I believe they will sell the club outright and the wheels are already in motion. Pure speculation on my part though, probably wishful thinking to some degree too.

I hope so. There's a lot of smoke right now and the sale of Chelsea with the rumoured 100+ interested consortiums has to have caught their attention. I think they've realised that they can't afford any longer to run the club how they are. The investment into PL clubs will force us further out of the picture unless we can match or beat their spending.
It's just a question of whether they sell part of the club to give them funds to invest, or sell completely. I just have no faith in them giving up their grip on the club.
Though having said that, I did feel they were interested in selling when the Saudis were interested a year or two ago.

The biggest factor that will push Glazers to selling is the fact the value of the club is gradually dropping (share price). They probably won’t get a better offer in price than they would now. The worse condition the club is in the further the price will drop.
Could they believe that they can sell £1b (for example) of shares, invest into squad, facilities etc and increase value again? This would allow them to keep the train moving, so to speak.

I'm not sure, I haven't watched them regularly and avoid MOTD etc these days. Noticed him on the left quite a bit when I have seen them, and checked his stats for this season and it looks like he's been playing on the left. Always felt he was more of a 'go down the outside and whip in a cross' type player, rather than 'cut in and shoot'.
They’ve shown no willingness to invest in that way before. They’d pocket at least half then throw scraps at the club.
I'm not rattled at all. I don't want Ajax to sell but i want United to buy. So i'm happy whatever the outcome. So that makes it easy to have a rather neutral view on the deal.
With the looming economic crisis, I expect just this. They'll pocket most of it, maybe throw a 100m on a couple players to appease fans and slither away with the rest.
IF we see multiple big money links in next couple of weeks (daft things like Casemiro, De Jong AND Antony/Felix) then maybe there's something in a serious investment from outta nowhere.

1. There's no smart investor that will invest a mammoth £1Bn to only have "Part Ownership" of a stagnating franchise working along The Glazers(negative PR) in the process. All or nothing not in between
