No there's people who are saying he's better than Shaw (therefore should be playing) and will do well in Italy

He is better than Shaw at not getting injured as much and thats about it.
The pace of Italy is slower and he might do better there to be fair.

Would mean even less rivalry for the fat bitch on the left back, not now, if they want him so much they can come back in summer.

Really lack experience, it’s mad to think we’d let another senior player leave. Look at Matic, it was a relief to have him in that second half and I’m far from his biggest fan. The balance is so messed up with this squad.

Matic is a different case in terms of a serious lack of options in midfield. At full backs we have five options for ~25 games if Young goes. No one wants to see him on the pitch so what do we need his experience for? Collecting wages on the bench?

Young staying or going makes no difference to the overall making of the squad. Not buying midfielders/attackers this month would be criminal regardless of whether Young stays or goes.

People in here will celebrate as he's one of the most hated players, but honestly there are probably a double figure number of players at this club I'd shift before him.

Good. Sell him and Shaw, buy 1 LB and we're set at both sides.
So we only have one right back? Young is useful.

Imagine the scenes on here as Lukaku, Sanchez and Young are in a huddle hugging just before picking up their Serie A title medals
Imagine the scenes if they knock us out the Europa with those 3 playing starring roles....

If it's what he wants then best of luck to him. Been a consummate professional, does what's asked of him to the best of his abilities without drama or headaches. Cheers ash.

As much as I don't rate Young and I want him gone in the summer, now it is not the time to sell him. I would prefer to send Dalot on loan, somewhere in Spain or Italy, as it is vital for him to play, and keep Young and Laird as covers. Not that i ll be saddened if Young leaves though..

Lingard and Jones now. Young, Mata and Matic (depends if Pogba leaves) in the summer.

I would keep Rojo. I would keep Baily too but he is proving to be glass made.

Strange transfer. But yeah, needs to go.

Honestly the season is just a write off for me now.

I hope OGS does his best, give minutes to the youth, sells the unwanted and then lets Poch take over in the summer. I'd be happy to forgive his 18 months here if he can 'lay the foundations'.

So to be on topic, I don't mind this sale if we get some money for it and/or it means OGS will be forced to play the youth because for all of Young's experience whytf does it matter when he's not going to improve our performances on the pitch.

The reactions when all of the "United rejects" light up the serie A though...

In a team that lacks any sort of leadership it seems madness to be getting rid of Young even if I’ve never really rated him all that much. But considering how thin our squad is he has a number of uses and as I said he seems to be a bit of a leader.

Maybe he is unhappy with game time and wants to go but I hope we bring some bodies in soon.

Tutt'altro che Ashley! Per favore! Ti prego...

Lots of players doing better after they leave us it seems. Maybe not the old ones like Zlatan, Rooney, Valencia, Falcao, but the younger players.
Zaha I guess has not been brilliant, but still doing well at Palace. Depay has been pretty good for Lyon. Di Maria is world class for PSG. Not sure about Herrera yet as he has been injured. Lukaku killing it in PSG. Evans doing great at Leicester. Smalling doing well for Roma. Blind doing well for Ajax. Fellaini is probably dominating in China.

I guess there is a few that has been poor. Schneiderlein comes to mind first and of course many younger players too. Welbeck has also struggled since he left mainly due to being injured all the time.

He does a job to be honest. I think it is risky leaving LB position with Shaw and a kid.

Ashley Young shouldnt be blamed, he should have been sold years ago but that is the clubs fault not his.
Poor Planning and lack of foresight has plagued us since SAF left.

I'm all in favour of getting rid of players who have shown time and time again they aren't good enough and Ashley Young is one of those.

I do have to say though, just how thin are we going to let the squad become?

We desperately need signings.

If we don't sign a replacement then that potentially means more kids thrown in at the deep end in a top 4 race and an EL campaign. I know everyone loves to see academy players promoted but we're placing massive and unfair pressure on them if this happens.

Only negative note is he was the worst United captain. Other than that, he's been a good squad player, way back to Fergie's era.

Dunno if anyone's notified but every player who's left the club last summer has moved to a better team / set of circumstances. It's a absolute joke how rubbish we are under Solskjaer but getting rid of Young might not be the best time but it's understandable. Ashley is good as a backup option however.

He was good back up but it's a good move for player. Like Smalling he can enjoy Serie A before retiring.

We have enough numbers for fullback positions, just have to hope Dalot stays fit.

LB: Shaw and Williams
RB: AWB and Dalot.

We also have Laird who might get few games.

We could use an extra £10m for the kitty. But cut his price to £2m if they also take Lingard.
