Antony | On loan to Real Betis

He'll be back in June and we'll be searching for more mugs to loan him for the season
Hopefully he does well enough so Betis or another team is willing to pay 25-30M for him. If he does badly then we'll be stuck with him until his contract expires. So good luck to him.

Seems like we've done a decent deal on wages for once.
But still that slightly horrible memory that we banged 80-90m on this fella.

He started reasonably, a few bangers. But even the daftest fan realised very very quickly he was absolutely outrageously one footed and incredibly limited.

Ten Hag letting this go through was utterly mental. But a manager will always say yes to a new player in the main.

This David Lynch tribute is the only good thing to come of Antony’s time with us.

One of the worst PL signings ever.

La Liga should suit him better though.

If he was a £15m punt from the Dutch league, or came through the youth ranks, I don't think he'd be a bad squad option. But for £86 million he's got to be one of the worst signings in football history, not just United.

And yes, I do blame Ten Hag. There's no way that signing goes through without his say-so.

You don’t need pace, decision making or ability on your weaker foot in La Liga?
Not to the extent you do in the PL, La Liga is a lot less physical and slower, some of the best players don't have pace and are not great on their weaker foot, decision making is obviously very important but that's made a bit easier because you have more time to make it

As a massive Twin Peaks and David Lynch (God rest his soul) fan, this is brilliant!

At first, you think it should have been reserved for a better player but actually the surreal choice is quite fitting
The Eraserhead reveal made me burst out laughing. Amazing

Looking at the Betis video, we should use this to welcome Antony back when he returns this summer cause we can't sell him:

I bet that reference went right over the heads of utdreport.

This is the best announcement video ever. A Lynch retrospective at its best. The Twin Peaks and Mulholland Drive scenes were classy, the Lost Highway bit perfect, I nearly fell off my chair in that Blue Velvet moment, but the Eraserhead finale was what Antony isn't - world class. Absolutely amazing work.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he looked half decent for them.

I think he struggled with the price tag, and never got himself going. Another season or two at Ajax and he might of been a better punt.

Not saying he’d of ever been worth what we paid, but he shouldn’t have been so bad.
