Twitter is a cesspit for any decent football fan, you see this kind of idiotic behaviour crop up time and time again. The only silver lining is that as these morons continue to expose themselves they're hopefully reaping the shitstorm coming their way they fully deserve.

Social media has its good sides but on other hand it shows how much scum there is in a human race and they're showing their real face..

As for Mario's lol tbh I'm glad our players are mature and classy enough and dont do similar stuff as that or Dzeko's lol...

Agree but there is a bit of a difference between Neville doing it (been a red all his life and at United his whole career) and some misfit (on his fourth club aged 22) who has been at Liverpool
3 weeks and will no doubt move on to somewhere else in a year or two. If Gerrard does it, you at least understand where he is coming from.

A more perplexing question is why people in the public eye put themselves in the firing line to all manner of idiots, keyboard warriors and worse on Twitter.

Don't forget he was Man City before too so his hatred for Man Utd isn't something new, it isn't three weeks old.

how were those racial insults covered by mainstream media?

All hell was raised with Partizan racist sign vs Tottenham as it should be.
I hope Balotelli incident wasnt just swept aside.

Racism is well and kicking unfortunately, its just well hidden.

Dzeko's was pretty funny tbf, Balotelli's pretty retarded considering his own club's atrocious showing against West Ham not 24 hours before.

Balotelli is basically just a clown.

I must agree with Joey Barton: "He is the biggest myth in World football the fella."

Playing like shit against Boro. Shooting at every chance and doing it terribly

Not been impressed by him in any game so far. Doesn't fit their style of play at all and there's been very few moments of genuine class. He is only 24 and Rodgers has done well with developing players in that age group but I think he'll be gone in 18 months.

Sometimes I forget that he's only 24.

Wonder how his season will pan out in comparison to Welbecks?

Prior to us signing Welbeck I'd have been very happy with Balotelli coming in, thinking Wenger could coax the best out of him.

Really? Surprising. I really rate Welbeck though so I am a bit biased but I'd never take Balotelli over him.

your guaranteed commitment with Wellbeck and he will run all day for the team, your guaranteed the exact opposite with wannabeonthetelly.

We needed a CF, and realistically we weren't going to get Falcao so I didn't think there were any other options of the potential quality of Balotelli.

Yeah he's pretty much tailor made for our style of play. The relentless closing down that he and Sanchez brings to the side means that defenders will hopefully be forced into making poor passes, and defensive lines cannot afford to make mistakes if they're high up on the pitch. Last season we didn't close down well enough, and we had no one with the pace to run in behind defences or at least make them second guess pushing right up the pitch. Now we have Ox, Walcott, Sanchez and Welbeck who can get in behind sides.

I know Arsene has a good record with young players, but Balotelli will never change. He is technically very good, he just doesn't have the desire, work rate or temperament to make it. If he did he could easily make the type of movement to make him deadly. He just never will though.

I guess the proof will be in the pudding this season.

I hope for his sake he does, as he could be one of the dominant CF's going around... He has it, all except for upstairs.

Balotelli has always been an arse and a guy with a chip on his shoulder.

I remember his attitude towards Ronaldo in our games against Inter Milan a few years ago. He craves attention and is wasting away his talent with his pathetic attitude. I hope the scousers suffer with the decision they've made!

Welbeck will have the better season.

If our players need something to help them man up a bit keeping a mental note of this and also Dzeko's little chuckle at our expense should help. They should pin this shit up on the wall of our dressing room. Those who aren't stirred into action by it are at the wrong fecking club.

The racist response is out of order obviously.

I'd say if they are needing to pin twitter responses on the dressing room wall to fire them up they are at the wrong club. That's pub mentality.

He'll need some sort of transformation to become a more dynamic player, but watching more closely now than in the past, his skill level is really far higher than I previously assumed. He just has a gear in him few others have. Too sporadic so far, but there's definitely something there to work with. Given how Rodgers is all about teaching players to express themselves going forward, I'm hopeful Balotelli will discover how much more enjoyable football when you do it properly.

Still, I can't wait for Sturridge to come back. It's getting embarrassing how much better Sterling is than everyone else out there (though to be fair, he seems to be approaching Suarez levels of being involved in everything).

So erm, he's been pretty shit so far, I have to say. Doesn't seem to fit their style of play at all and looks his usual disinterested self.

