She sprained her ankle really early on in the match. To her credit she still played on.

Laura, can you answer my question to Veedey(about Kournikova) in his absence? Thanks!

A lot of people are interested in her private life. It's widely discussed in our tabloids.Affairs with Bure,Fedorov,Enrique etc.
She's laughed at as a tennis player.Standing jest I would say.

bet she doesn't give a toss though.

I wonder how long her sponsors will continue to pay her big money though. It can't be good business to be associated with one of sport's highest profile losers?

So do I.

But she's considered to be the most beautiful woman in tennis and she plays her cards right with it.pretty face is very expensive in such business.

she can in no way be compared to such really talented players as the Williams sisters but they ain't that attractive so she wins off the court and they on it.

Have to admit Russian media have been making her bad reputation for last several years. Journalists dislike her after one of her early performances in Moscow in 1998 as she agreed to give them interviews only in English. Then she refused to play for Russia in Davis cup and newspapers named her a ‘non-patriot person’. Now I’d say Russians like her as a national sex-symbol (does this word exist in English?). But respect? She definitely hasn’t it.

Thanks Veedey. I think that is pretty much the perception of Kournikova around the world. I was just wondering if it was any different in Russia.

She doesn't deserve any kind of respect.

Bet if not my injury I would have become the best Russian female tennis player. ;)

Would you have been my favourite player?

people just like gossips and hot stories and if there's Kournikova's mug on a cover of a magazine you can be sure it'll be sold out.

not to mention a naked part of her body or sommat like that.Men like her and they don't care she can't play tennis.women want to know some details of her affair with Enrique.
She's a lable today and her image and reputation work for her.

No more Philipoussis!! WOohoo!

Too bad Escude. :(

Nice one Seb! Lapentti is another player I like to root against.

Just saw Fabrice Santoro lost as well. :(

Now there's a fun player to watch.

A player to look out for in the future is Feliciano Lopez.

Safin has withdrawn due to injury. Lookslike a clear route for Hewitt/Agassi to the finals.

He was looking good so soon after coming back from his 3rd knee surgery, so hopefully he can keep it up and really challenge for Wimbledon. He probably would've won it already if not for his knees.

Hewitt through to the fourth round in straight sets tonight 6-3 6-2 6-0 i think the score was

Great comeback by Grosjean! I had a bet on him and was really cursing him out after teh irst two sets! :o

Not sure if he can beat Agassi with the way he is playing. I really hope he does though!

Will be hard now, Grosjean is surely more tired than Agassi.

The game between Henin and Davenport seems to have been great ! I've just seen a summary, Justine has been brave ! I hope she won't be too tired for the next match.

I saw pretty much all of it. Henin really should have won it in 2 sets, then Davenport should have won the 3rd set. Big win for Henin.

I agree.

Agassi hasn't really been tested at all this time, and with him delcaring himself as fit as ever i doubt Grosjean will be able to pull any surprise tomorrow.

doesn't matter anymore.. it's a Williams sister final again..

They shouldn't allow both the Williams to compete in the same ATP event anywhere in the world.. it's always going to be Williams sister final everywhere this year.. they seem to be getting better too..

i've practically stopped watching the women's draw recently..

Woooow! Younes!! What an awesome serving performance by him. Didn't let Hewitt have a chance.

Great comeback by Roddick too. Maybe he will win this after I said I didn't think he was ready yet??

Yay for Serena too. Yay for Schuettler for beating the vastly overrated Blake.

Nalbandian might give Federer a really tough game. Unfotunately I'll be at work. :(

You're for Serena? she's cruising the WTP, and umlike Arsenal, I think she CAN go through this year unbeaten - injury permitting...

but that's no good for the sport..

Atleast Tiger Woods and Arsenal can be upstaged sometimes.. but Serena doesn't look like being beaten at all.. Tennis for Women is turning into Formala 1 with Schumacher Sr. dominating.. worse part about it is you see players like Henin do so well only to be beaten by either of the Willaims sister.. boo hoo to Women's tennis!

he's not even a real tennis player IMO.. only has the serves.. doesn't move well, doesn't anticipate well.. even at his fittest i think Mark will still lack a lot of skills that will take him to win any Grand Slam title...

Well, thats what simply makes men tennis so much better than women. Hewitt looks as unbeatable as Serena probably, but he CAN be beaten. And it isn't that big a surprise.

If Serena lost to the 18th seed (not that she would) it would have been a huge shock.

Looking at the men draw, I'd say it's between Agassi and Roddick now. Maybe Grosjean... but I can't see anyone else winning it.

With my talent for predicting, it'll probably be Ferrero and Nalbandian in the final. ;)
