We'll sell De Gea to Barca in the summer imho.
United shattered the previous record when they paid Atletico Madrid £18.3 million for David de Gea in May 2011 and Sir Alex Ferguson is understood to be keen on signing an experienced and imposing goalkeeper to put pressure on the current No 1 at Old Trafford.
I'm sure someone else has picked this up already, but what is this utter bollocks?
Why the feck would we want to lay out £15M on a goalkeeper we don't need?

Because we can't find the midfielder that we want?
I'll fellate a goat if that happens.
De Gea is already better than Begovic. Why on Earth should we loan him and sign a keeper who will cost some money and is not as good as De Gea, and later return De Gea from the loan.
We should also loan Welbeck and sign (insert a decent Premiership striker) and later Welbeck will return stronger. Rafael too.
Jesus Christ that's one of the strangest things I've read on here.
I remember Fergie writing in 1996 that he wanted us to have scouts in every Euro 96 match.
And what did they come back with? Karel Poborsky!
SAF said after that transfer that he would never buy purely out of a tournament ever again.

In other news, Manchester United have sent scouts to watch Christian Benteke in Belgium's qualifier in Macedonia today, as a possible replacement for the inconsistent Robin Van Persie, who may be sent on loan next season with a view to a sale.
Asked why the scouting could not have been done in England at an Aston Villa match, Sir Alex Ferguson observed that Mike Phelan, in his role as United's flight organiser, needed to be kept busy. 'If ye dunnae gi'im summat te do, he'll scratch up all yer furniture an' do'is business on the new carpet.' Ferguson explained.
