Are the lads back in training yet?

Wrong on both accounts.

So you are telling me he is not the only player in our squad in last two years since covid started who got covid excuse for poor performances? From his fans, not him, I trust him when he said he felt shortness of breath, etc., but even after that people were using covid excuse for his poor form.

And coincidentally, he is somehow the only player in our squad who is affected by long term covid(again, judging by his fans) in two years.

Pogba was actually healthy as it has been said by his manager at that time, it was excuse for his general poor performances, which continued even after few months.
Where is the proof of this? I've never seen anything said like that at all.

So you think the club and Pogba faked having long Covid because he was in poor form? Delusional

Pogba himself said he was tired very quickly and out of breath after recovering from Covid.

The "excuses" were only for the start of the season and even Ole admitted he rushed playing him in that period.

What? Faking long covid, who said that?

Do you understand that having long covid means players would be out of the games all together, and not play and having long covid.

Having post covid side effects and having long covid are completely different things.

Dean Henderson had long term covid.

Good to see Cavani back again. Where is Varane? :nervous:

I watched some tiktok video of a United fan's predictions for the season and Varane being injured for most of it was one I thought nothing of at the time.
Spot on so far unfortunately!

You've got that completely wrong. You don't test positive with long covid.

Who said he was tested positive? You are changing your tune now, after laughing at my opinion.

Pogba didn't have long covid, or at least not "worst" version of long covid, otherwise he wouldn't be playing football for longer than those few weeks he was out, like Kimmich for example has(someone mentioned Dean Henderson too).

He had shortness of breath in next few weeks/months after getting over covid, which is something many people had after catching covid, that's not called long covid.

I haven’t changed anything, you’re the one back peddling. Didn’t test positive?

And yes, shortness of breathe and long term fatigue IS a symptom of long covid. do some research before spouting rubbish.

So Cristiano Ronaldo, Donny van de Beek, Paul Pogba, Diogo Dalot, Jadon Sancho, Phil Jones, Tom Heaton, and Dean Henderson were still absent today.

Cristiano will return fitter than before he left.

What the hell are you talking about?

I am completely aware that:
- Pogba had corona virus
- He was obviously tested positive in the first week or two
- he wasn't tested positive for long covid(this is something that you mentioned, I said he didn't have long covid, or at least the harded type of long covid except shortness of breath, otherwise he would be far more out than just few weeks, and you mentioned "testing positive for long covid", which I have no idea what it means

And now you are trying to prove me that he was generally tested positive for corona virus. Incredible.

I am out.

Your initial point to start the argument was that excuses were made for months for his poor performances (while he was healthy according to you) and that these excuses had no basis in reality, and now for some reason you’ve shifted the argument to revolve around the semantics of what long covid is, despite admitting that he had an extended period of fatigue and shortness of breath, which could well affect a top athlete’s performance levels.

Well yeah, the problem with Pogba is that he had excuse for months after covid(which I said), which is too much considering his manager played him regulary during that time, which again means that he wasn't at risk probably since we had other options in his place. He was just in bad form, which didn't have much to do by his fitness considering his perormances.

How do you know if it was too much? And at risk of what? You admitted that he suffered from shortness of breath and fatigue longer than the usual seven day period that someone with very mild symptoms would be out for. So if he had those problems for a month or two, couldn’t it conceivably take, say, another month or so to really get back to full fitness? I mean, any two month layoff would leave the player off the pace once he returns to training, which would increase the actual time to full fitness to longer than those two months.

To outright dismiss it as poor excuses is harsh, and it’s not like Ole didn’t have the bad habit of playing players regardless of whether they were fit or not (Pogba v Rochdale, Maguire after injury, Rashford and McTominay playing injured, Varane rushed back).

Those are one time games, Pogba was regular starter back then. I don't think our club would rush back player from covid.

We'll see what will happen after this covid crisis we have, but I doubt excuses will be served like we've had with Pogba.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea believes his team-mates are thriving from 'very intense' training sessions under new boss Ralf Rangnick, saying the squad have responded with 'energy and pace'

'It's great. It's good to have the whole team back to train properly altogether and then of course see they are all safe,' he told the club's official website.

They are back, they are all training, they are fine so it's great to be together again.

'We've been training hard, of course. It's very intense, every training session, every moment with him [Rangnick] is intense,' added our no.1.

He said United were still adapting to Rangnick's methods after he was appointed as interim boss for the remainder of the season - and added they were keen to ensure their hard work pays off when they approach their next big game.

You have to give 100 per cent every time in training and in the games. Let's see. It's just the beginning, it's been a couple of weeks, so let's see in the future.

'The team is training with energy, with pace, and now we have to show that in big games.'

Twice a week has spoiled me.. I miss football.

Do we have any decent matches to watch before the pre season (1 month away)

Greenwood is back doing some training but no idea whether it is Carrington or not.

It was a public pitch and a private session as you say, nothing to do with us/Carrington

Don’t think you can rule out it not being us being involved, but I expect we’ll get some idea of his future soon.

ETH comments show he wants him in the squad.

Heart sank when I saw the mis-leading tweets.

Glad to get clarification it was a private session and hopefully not involving the club in anyway. Get rid.

Shameful comments in this thread already but not surprised

Which comments exactly? I don't think anyone said anything wrong yet, stop accusing people.

Also this is just the first time he's been pictured training privately since his suspension. In reality, he's probably been doing this for a while, just hasn't been pictured the whole time. So it's not really news.
