DT has just put 7 Arsenal players in a combined Arsenal/Spurs Xl despite telling us all season they're so low down because of the players

His credibility is in the gutter!

If it's a combined XI with a side who's only 7 points clear of his side then I don't see the controversy? it's not like he's put 7 Arsenal players in a combined Arsenal/City XI

He does the same whenever he picks a combined 11 and then when they lose, just blames the player to protect his lover arteta. He is a weirdo.

The strangest part of it is Arteta isn't even an Arsenal legend, you could almost understand it if he was doing this for Thierry Henry but he's going all out to defend a man who was an okay player during the peak Wenger banter years, it's so odd.

Dan, you tell everyone that Arsenal had a better squad than Lampards Chelsea last year (multiple times) but when we discussed a combined XI we only had about 4 Arsenal players?! :D

He made Tierney/Reguilon seem like an uncontentious decision even though the whole world aside from Arsenal fans can see that Reguilon is a a superior LB, and that after saying that Cedric is better than Aurier and Doherty.

He then put Saka on the right and omitted Bale’s name when mocking Spurs lesser RWs like Lamela and Bergwijn, as if no one would notice. Could have easily played Hojbjerg instead of Saka too, and played a 4-3-3. His excuse, “I don’t rate Hojbjerg”

Oh, and he even said in another video that atm, Arteta is a better manager than Mourinho. Pure clownery.

Leno (Kepa), Tierney (Alonso), Partey (*Kante), Saka (Willian), Auba (Abraham) and Gabriel (any of our CB's). So that's 6, some would possibly argue you'd get both CB slots given we conceded 54 goals.

*Kante of last season

Im pretty sure at the time you were excluding Partey as he had only played about 2 games. Not sure you were giving us Gabriel at the time, or maybe it was Pulisic over Saka, can't remember, don't know how to go back & check.

If your giving us 2 centre backs, are you saying Luiz who everyone was laughing at Arsenal for buying from yous?

In fairness, combined Best XIs aren't always the best way to judge which overall team is better. One player can elevate an entire team by some distance (like Fernandes does with United) while the other team has more quality players with fewer extreme outliers, so it's entirely possible that the more successful team in a given season would have fewer players in the Best XI.

That said, with Arsenal and Spurs, it's fairly clear-cut that it isn't a 7-4 Arsenal majority.

Have I missed something with Partey or why would he start for any team in the PL without any question according to DT? Missed a lot of games and had a couple of decent and a couple of mediocre performances as far as I have seen.

Must be based on reputation

He was good against us at OT but awful in the game at the Emirates

Leno
Aurier Alderweireld Gabriel Reguilon
Hojbjerg
Partey Ndombele
Bale Kane Son

This is the best I can come up with. I rate Saka a lot, but his current top level is not a patch on an in form Bale, who is top class. We’ll see how he develops. Currently, it’s 8-3 to Spurs imo. Aubameyang is unlucky but this season, he has been nowhere near Kane and Son, and he can’t play on the right.

Arteta was actually a very vital player for Arsenal in the era post Fabregas, Van Persie etc. Not quite a legend but an important player and the best Arsenal captain I've seen.

Him along with Mertersacker really helped push the team on from 2013-2017. Since they both left Arsenal have been mediocre.

They just cheered Son's injury like a goal and have now spent the last 5 mins backtracking on it, pleading innocence and 'its just banter bruv'

At least big Claude isn't there this time, to try and pretend that calling Son "DVD" was in reference to Tottenham's love of bringing a DVD out

Oh dear.

Don't think I would swap Tierney for Reguilon. Not sure id swap him for anyone in the league.

You’d swap for Luke Shaw. Come on now man.

Nope, although he has looked much better this season as well. Not saying Tierney is necessarily the better player just now, but don't think he's a big enough upgrade to warrant me wanting to change.

Robertson, yeah, he'd probably be the only 1 I'd swap just now. However, there's lots of us Scots always felt Tierney had a potential higher ceiling.

Its not me Arsenal fan boying. I couldn't say the same for any other player in our squad, there's no other position in our team we're even close to maybe having the best player. And I'm not a Tierney fan boy, because I'm a Rangers fan & used to hate him & thought he was a bit overrated.

Shaws been better than Robertson but you'd take the later and not the former? Makes zero sense that

It's a personal thing. 28 so do not remember Adams too well, only started watching football properly aged 9.

Viera of course was a magnificent player and leader but often disrespected the club. Like I said it's a personal choice.

Robertson has shown he can perform at a top level over a couple of seasons now, his attacking stats were ridiculous, like the rest of Liverpool he's having a blip. Shaw was struggling to be recognised as good enough for an England call up until his good form recently.
