Australian Open 2015

She's been talking some shit about Berdych, apparently.

Was meant to be more towards his new coach who was Murrays old one and was in the heat of the moment after the match was won. Murray has just given up the fight and completely lost it inside with being negative on himself.

Really stupid to bring Murray's gf in picture. It has been overall quite good match and best player is winning.

How can Murray start so well and end up embarrassing himself so badly. You wouldn't get that from the other '3'

Can't believe Murray fell to pieces like that. Perhaps that's why it will be remembered as Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, and the rest of the pack.

Murray will need to have a good look at himself after this, as he lost the internal battle again which under Lendl he managed to keep in check. If he returns back to how he was pre Lendl he is going to struggle this season with losing it himself.

Two and a half incredible sets. Good at least to see Andy (most of the way) 'back' after 2014.

Murray needs to punt his coach who was obviously employed to improve his image or whatever. Embarrassing capitulation

I really like Murray, but Djokovic has been my favourite sportsman for close to a decade. Have to admit I loved that.

Pretty sure Djokovic and Murray are not understanding the accent at all

He was literally doing it that entire 4th set!!?? How could he miss that!
Some posters just like to talk ridiculous no matter what the topic.

Moving on, nice to see Murray in good spirits in post match presentation. I hope by the time Andy is done, he has around 5 slams.

You watching a different match? Certainly proved your own point about people talking nonsense.

I like Djokovic but he loves that tactic

No I was watching a match where Murray was doing the exact same thing as Djokovic, only you seem to be watching it through tinted specs. I'm not saying what Djokovic did was right, nor that he wasn't doing it because he clearly was. But to say Murray wasn't doing it or never does is plain ignorance.

Looks like I watched it up until Murray crumbled. Shame that. Think he'll get an Aus Open win sometime.

Doubt that ... unless he works on his psyche. He is a superb player, but should've won many more Opens by now.

I doubt Murray will win more than 5 slams in his career. Djokovic, Wawrinka, Berdych, Nadal are making the men's circuit so competitive. 2 wins in 8 Slam finals is poor.
No doubt there but realise that Novak was 1-3 in his last 4 grand slam finals before today. Winning one is tough.

Murray says he indeed got distracted by Djokovic's 'mortally injured and about to forfeit' routine... http://m.bbc.com/sport/tennis/31083979

The last paragraphs  He basically tried to say in a civilized way that Djokovic was at it again with his Oscar dramatics.

Novak has done it regularly in big matches when the opponent was gaining momentum and it has indeed worked in the past to throw off his opponent. And i don't blame him actually. If it keeps working and his opponents still lose concentration because of that it is also partially their stupidity to keep falling for an old trick.

The fact that Murray let it distract him is worse than the fact that Djokovic did it.

Doesn't Novak pretend to be injured everytime he's in a tough spot.

Murray should know better.

Berdych's mental strength is even worse than Murray's to be fair.

Williams is lost cause
For all her talk, Serena Williams will never return to the top again

Pat Cash

IF ANYBODY is qualified to make deluded statements about tennis, it is a former world No 1 and winner of seven Grand Slam titles. But when Serena Williams arrives in Australia on her first foreign playing trip in a year and announces that it is only a matter of time before she is again dominating the sport, it’s time to tell her to get real.

Tennis is unforgiving. You can’t let it slide down the list of priorities, only to realise suddenly that playing the sport was what you wanted to do all along. Many have tried to turn back the clock, but nearly all have failed. That list includes Bjorn Borg, John McEnroe, Martina Hingis and, for different reasons, Monica Seles.

Admittedly this quartet experienced some success. The exploits of Hingis reaffirm the belief that a good champion never completely loses the gift, but she has gone only a fraction of the way and the No 1 ranking she held for a couple of years is far out of reach. Why? Tennis moved on in her absence.

The only players I can recall who let things slip, only to climb back to the top, were Andre Agassi and Jennifer Capriati. Williams should ask herself if she has the same dedication. And is she prepared to make the sacrifices? The answer is obvious.

Serena has won 12 of 19 majors since then.

Doesn't Murray do the same thing every time he's losing?

Murray shouldn't have fallen for it but like he said, at the AO and the US they show replays on the screens before the players serve. So it is hard to not become aware of what is going on at the other end of the court. Needs to improve his mentality though. Still think he's a good chance for Wimbledon and the US. Has just come back from a bad injury/form afterall.

Murray's biggest problem is his dire 2nd serve. 15mph slower than Djokovic's yesterday and, incredibly, slower than both Ladies finalists on Saturday.

Murray has a huge mental problem. Blaming Djokovic for anything is ridiculous. Whatever Nole might have done you don't go and lose the fourth set 6:0, that's just too much. Murray turret like outbursts are equally distracting. Fans are distracting. Those protesters were distracting. He needs to overcome any of those distractions and play his bloody game. To even put Nole in the mix here is nothing but embarrassing.

As for Nole, he's no super human either but after he lost the second set he started telling himself that he was there before and that he can beat Murray and he started building up his confidence. There's a world of difference between these two players in that respect. Murray needs to play like he believes that he can win it and then he'll hopefully get some results.
