Film ASAP Rocky

So why does a white rapper get released without charge on his word while Asap has videos showing he was being harassed yet he spends 3 weeks without even being charged ?

The white rapper admitted his guilt to three minor crimes right away and was clearly guilty of the crimes, for which he was charged and convicted for the same day (with a fine), as is usual with minor crimes. There was nothing more to investigate.

The ASAP prosecution is 500+ pages long and investigates, among other things, who in the rapper’s entourage hit the (irritating) defendant with a glass bottle when he was already on the ground. That is clearly a serious crime and not something you are merely fined for.

Makes me laugh how some of these rappers talk a tough game over the songs but when thrown in a jail for a few weeks start complaining how they can't eat properly etc.

Must be weird for Americans that you can't assault someone with a bottle for harassing you without being charged for it.

Americans calling any Scandinavian country messed up takes the cake though. It's the fecking promised land of progress. It will take the States at least another 500 years to reach that level of Civilization.

Exactly, their prisons are like 4* American hotels. If you’re going to get banged up abroad then Sweden is one of the best places for it.

Is there an actual well-known "real crime problem" in Sweden or is he just saying meaningless words again?

There is a real crime problem in certain parts of Sweden.

Nevertheless, this tendency to help celebrities really annoys me. Let them sit it out like an average citizen would.

If he's lucky the guard who put his cell together will have ended up with a few bolts left over and just binned them.

Just watched his the Kids turned out fine video and it's a masterpiece. The guy is insanely talented and on another level

Have they moved him to a higher security wing?

Maybe Trump can put tariffs on IKEA stuff. That'll show em knäckedbrøt cnuts.

How would crimes likes these, that they’re found guilty of, affect/complicate their future visa applications to travel overseas? I’m guessing because they’re famous and they’re rich, not too much of a hassle?

Just as a side note, I don’t know the complexities for us mere mortals, and I know each country has different rules - residency or just a holiday visa etc, but from what I heard, it can even be difficult to get a tourist visa if you have a criminal record.

Think he's performing on some festival in The Netherlands this weekend. Maybe I'll go there and beat him up.

Good luck with that. If we learned nothing else from all of this, it's that A$AP Rocky is not to be messed with in a brawl.

This decision seems very harsh. Really looks as though those kids were asking for trouble.

It can affect them I think. Tyler, The Creator was banned from the UK, Australia and NZ for years until very recently and that was just because of his 'edgy' lyrics (and they were messed up) from albums like Bastard.

The fact that I'm purely a keyboard warrior doesn't help my case either. Also wouldn't go to Lowlands if you paid me for it.

On a serious note, while the charges seem a bit unfair. You simply cannot beat someone in to a pulp even if he attacks you. You can subdue him or defend yourself, but, and I realize I've not looked at all the footage, assaulting someone with a bottle is not defending yourself.

Aargh, I see. Thanks for that update Sol. That's good to know.

This sounds like utter bullshit. I don't think the case would have even stood in an American legal system where you have a right to self defense and that little shit instigated the fight. The fact that he had a prior history of drug offenses would have been enough to put him in jail or get him deported.

This is interesting because Sweden is a Schengen country and there are no border checks between most of them. So if ASAP is banned from Sweden, does it mean he is banned from all 26 schengen countries? If so that is a big hit to his pocket as most entertainers make a bulk of their money from tours.

That's the point though. The law in Sweden is different.

America would put people in jail for prostitution, but if someone films it, it's porn and it's fine. That's proper weird.

Who cares about American law when we're talking about something taking place in Sweden though?

Artists will engage local law firms to help them get exceptions to the entry restrictions brought on by their criminal convictions. Money helps, but their chosen profession also impacts the process.

I was in Vanersborg and Gotenborg recently and loved it. If you consider that a shithole, please don’t ever visit Brussels ;)

i always heard stuff like this about Brussels, but then visited there earlier this year and thought it was stunning! Lots of beautiful architecture. That old square is spectacular.

Yeah Brussels is beautiful, the only issue were the aggressive panhandlers, who get mad when you ignore them.

Sweden is nice, it's far from a shithole. Even Malmo which has the infamous ghetto is super nice elsewhere.

Aye, that would be interesting. I assume a high profile individual is much easier to track than an average Joe.

Thanks Dwazza. I figured so. Like exceptions based on their profession etc. makes sense.

Don’t know about other countries but Chris brown is still banned from the UK to this day for beating up Rihanna
