Aurier?

Aurier could be available in the summer. He's a top right back. I think Bayern Munich, City and even Barcelona could go for him.

Do you think we should try to sign him?

City maybe as they have a lot of old fullbacks.

Could perhaps see a Chinese club going in for him and he might just go there to get away from the heat.

PSG are going to suspend show everyone they are upset with him. Then they will realize it will be difficult to find another RB and decide to keep him.

He's awesome. Had a great season so far and he is still just 23 years old. With that said I would love to give Darmian further chances to establish himself as he has proven his level earlier in his career. I don't think PSG will let him go, that would be silly and cause them one hell of a headache to replace him.

I think we should. Valencia needs to be moved on and that'll leave us with only Darmian at RB. Given Darmian's versatility to play both RB & LB, getting another RB would make sense.

I'd rather keep valencia and get rid of Darmian. Darmian is rubbish, valencia is a much better back up option.

Always interesting to see how players become better once they're out for a while - or you just have short memory. Valencia is a poor right back with the odd good game, so we either buy a top RBor keep what we have, as there is not much difference between Darmian and Valencia

I never realised he was so young. As insanely dumb as he conducted himself there, PSG would really struggle to find a replacement as good. Maybe they'll play Marquinhos there permanently?

eh, what he said was bad but not like career threatening bad. if we had the chance, we'd be mad not to try and sign him.

No I think Valencia gets some unjust hate, I mean he's not amazing but he offers much more than darmian does imo

I'd rather keep Valencia and sell darmian both should be back ups though most definitely

Is no one willing to give darmian another season? He really hasn't been bad to me.

We need competition either way. Is Varela going to be trusted there? Do you want to continue with Valencia as his backup, if we could easily improve on him? Especially with the injuries we've had in defence yet again, it's necessary to do something about it.

I am and i'm sure there are plenty more. He's been inconsistent this season but i've seen enough to think he'll be a good signing in the long run. How some want to keep Valencia (who we should sell) over him i find strange. Still, i'd like us to sign another right back for competition. Aurier would be great.

Should never dump a player after 1 season imo. Give them a proper pre season and 2 seasons minimum. Having said that, i'd rather go for Fabinho over Aurier because then it would give us an option for using Fabinho as a DM as he has done at Monaco while also providing cover at RB.

Im a bit appalled at how many people are comfortable with jettisoning a player for a poor/average/inconsistent first season at a new club, in a new league, in a completely different country/culture. Same goes for Memphis as well as the gathering agro towards schneiderlin in some circles. Ive seen enough of darmian, both internationally and at the start of the season to be very content with him being here for another season or 2 at least.

Sure its been fairly shit by all accounts for most of our signings over the last few years but after half a season? not sure about that at all.

I don't want to see either of Valencia or Young continue at right back and I'm not convinced by Varela's credentials either.

I'm not particularly bothered about whether Darmian is first choice or a squad player next season but we definitely need better options than we have there currently.

I can see the competition pov, it's a valid reason in truth. I would like varela and jackson to be our backups for next season though. That's likely a bit naive, but we won't have a world class squad over one summer so we should really rely on the one or 2 players from the youth teams we know we can count on.

for the record I'd definitely keep Darmian. I think he would blossom under Jose. plus he can play both fullback positions, and even centreback if needed.

he's a far better option at the back than Valencia.

For me, his defensive instincts are better than most of the fb United have at the moment. IMHO, he just need a good pre-season, get the physical part up to PL standard (Serie A is slow etc.) and probably that would improve his game. Some games he looked like he is out of breath towards end of the game, which might hinder his game. Valencia has the physical and probably offensive aspects but lack the defensive instincts.

Absolute no brainer to buy him imo. If Darmian works out, great, we actually have 2 class players in a position - like all major clubs. If Darmian doesn't work out, great we have a class RB for the first time in years (fit Rafael?).

Makes too much sense for Woodie. Will never happen.

Darmian is getting a massively harsh rap considering how good he looked when he first arrived and for Torino/Italy before that. How many players, many of them older and more established than him, have looked poor under Van Gaal's methods? Surely he's shown enough talent to be given a fair chance under a proper manager without being labelled "shit" after 6 months?

I've been hugely impressed with how Varela has stepped in as well. Would much rather invest playing time in the two of them than bail out PSG and take on some clown with the emotional intelligence of Donald Trump.

If some of you fellas ran the club, guys like Vidic, Evra, Cristiano and De Gea would've been shipped out after half a year for being "shit".

I think Darmian, Schneiderlin and Memphis need to be given at least another season before they are judged. Memphis is a prime example. So many posters saying that they had see absolutely nothing to justify him being good enough and then we see what he can do mid-week. (The opposition may not have been the strongest but they had 7 internationals in their team). I have been very impressed with Varela too and he could yet turn out to be first choice if he keeps developing. I think we should stick with Darmian and Varela for next season but at the same time it would be hard to turn down a player of Aurier's ability and potential if he was available.

It seems that he is not going to play for 3 weeks in the first team as punishment. I think he is going to be sold in the summer and top teams like Bayern, Barca, Chelsea, City, Juventus could try to sign him.
