they can use when they want?

There is a process on KT and YAWN whereby if a mod wants to have someone banned, then they must get 2 other mods approval. This is just to ensure any banning isnt personal rather than relating to the breaking of your 'acceptable use' policy

What next?

Knitting circle after the communal creche commitee meeting?

Nobody would ever get banned.

Which is obvioulsy wrong on so many levels.

And so much less fun

ffs, its not committing someone to mental care, does one of the mods have to be a specialist and all. Should we set up an appeals board while were at it?

:wenger:

Dunno about you, but i've never needed anyone's approval to ban someone at KT....

Weastedevil for Mod! I agree with you on this one, DJS.

As for your being a moderator on Koptalk - congratulations! However, if you read my post again you won`t see me mention names because there are MANY other clubs` fans sites on the net. I know what I have read and I know what the attitudes to Manchester United fans are on too many of those forums. I am not talking about Kop Talk by the way.

As for those abusive Manchester United fans here that allegedly get away with making comments about Hillsborough and Heysel that go beyond the bounds of acceptable commentary, please tell me who that person is or who they are. Then Man United fans might be able to actually assess whether that person is making a reasonable even if in some people`s eyes, misguided or wrong comment.

I don`t believe the fact that you or others are Liverpool fans gives you the right to call for censorship or banning of Man United fans` comments about the two Liverpool-connected tragedies unless they are clearly abusive and their purpose is to give offence.

I`ve taken Liverpool fans` side before when somebody was talking about Heysel and although I disagree with the Man United fans who blamed Liverpool hooligans solely for the tragedy (without taking into account the stadium, security, and the actions of a Juventus hooligan minority who together with the Liverpool hooligans caused the deaths and injuries to innocent fans), I don`t see that their comments were worthy of being censored or banned. I may not have agreed with them but they were not being abusive or celebrating the tragedy.

Some evidence please.

Thats cos Dunk cant be arsed to implement it

Plus you seem quite good at changing peoples login passwords for them anyway :D

Anyway...shhhhhhhhh we got the Cafe on the ropes now, even Murt and 2 resident mods are getting worried

Re Liverpool fans` comments about success - as opposed to Liverpool`s years in the wilderness re the English title?

I am serious about Weastedevil becoming a mod and I am sure others here are too. Unlike some people he can actually express opinions, doesn`t applaud mediocre, childish epithet-slinging posts :tard: :tard: :tard: , and doesn`t feel threatened by people who know how to make logical posts with actual arguments.

Weastedevil for Mod!

So where is DJS? I`m waiting for him to identify posts/threads where Man United supporters have been offensive over Heysel and Hillsborough.

I did see references to Heysel and while I disagreed with some of the Man United posters about it to some extent, I don`t think Liverpool fans could cite those posts as incidents of worthy-of-banning posts.

There were disagreements and comments on Liverpool hooligans but from what I recall nobody wrote anything that should have been banned.

Give up the stirring. I know who DJS is alluding to, it was debated and is done. The comments didn't push things far enough to merit a banning for a long term forum member, but would probably have resulted in teh expulsion of a newer member. That may seem unfair to some on here but that's how it is.

Thanks, that explains it. I never saw that particular post wherever it was from.

Getting back to other clubs` fans maintaining that somehow the redcafe is lenient with abuse or whatever, they really have no idea of how intolerant their own clubs` forums are compared to this one. I was not referring to Kop Talk when I made my previous posts, but I really can`t see Kop Talk tolerating a Mancunian DJS on there for long - not that there is one.

Traitor!

No one said this was a democracy anyhow.

I think more members should join a Caf equivalent of the BNP, lobbying to chuck all the rivals out unless theyre of some use and agree with everything we say. Youre just a soppy lefty ;)

Whats ***? Is it ***?

Edit - yes.
