I know it's all click biathlon, but we've been "linked" with dozens of players. Some seemed more serious than others, but nobody seems to be coming at the moment.

Given past experience I’d be more shocked if we had signed anyone this early

It's definitely frustrating to hear very little news on this front, but I really hope there's work being done behind the scenes. It would be a massive step back if we didn't strenghten.

In before the lock. Don’t we have a thread like this already. The hysterical negativity because we don’t have a new shiny thing yet is embarrassing

We should but the question should be when? We’ll be lucky if we get anyone in before pre season the way it’s going. The sale of the clubs dragging on and won’t be helping.

Not until we're sold. So we'll be busy in August.

Small chance we'll have Mount wrapped up before then just because that's an easy deal to do.

It’s the first week, I doubt we’ve even identified who it is we’re going to spend all summer chasing in vain.

When was the last time we got our signings in before pre-season in any case. There’s always an excuse, even if the sale is more valid than others we’ve been forced to accept.

Doesn’t even seem that we are set on our targets yet, worrying.

Most likely a backup keeper and a striker nobody has heard of much similar to Wout but hopefully better! Someone from out of nowhere.

This could be the worst transfer window in recent memory.

Can see us getting Mount and Hojlund and that's it.

Unable to offload players like Maguire, McT, Martial, etc.

Will depend on how many players we are able to shift between now and mid-July. If we can shift Maguire, Fred, Mctom, Henderson for good money we're going to sign a few players. If not, it might be one or two or even none.

If we got Hojlund and Mount and no one else we're definitely not winning the PL and CL -- which we're probably not going to win anyway even if we got Kane and De Jong -- but we would be in the hunt for second place and a decent run in the CL. And hopefully by next summer the club will finally be in proper hands and the Glazers long gone and we can start running United like a proper football club again and not the farce that it has become.

Despite allegedly horrifying form of De Gea, who can't even take crap now without being hammered for how he cleans his anal orifice, we actually had a pretty defensive record last year. We conceded only 10 more goals than City. But where we fell apart was in goals scored: City 94, United 58. Hojlund will not score 30 goals for us, but if we can score 15 he suddenly gives us the striker option that Martial just can't, the danger he presents should open space for Rashford, Sancho, Antony and Garnacho depending on which two of the three are on the pitch with him.

As for Mount, he's magician but he's an upgrade on the version of Eriksen that we have now.

It will go into August, fans will protest and then Glazers will act and purchase a high profile player for more than they are worth. Story of every window.

And then most fans will look back and use that as evidence that "acktually we had a great window".

Doesn't look like it, it's been open for 7 whole days and most players are on international duty and we still haven't bought anyone, so any movement in the next two months seems unlikely

Probably yes. Based on recent years, we usually leave it until the very last minute for no good reason. We either missed out our first choice target or end up paying a premium for it. I thought after Woodward left this will change, apparently not.
I kind of envious with other clubs that have a proper transfer team that has a clear plan and secure their players early and at reasonable fee. Unfortunately our rivals City and Liverpool have been good at that.

We’ll feck around for a month or two first.

You have to wonder what the directors discuss in their weekly and monthly strategy and update meetings.

“We should put our entire budget on Mount”!

I feel like the caf has collectively asked this question every June for the past decade

we spend more than anyone, I think we can relax at this point

Until we are took over. Then yes, maybe the last day of Aug or next window

UK’s Windows been open a week, Europes window doesn’t open until July, do you feel the need to spread unnecessary panic?

I know it's not so recent now but nothing will top the fellaini summer

I know it would be really short odds but it is still a really good bet that we will sign someone.

Considering so far across all premiership clubs there has been a grand total of 13 transfers, I'd say there really isn't much to worry about.

I repeat that, 13 transfers with three of them being bosman signings and three being for the same team.
Across 20 clubs.

13.
