Do you understand the meaning of adequate?
Surely it depends on the standings in the group.

But drawing away at Young Boys or teams in the conference league is generally not adequate no I'd say. But Im not surprised to see the standards you go by, your username kinda tells it.

As long as you win your home games, then draws away are good enough. Losing to YB complicates matters a bit but if you get nine points at home then draws away will carry you through.

I'll ignore your baseless, ignorant comment about my username for now.

A win is probably needed to give us that little bit of breathing room over Atalanta, then a win at home to Young Boys would be good.

Aye, a win also allows us a couple of dead rubber games to keep the youth and squad players happy. So it's like a win-win thing :)

We'll get that win too, I'm sure of it.

Your username tells me you’re not a united fan? So maybe don’t judge people by a username?

Less than a year ago, Liverpool won 5-0 here.

Then lost in the home leg which we won. So erm what is your point exactly? City lost 1-0 to spurs, but we just won 3-0 so how on earth did city lose?

Didn’t feel confident this morning but think we can nick a win now if we keep it tight.

That makes it a conditional statement. And this condition also seems to imply that getting past the group is the one and only objective. It for sure is the most important one, but for a team that has splashed close to 500million in the last 3 years, expectations might be a bit higher than that.

It also happens often enough that we don't win all our home games but if you do, an away draw is sufficient yes. Adequate-ness also has to do with acceptable quality, and that's another discussion.

You can't win the trophy if you don't get out of the group and the main key to achieving that objective is winning the home games.

An away win in the CL group is a fantastic result but for any team an away draw is more points toward the first objective and, therefore, good enough and nothing to get het up about. Let's save the rioting for losses. :)

For me formations or who starts is not the biggest issue...

Getting United to perform back to back games is such a rarity. The 5-0 was what made them perform at Spurs, but I hope they don't relax again after a 3-0 thinking they are the best team in the country.

    Consistency and concentration.

    Come On

The main, but that is not the be end all. We can keep saying all these things but far more often than not, the teams winning these big trophies are the teams that are regularly beating teams home and away with "swagger".

You could exactly make the same case for a home draw that a home draw is more points towards the objective and hence adequate. If you would like to, do you ofcourse.

Would love to start Donny in that midfield 2 in a 5atb formation but we all know that’s not happening. I don’t think he’ll start another game until he leaves in Jan unless there’s an injury crisis.

Dropping points at home in the group stage is generally not acceptable for a team like United.

    I agree.

But I would disagree if you say that any away draw in Europe is acceptable for a team like United. Against certain opponents, in certain stages of the group stage depending on our status then in the group, an away draw may not be acceptable for me.

When I say not acceptable I dont mean that you should get sacked for it however.

    10/11
I thought he'd have Telles not Bailly as the lindelof replacement

Quite like the look of that line-up. We get Fernandes and Pogba in the team while still looking balanced.

11/11. Think we will be ok tonight. Dont think we will lose, draw wouldnt be a bad result but really should be able to get three points.

Like that line-up. Curious to see if this set-up suits Pogba more.
