Turan has never been an attacker, he's always been in midfield. He was at his best for Atletico playing in a narrow midfield quartet and spent as much time for Barcelona in centre mid as he did on the wing. He was just generally rubbish.

I must have imagined this then...
I agree he could be loosely described as a winger throughout his career, but in reality he was always more of an industrious #10 with enough pace to play out wide and not enough creativity to have the freedom to play as a #10 for a top club. At Atletico he was a winger in the same way Koke was a winger i.e. not at all. He was more suited to playing out wide but he was never a wide forward, and as such isn't comparable to the front three.
The closest comparison at Barca would be to Iniesta in his younger days, switching between a wide attacking role and centre mid. Or perhaps someone like Denis Suarez now. The fact he's probably less impactful than D. Suarez at the moment should tell you all you need to know about how unfairly he's being treated.

It is worth noting that Arda's best couple of games for Barcelona happened during the start of 2016/17 season from the left wing while Neymar was injured/sick for the first four league games or so. He was actually very good, scored a couple of goals too and looked much more comfortable than in central midfield. Obviously the minute Neymar returned he was relegated to the bench.
He's sort of been used at Barca in the way that Ancelotti often used Di Maria at Real, in that he's a player who primarily was used out wide (at Ateltico in Arda's case) and has been used more as a "shuttler" or a wide midfielder in a three who can overlap down the wings as well. It's a useful way of getting width when you have a winger who likes to cut in. In Arda's case, it allowed Neymar to cut in, and Busquets and Rakitic would hold in midfield as Arda played out wide. With Di Maria at Real, it was Ronaldo cutting in.
No he doesn't. He is exactly the opposite of a typical Jose player. He said he wanted to go Barcelona because he wanted to run less for example. He has not played regularly for almost 2,5 years now and he is extremely lazy. For example, he came like 10 kg's more than he should to Turkey's Euro 2016 camp. Not to mention his passive aggressive protest over bonus payments from the TFF. He recently tried to choke a journalist for writing a column on this ffs.
He might have been a good option 3 years ago. Not now. He would distrupt the harmony of this great squad.
He wouldn't suit us in my opinion. Might be good for someone like Arsenal or Liverpool though.

I did say he was a rubbish transfer for Barca at the time. Sigh.
