He is 24, Box-to-Box.. Scores, Passes well.. Loads of potential and IMO will definitely come for less than 20M GBP.. I would say about 15-17M GBP.. Especially since his contract is due to expire in June 2012. Although it seemed at one point that he wanted a transfer to Bayern.. His club have dismissed that and have said that if they sell they will only sell him abroad.. However today it seems he said he is happy to play out his contract with Bayer and play in the CL for them..

I have thought for a while now that we were probably after some CM who was playing in the Copa America and we were thus waiting for it to finish.. It would explain how we have not bought a CM yet.. We have more or less finished up all our other summer transfers well before our pre season training began..

P.S Strange how Sir Matt opened a thread in the Transfer Forum and was quoted about this thread in the football forum and his thread in the correct forum (Transfer Forum) was locked.. Anyway I had to open a new thread on him in the correct forum..

So you knew there had already been a thread about him in this forum locked because of an existing, open, thread in the football forum but decided to open a new one anyway?

Ok.

Although your Copa America theory is an interesting 1 and 1 that I hadn't considered.

I thought it was pretty clear! There should be an open thread in the Transfer forum and there isn't one.. There is one in the football forum but that would be the wrong forum to discuss his 'Transfer' right?

Football Forum was I thought where you discuss players like Vidal, their qualities and perhaps even how they might fit at United (or another club). Transfer threads are related to when there is actual transfer stories to discuss - not just transfer muppet desires.

According to the German 'kicker', Chelsea are interested as well (and have held talks in Leverkusen, nothing concrete yet though). Juventus have apparently offered 15m Euros.
Vidal obviously wants to go to Bayern (they offer a salary of 6m a year), and they are pretty confident to get their man since Vidal 'likes Germany' and pretty much gets a guarantee to win titles. Bayern coach Heynckes (who was Vidal's coach at Bayer until June 30th) said: 'Vidal wants to come to us [Bayern]. If he doesn't move this year, we'll get him on a free next summer. You usually can't keep a player who clearly wants to move away.'

Are you kidding? There is not 1 but 3 transfer stories linked into my post (Including the one Anduin just posted).. Had I posted all 3 it would have made the post not worth reading and would have been a complete mess.. I summarised all the major/vital Vidal stories of this summer into one post (with links) and for that your branding me as a muppet?

And they wonder why their stadium has been nicknamed Arroganz Arena in Germany.

Not sure about that. Bayern have struggled recently with the weight of expectations and poor management, whereas the smaller clubs have finally caught up without needing to overspend on players.

Bayern needs to shore up their defense this off season, and convince their fans that Neuer is not the devil.

Decent player. Could cover Hargreaves leaving and Fletch missing the start of the season. Thats the extent of it though, he would do nothing for our Scholes problem.

Hm not sure if I can agree there mate. They've got a seriously strong team if they can sign Vidal and I'll be amazed if they don't win the German title this year. Key is the fitness of Robben and Ribery, but even without them their team is very impressive. They'll be desperate to make the CL final in Munich as well.

Neuer; Rafinha, Boateng, Badstuber, Lahm; Vidal, Schweinsteiger, Robben, Ribery, Mueller; Gomez.

That's a world class midfield there. Not sure about the centre-backs, but it should easily be enough to secure the Bundesliga title.

He'd walk into our midfield. 10 goals from central midfield last season as well as 11 assists... he's probably one of the best box-to-box players in Europe ATM. I'd be fecking over the moon if we could sign him.

One possible transfer story that was dismissed according to you and the other saying he is happy to see out his current contract.

From there you take the leap to well we've been waiting for the finish of Copa America but, there is nothing even remotely linking to him to us - I'd say that would qualify for as muppet desires.

So far the follow ups have been discussing his quality as a player - there are no transfer discussions, so where do you think that discussion belongs?

