Shame that the Red Knights never came up with a serious bid back in 2010 - they said that Glazer was asking too much but in hindsight it was good value as the price of the club has probably doubled since then and thats even in a period with little success
He did say there were multiple problems with that consortium. One being that their proposal was publicised before they had adopted a tactic, which went global and illustrated even more how big the club was. And it was also a very complex thing to try to do. I guess there are two alternatives for a non-Glazer ownership, one being that we're in the doldrums long enough for the public appeal to sharply decline, which would probably require years and years as we've been shit for almost a decade now and still considered the most valuable sports brand in the world by far. Or they get an outstanding offer from a billionaire.
Even if they've got no interest in the club, in sporting success, in placating supporters, they'd still always enjoy having free money annually and they can always leverage the club further if they're short in the pocket.
