I guess that if we pay that and say… 70m for de Jong, that’s our alleged 120m budget done.Isn't the quoted price only 50m?

Really it's somewhere between 100 and 150m. If FdJ, Antony and Dumfries are real targets, they would total to probably 140m, so I'm sure we'd be able to do that. Those 3 and possibly Eriksen would be a great window IMO.I guess that if we pay that and say… 70m for de Jong, that’s our alleged 120m budget done.
Eh, potential probably similar from a neutral POV, Ten Hag has coached Antony so if he wants him than I'd be confident about him fitting what he wants which is a huge plus for Antony.Again, makes more sense to get Raphinha for around the same price
Find me another player for that money with his qualities. Ajax usually are pretty fair with their prices.
There's no way ETH takes the job without a decent budget. There's funds, we just need to learn how to spend themIts look like we don't have money to buy new toys.
Calm down, we will sign players…it’s frustrating I know but we will!We are done.
Im already writing off next season.
We have to. If we don’t meet the assurances we’ve given EtH he could walk away too.Calm down, we will sign players…it’s frustrating I know but we will!

Hahaha the Glazers finally get a competent manager and will not back. It will be nice to see us play Mata on the right, no wait.
This! Signing this guy and a rwb could almost be as transformative as sorting the midfield out.Going into the season with Elanga as the starter for the RW spot (with one of Pellistri/Amad as his only real competition?!) would be an absolute disaster. It'd be the equivalent of sticking McTominay at DM and hoping for the best, or not bothering to replace Pogba as we've got Fred and Garner who can play CM. Getting a RW is absolutely a priority.

Or we play Sancho on the right. If Rashford is staying and heck maybe Martial we have 4 players that prefer LW including Elanga. Buying a RW just means binning Rashford because he is no way a RW. Im not saying we should continue with Rashford but we will and since we are we have to give him the platform to succeed otherwise what's the point. The only way I can see it working in any shape or form is that Sancho needs to go back to the RWGoing into the season with Elanga as the starter for the RW spot (with one of Pellistri/Amad as his only real competition?!) would be an absolute disaster. you'll only get a signed autograph for that price.Isn't the quoted price only 50m?
He has great potential but I feel it a risk because he might not be able to make immediate impact. EPL is probably too hard to him at this moment.
A proper club sorts both out not one
I value Raphinha highly. Well, ETH might have different opinions. Let’s see how things pan out.Should go and get Raphinha to feck off Barca
Liverpool aren't owned by a Sheikh, nor Real Madrid. They've both got brilliant teams and have already added players. What is a ‘proper club’? One owned by a Sheikh?

We have the worst bunch of players that we've had in a long time and are apparently not close to signing anyone right now. With pre season looming, I not only worry about who we sign, but how soon we sign them too.
You're right and I realised you were right on second reading but wanted to vent anywayI don’t think you read what I wrote.
To say a ‘proper club’ fixes every problem at once is a silly thing to say, given that players have price tags. If you have 6 problems in your first XI and you aim for quality players, your ability to fix everything in one window doesn’t determine whether you are a ‘proper club’ or not. It is purely fiscal.

And to add to your post, Liverpool in Klopp's first full season in charge with Michael Edwards promoted in a DoF role, made their first signing on the 28th of June 2016, which was the signing of Sadio Mane. They ended the window with 6 players listed below. Klopp started in his role in October 2015 and Liverpool finished the 2015/16 season in 8th place.I don’t think you read what I wrote.

We are done.

I take back my earlier comment but in relation to Klopps first season, had he lost so many players in the way we have? Pogba, Matic, Mata, Lingard, Greenwood, Cavani is a significant loss of personnel from the start of last season. And to add to your post, Liverpool in Klopp's first full season in charge with Michael Edwards promoted in a DoF role, made their first signing on the 28th of June 2016, which was the signing of Sadio Mane. If we have a window like the below, people would be in a even bigger meltdown than the one they're having now. And Liverpool hadn't won the league for over 25 years at the time, and many on this forum looked down on the signing of Sadio Mane.
Sadio Mane - £30m
Joel Matip - free
Loris Karius - £4.7m
Ragnar Klavan - £4.2m
Alex Manninger - free
Gerginio Wijnaldum - £25m
Liverpool moved on plenty of first team players in the summer of 2016, its why they signed 6 players. Below is the list of players that departed Liverpool in the window in question after they had finished 8th in the league.I take back my earlier comment but in relation to Klopps first season, had he lost so many players in the way we have? I'm firmly in the camp that they should have gone but it makes our need to add new recruits even more important.
I do understand your point and I think it offers some perspective but there are some important differences too.

There’s no way Leeds will let Raphinha go for £50 million mate and especially to us, seen reports of Leeds turning down bids of £65 million plus and Barca looking at Di Maria instead as there’s no way they can afford him.
Where have you seen Leeds turning down 65m. This has been the only report of a price tagNo way we get raphinha for 50m, and his stats aren’t much better, whilst being older. Reports suggesting they are turning down 65-70m.
Raphinha would also have to learn a new system
Any suggestion of sancho wants us to flat out ignore that last four years.
I'd be all for Antony. Worst case, he gets people off their seats and makes us enjoyable to watch again. Best case, he continues to improve and becomes an elite player.
Perfect time to buy. He has a free pass season in the EL with no expectation to bed in. We have Sancho, Elanga, Pellistri, Amad and even Rashford to cover wide right. Get Anthony in if ETH wants him and Let him take his time!He has great potential but I feel it a risk because he might not be able to make immediate impact. EPL is probably too hard to him at this moment.

A bit too many Ajax players. Are they the only thing that exists?Glazer should review the financial and authorize ETH to spend up to 200 mil so we can start bringing in players. If financing a players is dependent of selling a few, we might as well forward about it and stay mid table. This show the ambition of the owners. 200 mil, we will get Timber, Antony, FDJ, Pau Torres and 1 backup striker. The squad will be ready to start the season with a bang.
agreedAgain, makes more sense to get Raphinha for around the same price
why? Is he THAT good and surely he is a big risk? This! Signing this guy and a rwb could almost be as transformative as sorting the midfield out.