I'll take Carrick over him next to a midfielder with top passing. Thats not Vidal

James Milner - 12 assists and 7 goals in a tougher league for Villa and those were just in the premier league alone.

I'm a fan of productive players, but its not more important than players having the skills you need.

We need a player who has shown he can pass the ball around like a master but also has shown he can produce in the final third.

Bugger that, I'll replace Denilson. We need Vidal in his own right.

It's probably on his hand, did you think to look there?

Or is it just that little kiddies anus's are on your mind?

I just meant that his whole body is irretrievably up his own hole

I mean, he thinks that teams should allow his team to beat them, due to some moral right born out of playing nice to look at pointless tippy-tappy football

You've got some fairly sick ideas about kids though mate; odd

I am simply not going to waste any more time on you and your pathetically pointless posts.. Piss off..

My apologies, I obviously thought you were going for the old cliche'd paedo angle.

I think signing someone like Vidal would 'kill' one of our young midfielders... And we know Wenger won't allow that to happen.

Amazing how a player's rep goes into orbit after a few decent performances in a sub standard international competition. Before this Copa, I'll bet most people hadn't heard of him. I live in Germany and whilst I admit I don't eat up the Bundesliga, I still don't recall him.

Big clubs has been courting Vidal long before the Coppa America.

What Devilish said.. Also who exactly told you that we are basing him off this tournaments feats? In fact I would say he had a rather poor tournament except the 1st match.. He was also at best decent at the World Cup.. He has come to the fore because of his decent showing at the World Cup followed by a good season at Bayer Leverkusen..

Also he is no muppet transfer target.. Hardly a big name player! Exactly the kind of transfer United are usually making off late.. Recent examples being the likes of Valencia, Young etc.. Young, not too expensive, room for improvement, hungry for success..

Also I know we are not linked to him.. I also didn't necessarily say we should buy him either.. I just made a thread on him because he was an interesting player and may move on as he is in his last year (Contract) He may move on from Bayer this summer or sign a new contract (unlikely) if he doesn't then he will be free to sign for any Foreign clubs on the 1st of January.. As someone mentioned he may just end up at Bayern next year on a free!

1 thing I do know is that we are in the market for a CM and he could be one of them.. We may or may not be interested and we will probably never know.. Because that is how United likes to do business off late..

My comment was more aimed at the poor Copa America than the player himself. I haven't noted this guy though despite following the bundesliga and living in Germany. I don't hear or read about him much.

You live in Germany, follow the Bundesliga and haven't noted 'this guy' who's been the best player for the German vice champions? Are you serious mate? You can't follow it really closely then.

I guess Vidal has been on most scouting reports since the 2007 U-20 world championships. He was brilliant back then, though of course inexperienced.

Reports in Spain that Sanchez will sign for Barcelona on Friday. Gino Pozzo Jr. has said on the Catalan radio station RAC1 that an agreement between Barcelona and Udinese over the transfer of Alexis Sanchez has been reached.

A few formalities are still to be completed - however, Sanchez' agent is in Italy today (apparently to complete Arturo Vidal's transfer to Juventus as he is also his agent) and will fly to Barcelona on Friday.

What's all this about then? Jaap just posted this in the Sanchez thread.. Anyone heard about this?

Which bit? From what i've heard:

Vidal - A deal is meant to be agreed with Juve, Chelsea tried to make a last ditch effort, but still looks set to join Juve.

Sanchez - Deal has been agreed with Barca after the €1M issue (seriously €1M in a near €40M deal!?) so should sign today or tomorrow.

Good buy for Juventus although with their recent track record with midfielders I expect him to fail miserably and end up at Galatasaray in twelve months.

The bold bit about Vidal of course.. It is a Vidal thread after all.. Anyway where has this been confirmed? Any links?

Nice way to respond... I was just clarifying what information you were after, it's called being helpful.:nono:

Anyway, here's your confirmation.

It basically says that he's close to Juventus for a rumored fee of 12m
