Tony Santos came from Brazil
English press said he had no chancezil
100 million down the drain
Tony Santos showboats again

Hopefully Antony drops a few ponies in the oppositions box.

The fans will be delighted with him, but we would be even better with a big CF who could hold up the ball or break it down for him.

Well, he has the x-factor atleast. Lets hope he can give this team the spark it desperately needs!

I really hope he is worth his price-tag and that this wont bring pressure. However… if it is spending on these players or dividend for the glazers, i rather we pay the double for Bebe.

If we're getting a potentially undisputed RW for Brazil, then I'm really really excited for the future.

really happy with this signing, the only thing I care about is ETH trusts him and much like Martinez he wants to be with Erik at this club.

if he puts in the same amount of passion and commitment as Martinez and malacia then we’re in a good place.

Looks super exciting and actually fits a hole in the squad we've had for a long time. That being said, I hope he has a better career than the one hitherto Martial has had.

On the YouTube videos, he seems to be exclusively right wing, coming in from that wing to score with his left foot to score but he can use his right foot too, which will keep defenders guessing.

So wanted this transfer to happen. A left footed RW dancing down the wing at OT, can't wait. I think if he fulfills his potential, we could have a world class player in the squad. Here's hoping he delivers.
Also, quite like the fact that ETH has come in and targeted 2 of the positions (RW/DM) in dire need of quality players.

We were told for weeks that de Jong was our target buy!
We end up with yet another overpriced panic buy.
Do we never learn!

He likes to take the mickey out of opponents a la Nani. Needs to watch it a bit and focus more on the essentials. Welcome!

People are talking about his dribbling quite a lot, and whilst I don't want to bring negativity to the thread, I did a bit of research on the dribbling stats of our current wingers.

According to whoscored.com, a dribble (Successful Dribble) - Taking on an opponent and successfully making it past them whilst retaining the ball.

With that in mind, I looked at the dribbling stats from the 20/21 season and found the following:

Marcus Rashford - 20/21

Total Dribbles (per game) : 4.4
Unsuccessful: 2.2
Successful: 2.2

Jadon Sancho - 20/21

Total Dribbles (per game) : 5.3
Unsuccessful: 2.3
Successful: 3

Antony - 20/21

Total Dribbles (per game) : 3.3
Unsuccessful: 1.4
Successful: 1.8

Based on that, it's clear that he doesn't dribble as much some expected, and Jadon Sancho, who has been criticized on here for his lack of dribbling or directness, clearly excelled in this area when at Dortmund. For that reason, we need to realise that Antony isn't going to come in and beat 3 or 4 players. That said, it's clear he has quite a good skillset and hopefully he can bring that to the team.

Interesting point. Look at how our defence has improved since we dropped Shaw and Maguire who have both been indecisive, soft, hesitant and not anywhere near agressive enough.

Hopefully Anthony can have a similar affect on our attack to what Malacia and Martinez are having on our defence. We have been far too soft for fae too long.
Here's Antony and Malacia going up against each other, pretty feisty stuff.

Find it a bit irritating that they make it look like you clicking on a video link, only for it to direct you to the Man Utd website. You have to click on the twitter side to get to the twitter short video.

Anyway. Get in. Again.

benefit of Antony, is EtH has worked with him and knows exactly where to play him.
considering we have no true RW options and to my knowledge antony is a left footed rw this should finally solve it. We have plenty of players who play best on the LW and none on the right ha.

Not directed at you directly, but I wish people would bore off with all these stats. How about using the MK1 eyeball and actually seeing the impact he has on games. For example teams may feel the need to double up on him allowing others more space, etc…

Stats can be manipulated to suit an agenda and rarely give the true picture.

Elegantly put.
