Anwar El Ghazi

What do you think of Sheraldo Becker? He seems to be having a good start for Zwolle. On loan from Ajax.

Edit: @Lordyfw @NL Max

In the (limited) time I've watched him play, he did well. Was send on loan to PEC Zwolle in last January and this summer again. Had a small injury in I believe it was February, but after that played his games and played them well enough to convince the direction of Zwolle to hire him again. He's played all the matches so far, scored 2 and had 3 assists, which is reasonably well for a youngster. He's got the pace, the physique and the drive forward to succeed as a winger, although I don't think that will be in the Ajax-jersey. He simply has to much competition in El Ghazi, Fischer, Çerny, Muric and since this season Sinkgraven. Only 2 wingers can play at the same time, and I don't think he will be chosen over any of them. He can sometimes be very selfish IMO aswell, but overall has a good mentality, so it seems. It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up like Lens did. a proper eredivisie-player, earning a move to a respectable club in another competition.

Why the interest in him, if I may ask?

At the start of van Gaal's tenure.
If that's the case, than he earned a spot in LVG's/Woody's transfer-notebook aswell with his debute-season performances :)

To me he is actually. Makes up my top 3 with Klaassen and Bazoer.
Really? Well, it's just personal preference. But he's got an amazing left foot, that's for sure! Not many on this planet have such a good shot in their left foot as he has, so powerfull... But he must make BIG progress concerning his foorballing abilities. He's a bit like Huntelaar I would say. Lethal in and near the box, but that's about it. If he does that, he can be a great great striker.

Still not near a top-3 spot in my list or that of anyone I know though. :)

I'm just generally interested in Dutch football and usually watch some games from Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord. This season I didn't have the chance to catch a game yet, but kept up with results and read up on the stats of some players. Becker caught the eye there. Thanks for the reply!

You're welcome mate! Glad that I could help you with this. Good to see there are some who still have interest in our small 'Mickey-Mouse' league :)

What about Hakim Ziyech lads? Eredivisie is great for developing young talents as they have the freedom to play in an attacking way. Ziyech looks like a real talent in that no.10 position.

Yeah, it's a personal preference. Also, I have not been able to catch as much Ajax games as I did last year so I don't have the best material to compare anymore. At any rate, talent enough there.

Involved in 23 of the last 24 goals that Twente scored I believe. Impressive.

I haven't seen much of FC Twente, but last year they had an incredibly bad season, finishing in 10th place. From the games that I did see and from what I've read and heard, the football was absurdly shitty, the financial department was struggling and therefor Twente got 6 points penalty (do you say that like this in English?). They had to sell some of their most important players (such as Bjelland (CB) , Castaignos (CS) and Corona (RW)) and a higly talented youngster/first eleven player (Ould-Chick) left them. Following this was a desastrous start of the new season, earning 2 points in 5 matches. Though, within all this shitness, Ziyech was one of the few who actually performed. He was one of the few who actually made the crowd happy with his play.
He was linked to Schalke 04 aswell last summer, in their attempt to play better (read: with more attacking technique) football.
But instead Ziyech chose to help his club and stay, being their captain in his 2nd season now.

About the Eredivisie, yes, it's a great place for youngsters. Getting game-time early in their carreer (taking Ajax as an example, the average age of the first eleven is 21.2 yo, with the captain, Davy Klaassen, being 22 yo, whilst the average age of all the first teammembers is 23.2), actually being a person and a player, instead of being a number, who happens to be playing in the youth-department for clubs like Manchester City or Real Madrid. And maybe above all, in the Eredivisie technique and tactical awareness is important, something I think you can only truly learn at a relative young age.

Yeah you said it right, Twente are a mess. I've seen him a few times and he seems to carry the team single handedly, yeah I heard Wolfsburg were looking to him to replace De Bruyne. Any idea why he hasn't played for Holland yet, Sneijder's time seems to be up.

Yeah the Eredivisie seems to be made up of so many youngsters, its also great for bets as there are goals galore in every game haha, no boring games.

Probably because our midfield is currently crowded with 'good enough' midfielders, who are reasonably to very talented. Klaassen, Clasie, Wijnaldum, Pröpper and Blind (he can play anywhere on the pitch really, so let's count him as a midfielder now) come to mind here. And then we have the likes of Anita, De Gúzman and Affalay, who are more experienced and the former great players Sneijder, Van der Vaart en De Jong and only 3 can play at the same time in the Dutch system. Long story short, it's because he isn't clearly better than his competition, and then it's up to preference of the coach. Apparantly both Hiddink and Blind think he isn't the better choice.

Most matches include several goals yea haha, but sometimes it's more interesting to see a 0-0 match with sudden attacks and a high pace, than it is to see a slower, more tactical match with some goals.

Announced today he'll play for the Dutch NT, hereby rejecting the Maroccan football nationality. A good thing, following yesterdays announcement of Ziyech (who will play his international career in the Maroccan jersey, instead of the Dutch one).
Also got himself his first-ever pre-selection in the Dutch NT (for the EC-qualifiers against Kazachstan and Czech Republic), and likely to be picked by Danny Blind for the official selection.
He's the current topscorer of Ajax and the Dutch Eredivisie aswell, scoring 7 in 6 matches.

Good player this lad, seen him a few times last season, gets on the ball alot and has a goal in him, Netherlands do have alot of talent out wide though, which could be his only issue.

A good talent but still has the tendency to fade away in matches, although that's natural for young players I suppose..

Big mistake from the KNVB and mostly Blind. Ziyech should have been called up last time and should have played instead of Ajax player Klaassen. I would rather have Ziyech in my team instead of El Ghazi.

Same for me. But it is as it is. Ziyech won't play for us and I'm glad El Ghazi chose the Dutch NT.

They're totally different players so dont get the comparison. Although I'd have Ziyech in the team surely, but he's also so different to Klaassen.
