ATP World Tour Finals

So Murray loses. Well he won two tournaments in Asia so I guess it's all fine.

Murray never seems to come through on the really big stage as he is too defensive minded. He also seems to be injured a lot in the big matches. Compare him to Ferrer who does not have as much game as Murray but always puts in 100% effort and never gets the negative body language that seems to be Murray's trademark.

That was a match Murray really needed to win, looking at h2h and recent meetings, Ferrer should have been his "easiest" match in the group.

BBC Sport - Andy Murray withdraws from ATP World Tour Finals at O2 Arena

That explains his performance against Ferrer yesterday.

But like said he's really too injury-prone in the last months.

I'll be there on Friday for the Day Session and Night Session..........it's now a bit boring without Murray.

Group B, Matchday 2
Tsonga vs Fish....7-6 6-1
Nadal vs Federer..3-6 0-6

1.Federer...2-0..4-1
2.Tsonga....1-1..3-2
3.Nadal.....1-1..2-3
4.Fish......0-2..1-4

So Federer has reached the semi-final and has said the victory against Nadal would rank as one of his all-time favourites.

Nadal got absolutely hammered

He really should have played Paris. You can't just waltz into the Tour Finals after not playing a tournament in weeks and expect to win against a Federer in sublime form.

Ah so now he's too rested? It's either this or too tired.

^^ You only ever appear when Federer wins?

Anyway Djokovic got absolutely hammered by Ferrer today. Can't see either of Djokovic or Nadal making it to the semis.

Group A, Matchday 2
Tipsarevic vs Berdych...2-6 6-3 7-6
Ferrer vs Djokovic......6-3 6-1

1.Ferrer...............2-0..4-0
2.Djokovic.............1-1..2-3
3.Berdych..............1-1..3-3
4.Tipsarevic...........0-1..1-2
5.Murray (Withdrawn)...0-1..0-2

Tipsarevic vs Berdych was a fantastic match.

Ferrer was sensational but Djokovic looked very tired.
Djokovic has said: "I have no words to explain....the worst match I have played all year. Credit to David....he played really well"

Anyway Ferrer joins Federer for a semi-final place.

Nah, usually around slams and the Year end tournament. Masters and 500 are not that much of a barometer..

Anyhow, looks like Federer wins group 2 if I'm not mistaken and Ferrer is qualified but still can get 1st or 2nd. Nadal/Tsonga, Djokovic and Berdych battle for 2 places.

If anything Djokovic losing today would be a big boost for Nadal, as Berdych control his own faith and with beating Ferrer in straights, Djokovic is out, which is relief for Nadal...

Ferrer has qualified top of his group so Federer will play Berdych/Djoko whereas Ferrer plays Nadal/Tsonga

I don't think it really matters. The way these two are playing right now, it's hard to see them even making the semis.

Nah, if Berdych beats Ferrer and Djokovic beats Tipsarevic the w/l of sets and games will decide the winner.

If Berdych straight sets Ferrer he'd be 5-3, while Ferrer will be 4-2. Ferrer will be top of the group if he wins or loses in 3 sets...

aye, best match so far in the tournament. Both were playing at a very top level

Agree; Tsonga can be so good when he keeps his head together. I think Roger should win this whole thing but he will have 2 tough matches coming up. Obviously Djokovic will be tough if he gets through although he is not playing that well right now. Berdych can also overpower Roger at times but I fancy a Tsonga vs Federer final and I really don't know who would win that. Roger playing at his best should and I would love him to win but I don't mind Tsonga either.

Nadal crashing doesn't surprise me in the least. I expect Djokovic to follow out today.

Federer will win this quite easily. He's been in unbelievable form ever since Basel.

Tipsy won and I expected him to. Horrible end of season form from Djokovic but he can still go through if Ferrer wins against Berdych.

However if Berdych wins then he goes through as group winner.

The group stage format works in weird and strange ways :

"If Djoko loses, Ferrer has to win to top the group. If he wins, Ferrer wouldn't have to win. So it's better for Djoko to lose. #BBCTennis"

First set to Ferrer. Looks like Djokovic will sneak into the semis after all.

Group A, Matchday 3
Ferrer vs Berdych 6-3 5-7 1-6

Good comeback from Berdych.
But i think this match showed why both players aren't in the same class like Nadal, Federer, Djokovic or even Murray, Ferrer has nothing spectacular in his game and Berdych plays too often the same game.

1.Berdych..............2-1..5-4
2.Ferrer...............3-0..5-2
3.Djokovic.............1-2..3-5
4.Tipsarevic...........1-1..3-3
5.Murray (Withdrawn)...0-1..0-2

Semi-finals
Berdych vs Tsonga
Federer vs Ferrer

I'm going for a Tsonga vs Federer final.

Not really. First is head to head, but if this is tie then it's sets and games.

Ferrer vs Federer then. Ferrer could've done more today..

How can Head to Head be a tie? Either you've won or you've not.

Anyway I'm not at all surprised to see both Nadal and Djokovic out in the group stages, they've been horrendous post US Open.

Federer did enought to win today but Ferrer did not have the belief as he has never beaten Roger. I think Tsonga will beat Berdych which will lead to an entertaining final. Come on Roger!!
