Antonio Cassano

Cassano to Milan would be a pointless move when they already have Pato, Ibrahimovic and Robinho in the attack, it's calling for trouble because there is a limit to how many cnuts you can have in your team. Ibra, Robinho and him together would be pushing it too far.

Cassano for £0 is a brilliant signing for any club in the world.

In terms of the option of playing 4-3-3, this can be a good move, as both Cassano and Robinho can play wide. You need reserves behind the main guns. Cassano was brilliant last season in Samptdoria only to be benched this season, very strange behavior by both club and player in Genoa. Inzaghi's career might be over, he is 37 and just got a horrible injury. Rumour has it that Cassano was available for free - if so this might be a good move and they will get a excellent replacement, whom might actually be better than Inzaghi. 3 forwards is not enough, what if you get another long term injury? i could say thousands superlatives on Pato, but one of his cons is that he is a bit injury prone. At 28 years old, Cassano might have many years left of his career too, especially if he stays in Italy where he knows the league.

I know I said he would be a bad signing for us earlier this thread, but for free that might be another story - he is less of a gamble then. I doubt he is a candidate for us anyway, but for example for Liverpool he would be a colossal improvement. It is also interesting that Ronaldinho is linked to LA Galaxy, one has to wonder if that could send David Beckham back to AC Milan in some sort of swap deal.

:nono: The Galaxy already have the 3 allowed designated players(Donovan, Beckham, and Angel). I have no idea why they got Juan Pablo Angel, but they did so they can't pick up Ronaldinho.

The Galaxy are negotiating with Angel over a contract at this time and I am sure they are trying to get him to sign at a reduced price. At this time though Angel is not a member of the Galaxy

But you need to remember that Cassano will likely be on a few million per year if he moves there, so he won't necessarily be a cheap signing if they pull it through. You are right though in that he might prove to be a huge asset to a team like Milan and if Allegri manages to find a decent rotation system that works and keeps everyone happy, then it will be a good buy. It is not impossible that Milan will sell Pato at some point to get the money while they can, in that case Cassano, Robinho and Ibrahimovic up front could prove to be a great partnership. Ronaldinho, I think, is finished at this level which is a sad sight to witness because at one point, not so long ago, he was considered the best in the world, and he's only 30.

Milan will likely win the league this season, largely due to the fact that Benitez screwed Inter up big time, cause I still reckon the other Milan team has a superior squad. Nevertheless the rebuilding they have done in AC has worked so far.

There is one thing that I will never critizise and that is the salery of football players. Football clubs earn hundreds of millions a year gross revenue, and it is only fair that significant percentages of that go to the players. If he was in a club where the scenario was indispensable for Sampdoria we would talk about a £10m-20m player, so those millions becomes peanuts when sat into context... He will probably leave without a mentionable sign on fee as well, as he just want to get out of Sampdoria - all in all, he will turn out a cheap option when they doesn't have to pay him salary.

I am not criticizing players wages, in fact I have always maintained that they are mostly fair because they reflect how popular or good the player is in a sport that is followed by over a billion people around the globe. It's not any different than movies industry where actors earn even more than footballers. We are the ones who pay their wages, if someone has a problem with that then they should stop contributing. Obviously what City are doing is still wrong in my opinion because they inflate the wages with money that doesn't come from football world at all - I don't mind when they pay £30m for a player worth half the price because they only boost the amount of cash available to the selling side, but inflating the wages of footballer is wrong and should be reduced by a salary cap based on income.

This is the player that refused to go to the world cup this year because he didn't play in a friendly at the end of last year and you think he has changed attitude?

He did not refuse to go the WC. Lippi would simply not pick him. Italy were struggling and they would have most definitely benefited with him in their side. He is good player but not sure he'd fit in at United.

AC Milan's attack is getting better and better. Or is this move a replacement for Ronaldihno who is in talks with Gremio .

Football | Serie A | Cassano set for AC Milan move | ESPNSTAR.com

Antonio Cassano's move to AC Milan will only be made official once the Serie A transfer opens on January 2.

Reports in Italy claim the Sampdoria striker will, however, be allowed to join his new club at a training camp in Dubai later this month.

Samp and AC Milan reportedly reached an agreement for the transfer of the Italy international to the San Siro yesterday.

Cassano is set to sign a contract until June 2014 with the Rossoneri outfit.

The 28-year-old has not featured for Samp since being dropped from the squad back in October following a heated argument with club president Riccardo Garrone.

Samp attempted to rescind the player's contract but were unsuccessful.

However, Cassano was punished last week by an arbitration panel with his wages reduced by 50% for the duration of his contract with Samp, which expires in June 2013.

The imminent arrival of Cassano to the San Siro has increased speculation that Ronaldinho could be on his way out of Milan.

The Brazilian has yet to sign a contract extension with the Rossoneri outfit, with his current deal ending in June.

Milan resume their Serie A campaign at Cagliari on January 6.
