Arsenal 2020/21 - General Discussion

That would probably be the end for me this. Difficult enough to accept the disgustingly rich, careless absent american owner. Qatar and oil money would be a step too far.
You are entitled to support arsenal mate. New owner doesn't change your life time love for the club.

So you're actually posting some article in Arabic as proof without bothering to translate it?

I google translated the article. Seems to be based on a single tweet. No idea how legitimate the person who tweeted is.

Speculation about the Qatari tendency to invest in the Premier League comes after a tweet written by Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, the former president of the Qatari Al Arabi Club, who had previously dealt positively with the news of Paris Saint-Germain in the previous period, especially by announcing the contract with the legend Lionel Messi before the official announcement. He also tweeted through his account on "Twitter", in which he stated "the next period .. 7 months" and attached the logo of the English club Arsenal

Google Translate tells us that Cheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, the previous president of Qatari Al Arabi Club who had some intel about PSG (?) and announced in advance that Messi was joining PSG has tweeted that after positive results in France, Qatar is looking to do it again in England and Arsenal is the club targeted to be bought in the coming year for around 7.5 billion.

Arsenal is worth around 3bn, even adding on stadium debts and the rest that seems a bit of an overpay no ? If that number is true Kroenke will bite their hands off.

Think it's the same guy who trash tweeted this about Real's pursuit of Mbappé
despite not actually being involved with PSG at all, or with "Qatar" for that matter. Some distant relative without any say, position or influence but apparently with appetite for publicity. The Jan-Aage Fjorthoft of the Qatari royal family, I guess.
Anyway, it's BS.

Ah. Ok. Attention seeking twat. Thanks.

Hoping we are quite active in the last few days.

Leno
New RB - White - Gabriel - Tierney
Partey - Xhaka
Saka - Odegaard - ESR
Auba

Ramsdale
Chambers - Holding - Mari - Tavares
Lakonga - Elneny
Pepe - Aouar - Martinelli
Lacazette

Okonkwo
Cedric
AMN

Is a relatively healthy squad for this season, and i'd be quite happy with that. But would mean the below, which is a lot to get out the door. Torreiras fee next summer would cover Aouar permanently. Saliba will be back and hopefully take Cedric place in the squad. Then next summer i'd focus on selling replacing Laca who leaves for free with a big striker, and selling Elneny and getting in another DM, so in theory not much business required., 2 in and 2 out.

In: (£25m)

RB - £25m
Aouar - Loan with option for £15m

Out: (£25m)

Runarsson - Free
Bellerin - £10m
Kolasinac - Free
Willian - Free
Nketiah - £15m
Balogun - Loan
Nelson - Loan

Not only do i doubt Lyon allow us to take Aouar on loan but i also doubt Fiorentina will take on the 15M option on Torreira. He's on 75k pw and will only have one year left. He's sure as hell not signing an extension. They will use him and replace him with any random flavor of the year italian youngster from within Serie A.
Hopefully Nketiah gets done and we get these 10/12M. Unless Arteta is still here, the new manager will probably find a way to finally shift Xhaka out of the club or at least to a bench role.

There's been a lot of work done, yet without a surprise, we'll meet again next summer needing a main RB, main CM and even harder, pricier to get: a new star striker.
Another 100M window already upon us

Fee for Tavares > Messi. Doesn't really mean much without context.

Fee for White > Varane + Ronaldo!
Imagine signing Sancho, Varane and Cristiano f***ing Ronaldo and the first thing you think about is 8th placed Arsenal

" If Ronaldo signs for us then I am going to unload everything I got on this thread. Just waiting... "

Yes, i'm hurt. Please don't hurt me, i would not want to anger a mad lad like you :nervous:

:D all in good humor mate.

Irony is, no matter how bad your team is, somehow your feckers will find a way to beat us. You will have a good laugh then.

The fact that I even feel any sympathy for Arsenal right now is a testament to how far they’ve fallen. From truly hating them when the thuggery from the likes of Keown, which is the rival I grew up hating, was prominent, to now, where when I think of Arsenal I am at worst indifferent, at best empathetic, just shows how much they’ve regressed for the ingrained hate to dissipate.

I've never seen a squad care so little about getting a pasting. Auba has zero interest in doing anything except bullying lower league teams.

20th placed Arsenal*

Nailed on for relegation with Arteta as manager. He's the worst I've seen at a top club. Also, The Arsenal owners make the Glazers look like Philanthropists.

Just a limp, feeble, disgraceful, spineless performance. The lack of fight in this side is staggering.

And Arteta seems to have fooled the footballing establishment into thinking he’s some sort of tactical wizard in waiting when he’s no more or less accomplished at coaching than a lampard and needs to go to Scotland or the lower leagues to actually learn to walk before he can run.

I’m disgusted and furious and I’m not even an Arsenal fan.

Anyone want to say 'too good to go down'. Because although you would expect City to beat them, that was spineless, spiritless and shambolic in a way that might be very hard to pull out of.

There's a decent chance they could lose every league game this season and be known as "the vincibles".
