Not Ronaldo
I don't think he was any better than Lingard last season, however that's irrelevant, being a bit better than Mata and Lingard doesn't mean someone is of the level we should be looking at to give that front 3 the magic it's sorely lacking, I mean Mahrez is much better than Willian, Lingard and Mata but I don't think he's good enough either if we want to really boost that mediocre forward line that is totally reliant on individual brilliance as we don't play as a unit like most top teams, Bale and Ronaldo fit the bill but have the question marks I mentioned.
As back up to LukakuAll this talk about William Bale Ronaldo, where does this leave Rashford??
I'd take bale in a heartbeat and I'm sure Jose will want this but to do this in afraid I can see martial being sold.
I also see no future for Mata either.

Mata shouldn't have a future here, lingard shouldn't ever start if it's not as a #10, martial is likely to leave anyway with how Mourinho has marginalized him, while Rashford is inconsistent and shouldn't be starting anyway and usually plays on the left anyway.
Willian for RM and Bale for LB, as I hear he's good there.
You're having a laugh aren't you?
None of the above.
Obviously Bale is a class act but he will have seen the criticism that Jones gets on here for being injured all the time.
You can slide the Willian bit in at the end but that doesn't make it so , and Herrera is a different type of CM to Matic so I don't get where that argument even had any purpose personally. As for Mahrez, I'm not sure how I contradicted myself, he's a decent PL player with flaky attitude, nowhere near the level of Bale and Ronaldo. As for the fullbacks, I agree they have been an issue but their lack of running in behind is often down to instructions, I mean do you think Valencia and Young choose not to go on the overlap? I find that hard to believe as it's natural for both to want to get into the final 3rd. I agree on Mata being frustrating but again is his choice on the ball down to his lack of pace to drive or down to what he is being told to do? I just go back to the game with McTominay playing square and the crowd very audibly groaning, when Mourinho said it was the right choice to be cautious and just keep the ball. In truth it's very difficult to evaluate our current attacking players under the current regime at United as the team isn't geared towards attack.I agree with some of what you say then you contradict yourself at the end saying no to Mahrez but yes to Bale and Ronnie. I agree we were relying on individual brilliance this season. Much of that was down to lack of support and running in behind from our full backs so our attack could get one on one situations. This did not happen much so our attackers were doubled up on and it was even worse with Mata as teams know he checks back (and let him it allows teams to filter back into shape). It’s the one clear thing when you sit in OT for me you can see who understands football and who doesn’t. You see half the crowd sigh as it has allowed the other team back and killed our other attackers yet the other half of the fans clap because he’s played a square good looking 30-40 yard pass to the left side where the opposing team have us doubled up as they don’t have to double up as much on the right attack. It’s just so wrong on many levels. Oh and Willian is a serious upgrade on Lingard in virtually all aspects this argument went on with Gibson, Cleverely and even Herrera was meant to be a better 6 than Matic (hope that’s been put to bed).

If we are to have any hopes of reeling City in next season, which is a monumental task any way you slice it, we need proven match winners of Gareth Bale's calibre. We cannot rely on the likes of Martial, Rashford, Lingard etc to produce on a consistent basis, they are either not ready for the responsibility or worse still simply not good enough.
One of our main issues last season was the team looking rather toothless in attack. A front 3 of Sanchez, Lukaku and Bale performing at their very best would go a long way to remedying that issue and furthermore, they are good enough to compete with any forward line on the planet. We should be moving mountains to make this a reality.
You put too much down to Jose instructions it’s not even feasible that he can tell what his two full backs to not to overlap. It’s a factor for both Valencia who cannot cross a ball (he constantly threatens to take a man on and plays it backwards) then Young who likes to favour his right foot. So it’s pretty obvious it’s them and not the managers instructions. Plus at their age the thought is from them to save their legs rather than expunge energy. I’ve not dropped Willian in he’s a really good player and would be a massive upgrade on Mata and Lingard. If you think our manager tells our players these instructions then you are way off the mark. The Mctominay instance Jose was spot on so that’s pointless bringing that up. In truth as you say I disagree with you it’s easy to see and judge our attack guys like Mata and Lingard are not going to hurt anyone nowadays they are powder puff players. We need to up the quality in these positions end off for me Devil.
Ronaldo's attention seeking is really off the scale. His threats to leave RM were entirely designed to pull attention away from Bale and back on to himself. Of course, he succeeded. On the Marca website, of the 10 most popular articles, SEVEN were about Ronaldo (who was really just a bit player in the final) and none about Bale even though in any normal world, Bale would be getting huge plaudits.
I loved Ronaldo when he was here but I don't think I can cope with having a second person at this club who is looking a bit past it and who seems to want to turn everything into an ego-driven circus.
I am certain that Bale will leave RM in the summer (take a look at the pictures of the team celebrations in Madrid yesterday if you are in any doubt) and I would be happy to have him here.