I agree with the extra gear bit. It's definitely there, whether a superb takedown, shot from distance with power or a class pass. Just a case of whether we will see it enough this season. I'm just glad we've got him instead of Aspas. And now ahead of a poooor Lambert too.

You might be wishing you could play United every week then ;)

Agree completely. I still think he'll be a poor signing in the long term.

Watching the Anfield crowd pandering to him is quite delicious. They'll soon see sense

If City fans are anything to go by they definitely won't! I saw someone the other day in a City t-shirt with "Why Always Me" on the front. Certains fans love the story and drama that goes with players to the extent where they can go no wrong. Whatever he did people ended up saying stuff like "That's just Mario!!" even if it cost the team.

I don't really rate him, occasional moments of being very good but other than that he's not worth the hassle. Only turns up when he can be arsed really.

He's such a lazy, stroppy turd. Would drive me demented if he was playing for United. Can't see him being anything other than a flop.

Can't say his work rate's been awful since he's been at Liverpool. He's certainly trying.

You’re right, he is. Which makes it almost more worrying from a Liverpool perspective – if that’s how he is playing when trying, then maybe he’s just not very good?

His LOL tweet was hilariously lacking in self awareness. With the way he’s been playing so far, he shouldn’t even be giggling quietly let alone laughing out loud.

I don't think he's been playing badly, I think he's done relatively well so far, and as Shades says he's working hard.

The problem is that it still looks like a clash of styles between our usual system and how he wants to play. Which I guess is just as worrying, if it doesn't click soon.

He'll drop out as soon as Sturridge returns. He's not good enough to start as a lone striker for a side hoping to achieve top four.

Although I do agree he's capable of a moment of magic out of nothing.

That’s a very ‘glass half full’ summary of how he’s been so far. As B20 says, Sterling has been miles and miles better than everyone else so far this season, including Balotelli, and I think it’s safe to say that Sterling has yet to even hit top form.

I’m not sure how anyone could look at Balotelli’s performances so far and say that he’s done ‘relatively well’. Relative to what though? Lambert?

I’d argue that Liverpool currently have more problems than United – aside from leaking goals (which we are both doing), you look a miles different team going forward than last year. Obviously losing Suarez is key to that, as is Sturridge missing a couple of games. But it’s not too difficult to see why Balotelli never became a key player at City and why Milan fans were happy to see the back of him either. He’s not good enough. He’ll inevitably score a few goals this season, but ultimately he’s not going to be a striker you’ll look to to lead a title charge. Never.

Don't really want to get into whether he'll be a title winning striker or not for us, but I genuinely don't think he's been too bad so far. Nothing outstanding obviously but it's a solid base for his first few games at the club.

Don't think it's fair to say it's just a half glass full view either, I was pretty clear with my concerns about the Balotelli signing before the transfer was completed and nothing so far has eased them. It wasn't his attitude that worried me it was his style of play, and while I think he's started 'relatively well' I still think we were stupid not to go for a versatile forward who is comfortable running in behind defences.

He's been alright so far. He's far down on the list of problems.

You'd like to think he'd be higher on the list of solutions than he has been so far though. But then, he's still new in the team and hasn't had much to work with so far.

No it isn't. I'd respectfully suggest that the development of a siege mentality has stood us in good stead in the past and wouldn't go amiss right now. And I was speaking metaphorically - I'm quite sure SAF wouldn't have fought shy of pointing out that rivals were taking the piss on social media to get a response. The desire to ram it back down their throats should be utilised as full as possible and highlighting what rivals are saying should be pretty motivational. If you're suggesting that players at this level are beyond that then you've forgotten how half of them downed tools last season because they couldn't be arsed. Taking some pride in what you do works wonders.

I don't think he'll be a "flop" but he's destined to reside in the Anelka pile of decent strikers who're legends for nobody.

I's funny that quite a few people seem to think Lukaku's overrated and not all that, yet Balotelli apparently has loads of ability.
He occasionally brings a ball down well and spanks it hard. Other than that and penalties, what exactly is he so good at?
Liverpool would have been better off spending double the money and buying Lukaku instead, in my opinion. He's not as good at linking up (not that Balotelli's that amazing at it either) but he'd fit the system better.

Balotelli will be fine at home when they dominate the ball, and can play it to his feet all game and wait for one of his five or six shots to go in. But away from home he wont want to run onto the ball like they need him to, he'll slow things down when Suarez sped it up, and he can't really carry it up the field that well.

Didn't make full sense at the time, and still doesn't.
You'll just find he only really scores at home.
