100m? Not for me Clive.
Come on. You want a winger with no pace just because he's cheap?

It's like someone in my team who does absolutely feck all for almost a month, then he gets a kick up the arse and delivers something monumentally good that makes the bosses happy. Then they go back to spending their entire day on redcafe.net oh shit wait...The past 3 days have beenfrom the club.
Ziyech is classy player, imo. Look, it is not my money and shit like that but 80+ mil for Antony just looks wrong.Come on. You want a winger with no pace just because he's cheap?
You’re not making sense; whatever way we qualify, it would be on us to capitalise upon in it - as far as the contract clauses, it would be partially fulfilled and a portion of the bonus money then goes their way.
Our priority is getting back to being a top 4 side - it’s worth a fortune for us financially as well as in terms of appeal to sponsors and top tier players alike.

To be fair he’s 22 but point still stands
Ziyech is a number 10 by nature. That is his best position to be honest. But ya, he can also play as an inverted winger.
10 m for Ziyech is a better buy imo. Much better price / quality ratio.
Antony has the potential to become world class. But he isn't there yet.
If Antony leaves. Hopefully Ajax will buy Ziyech as a replacement
who is he a huge huge upgrade on? remember Sancho was supposedly Neymar in Germany and looks an average winger in the premier league. Its not easy to be effective here at a high output consistently
Why should we care about quality/price ratio? We're footy fans not accountants. Surely we want the best we can getZiyech is a number 10 by nature. That is his best position to be honest. But ya, he can also play as an inverted winger.

100m![]()
We either look really good or really stupid with this deal.
The only possible universe in which this makes sense is if Ronaldo's leaving resulting in a bunch of freed up wages.
So that #GlazersOut is no more the big news from the club.
Because the club doesn't have unlimited funds and overspending on one area could prevent us from strengthening elsewhere. Why should we care about quality/price ratio? We're footy fans not accountants. Surely we want the best we can get

There is no way we look "really good". This is a panic buy cause we are shit and desperate. Seriously 100 fecking million?100m![]()

IMO Sancho will be brilliant once he has a fluid attacking system and I think ETH will bring it out in him. United need attacking full backs, but with the right players, Antony and Sancho will be devastating they play with their head up.
I think it's time to ship out Rashford though.
@hellhunter Does this count as racism?I agree but not the right fit for United. We desperately need a guy that can run with the ball. Too many chiefs (Bruno, Eriksen, Sancho) and not enough Indians (Antony).
Pretty sure the club are clever enough to figure out the numbers of what we can and can't afford, and prioritise players based on that. Doesn't require randoms on the internet to get their calculator outBecause the club doesn't have unlimited funds and overspending on one area could prevent us from strengthening elsewhere.
Also the main gripe with the Glazers is not that they don't spend money ( which is the club's money anyway) but that they appoint the wrong people at all levels to spend it and make major footballing decisions. The problem is we've already had a garbage start and are in panic stations. Backing him properly would've been getting this done 2 months ago. Getting casemiro 2 months ago. Getting rid of Ronaldo if that's what EtH wants and not blocking his exit like what is reported.
Timing is very important, especially given how stacked the first few months of this season are. But anyway, long term it doesn't matter, but for immediate impact it does.
I am just talking about shifting the focus and news on social media. Of course it is always good to feel excited and optimistic about new signings. You can still want a new owner and get excited by new signings
We should not care but the club should. We have overpaid for shitload of players during the past 10 years or so and it got us nowhere. If we really pay £75m or so he better be really good, unlike our other recent £75m signing. Why should we care about quality/price ratio? We're footy fans not accountants. Surely we want the best we can get
What gives you the impression the club hierarchy knows what they're doing? They've hemorrhaged over a billion in the last 10 years.Pretty sure the club are clever enough to figure out the numbers of what we can and can't afford, and prioritise players based on that. Doesn't require randoms on the internet to get their calculator out

That's a big leap of faith!!Pretty sure the club are clever enough
They also approve us spending money on the wrong fecking players every fecking summer except last year when we got Sancho, Varane and Ronaldo. Also the main gripe with the Glazers is not that they don't spend money ( which is the club's money anyway) but that they appoint the wrong people at all levels to spend it and make major footballing decisions.
Why shouldn't you spend 15k on a 5k car. You're a car fan not an accountant. Why should we care about quality/price ratio? We're footy fans not accountants. Surely we want the best we can get
You mean, arguably, the worst run football club right now, right?Pretty sure the club are clever enough to figure out the numbers of what we can and can't afford, and prioritise players based on that. Doesn't require randoms on the internet to get their calculator out
Absolutely. And us looking resurgent - plus the financial packages we [still have to] offer - would be a new dawn for us. One you hope all the stupid, stupid mistakes and errors of the past are not part of.It's highly speculative but for example being good enough this season can mean Bellingham next summer or a similar player putting us at the top of his desired destination. Our short term action can and will help or erase our long term options.
But we have bought big after signing AWB and Maguire? Why shouldn't you spend 15k on a 5k car. You're a car fan not an accountant.
Ooooh, right - because you'll never get even half of your money back and you're stuck with an asset that no one wants on the ridiculous contract you've given him.
Why don't you buy a 15k car again the next year.
That's right - you can't because you've splunked stupidly your money last year.
Wan-Bissaka, Maguire? Seriously some people have short-term memory but come on...
Blows my mind that some posters continue to give the club the benefit of the doubt, after they've demonstrated for ten years that they have no idea what they're doing. As I said in another thread, memory of goldfish. Why shouldn't you spend 15k on a 5k car. You're a car fan not an accountant.

We need a Antony v Nunez thread who will flop best
Absolutely insane money.
We’d get Son for €100 million if we went to Spurs with that offer
