If Ten Hag is ready for it and Antony is ready for it then I am also ready for it.

Who do we think he will take the place of? Sancho cost £££'s though not ETH signing, so one would think Rashy?

What's his work rate like is he going to be lazy a la Rashford with no tracking back or is he good at tracking back/pressing etc?

If he does well rival fans are going to hate him he has one of those faces and looks quite flamboyant with his piercings etc, plus his fee.

Hope he proves to be a great signing

Elanga?

He's a fantastic player. I'm sure you'll love him. He and Martinez will be missed in Amsterdam.

Need him badly, our forwards have so much space but constantly make poor decisions with it.

Not playing bad but this Leicester side is awful.

I don't wanna see him on the bench against Arsenal. If he's fit, he has to start. Elanga is not it.

He plays with a lot of intensity. Very much cut from the Firmino, Richarlison cloth.

Think a lot of people are underestimating how much of an impact Antony can have. In this Leicester game and others you can see defenders pressing elanga on his first touch because his touch is not the best. When he turns into space he's better but his touch is basic Contrast that to sancho where it seems defenders don't want to get too close. With antony I think that weakness we have with elanga on the right should be shored up allowing us to play even better through a press and help us on transitions.

Uh, elanga?

My goodness, I can't wait to see him in the team for Elanga against Arsenal. The upgrade will be immense.

Needs to start on Sunday, we are trash in attack.

When he first signed for Ajax I had my doubts. Didn't take me long to realise that his goal/assist stats are deceiving. You've got to take into account the system, and the league he's achieved this in. The Eredivisie is a playground for attacking football, where the assists and goals are widely spread througout the whole team, especially Ajax.
Antony is a baller that needs double coverage when on the ball, having the skills to dribble his way out, or hold it while creating space and time for teammates to get their g/a stats up.

I am sure he can make the step up to the Premier League, he has the confidence and ability to do so. Going to miss seeing him at Ajax, yet thrilled he signed for the one and only team in Manchester. The fee he was signed on will soon be forgotten.

I really want him to take the 11 shirt... please please please! Unlike Jones, United shouldn't feel obligation to hold the 11 for Mason.

Predictions?

21
24
?

Will wear 21 according to this guy

Surprised he didn't get 11 tbh.

He'll replace Sancho or Elanga as Rashford is immune from being benched apparently, no matter how many times he proves to be terrible.

I expect we'll see Martial come back in when fit, so it'll be:

Rashford - Martial - Antony

Or

Sancho - Rashford - Antony

When Martial is crocked (so most of the time)

#11 will be banging them in again before the season's out.

I remember watching Ajax's games against Dortmund last season in Champions League mainly to see how good Gravenberch was, but Antony was the one who caught my eye. He was very impressive.

Even though he is predominantly left-footed he delivered some beautiful crosses with his right foot in those games. Sat there thinking there's no way this guy is going to stay long at Ajax. Delighted that it was us who signed him. I'm convinced he will be a success for us.
Who else stood out in that game ? How was Martinez?

Hope we're not still holding out hope for our current number 11 to return.

Nah. There's just nothing to gain from prompting more stories about he who must not be named.

Also, given the possibility some form of legal dispute arising between Voldemort and the club in the future, I would think the club would be slow to do anything to suggest they had come to a conclusion on his future before his legal situation had actually played out.

Honestly? I didn't even pay attention to their entire defence let alone Martinez.

Haller was another one, but he was obviously noticeable in those games as he scored couple of goals. Probably why Dortmund bought him.

I'd imagine we're just wary of making any sort of headlines regarding him.

Officially he still has number 11. If they were to take it off. Like MF11 above says if it’s removed it will create headlines and unnecessary questions around that scumbag.

11 Seems fecking cursed anyway. I’d retire that number if I were Man Utd. Both who have had it have turned out to be horrible horrible people.

Retiring the number would also create unnecessary headlines. I know football people tend to be superstitious, but it's just a number, the idea of a curse and/or retiring it because the last two players that had it were dickheads is a bit ridiculous
