was sublime for Italy yesterday and continues to provide fantastic performances for a resurgent Sampdoria. Has shown a drastic change in attitude since his days in Roma and Real Madrid and is still only 28.

Any team would benefit greatly with him. He would be a perfect partner with Rooney IMHO.

This is the player that refused to go to the world cup this year because he didn't play in a friendly at the end of last year and you think he has changed attitude?

He didn't "refuse", as Lippi simply didn't call him up.

"My wedding is planned for June 19 and there is no way I would postpone my wedding. Not even a call-up for Italy's national side can change that," Cassano was quoted as saying by Reuters.

EDIT: From the same interview
"In football, only those who are puppets and say yes to everything move forward. I am a prima donna, and diplomacy has no place in my house," he said.

Changed attitude? Sure doesn't look that way.

Lippi never gave him a chance even with his form, his attitude etc. Lippi made so many errors in his 2nd spell.

Cassano is a genius, he's flawed but he seems to have settled down, has a wife and his attitude is dramatically better than it was in the past. He also plays with passion and if he dedicates himself can be Italys main man for the next 4 years.

:lol::lol::lol:

You mean the one who has never done well against any English sides?

You mean the one who got beat up by a corner flag?

The one who had a melt down on the pitch?

The one who threw his shirt at the ref?

Give me a break you guys ffs

He's a tool but he's great to watch for his drama or his football.

Doubt he'd enjoy English football much though.

He might be a cnut, but surely you can't deny his quality?

I think he's good on his day but consistently overated
I disagree strongly, I think he's underrated by most. He's a fantastic player. An insane genius, as the Chief said. Would've been interesting to see him for United, but it would've been a risk of course.

I'm not saying we should buy him, by the way, but it would've been interesting.

Only 28? That means he would be 29 next summer when avalible as I doubt he would be a alternative in January. Personally I don't even think he is the best man to get from Sampdoria, Pazzini would be a better addition to our squad, and he would be "only" 27 next summer.. I don't know whom to get, personally I doubt we need a forward, midfielders should be a bigger priority.

antonio cassano reportedly (sky italia) agreed a 3 1/2-year deal with ac milan. shows there's little room for solidarity in football

AC Milan are developing a talented but an extremely unpredictable attack. Zlatan, Robinho, Ronaldinho and now Cassano. Would be fun to watch them play though.

Pato too

Apparently they want Balotelli too. Jeez Cassano,Balotelli and Zlatan, talk about giving the young Milan coach a headache....

Berlusconi always insisted on Milan coaches playing with two strikers. Maybe it's the way to make it happen - leaving them with a team of strikers.

So...money's tight but yet they keep on adding on to their strongest side in their team.

He's excellent playing just in that left-hand side slightly withdrawn role, a definite upgrade on Ronaldinho for me, but it seems like a strange move given that Robinho's started his career quite well and he occupies the two positions Cassano's best in. And neither seem like they're happy to sit on the bench.

He's on a free transfer isn't he?

Why? His contract runs out 2013. And they want him to replace Inzaghi's role because Pippo is injured. Yes, I'm sure Cassano will love taking part in every third game. That'll certainly help the dressing room atmosphere...

The arbitration panel ruled in his favour, hence Sampdoria can't rip up his contract and thus any transfer would involve a fee.

P.S I'm hearing Real Madrid would get a fair chunk as well if he moved.

It's a crazy signing really. He's important to Italy too and if he doesnt get the game time he wont be able to get into the national team. He is however one of the most intuitive players around, he forges understanding and relationships on the pitch with such ease, for this reason he can make himself a key player in any side if he applies himself (in my opinion at least). A shame he can't do the same off the pitch.

'Dinho will be off to LA

:nono: The Galaxy already have the 3 allowed designated players(Donovan, Beckham, and Angel). I have no idea why they got Juan Pablo Angel, but they did so they can't pick up Ronaldinho.

Cassano to Milan would be a pointless move when they already have Pato, Ibrahimovic and Robinho in the attack, it's calling for trouble because there is a limit to how many cnuts you can have in your team. Ibra, Robinho and him together would be pushing it too far.

They should create a team in Miami for Ronaldinho and call it the Miami Jar Jar Binkses
