The attack as a whole almost always functions better with him there because of his all-round game. It creates space and opportunities for the others. Ultimately he needs to be doing that AND scoring goals which he hasn't done the last few games, but not scoring goals doesn't automatically make him rubbish. No idea what game people were watching but he was rubbish again, so what if he holds the ball up and does a few lay offs, he is in the team to score goals and he’s not doing that. He’s getting chances and wasting them.
just about anyone would be an upgrade this window.
He's in the team to help the team be more cohesive in attack, and increase our general quality of play, create more chances as a team, etc.No idea what game people were watching but he was rubbish again, so what if he holds the ball up and does a few lay offs, he is in the team to score goals and he’s not doing that. Guy has landed on his feet coming back from that failed loan at Sevilla, to only having a stroppy manchild as his only competition for the striker position.
We need to sell him once an for all this summer, no matter if we only bring in one striker this summer.

I don't know why his shooting never has any real fizz to it. Earlier he was a specialist at those one on one chances but you'd think over time he'd develop his ball striking from various ranges and sadly it hasn't happenedWas pretty decent but needs to start banging them in again.
His all round game is good but his finishing has declined since his younger years. I used to have full confidence in him scoring or coming very close from every good chance which is no longer the case.
Yes I think he's more than good enough for us. He makes us better in fact. Good enough to start for our ambitions is a big question mark but we are a WIP tooCan he stay in the team after this season for his all round game but pretty poor finishing

It's also worth noting that he's had five goals and two assists in just over seven games worth of minutes this season.
I don't know about proper but we definitely a high quality strikerDefinitely need a proper 9 in the summer
Would you take our Angolan legend Manucho over him ? Seriously though agree with you except maybe chicha whose finishing was tiers above Martial but I dont think his overall play was better than him. Berba is a 50/50 for me because of the style of football we are playing now. ETH would gone berserk seeing him strolling in the pitchThe conclusion I came up with last night is that Martial has had his chance and never takes it. I’ve watched him and been a fan of his since day one. I thought this kid has got something.
He’s not that kid now. He’s near his peak and he might on the odd occasion look special but it is in that odd occasion. I guess it shows where our standards are at.
Over the years we’ve had Cole, Yorke, Sheringham, solkskjaer, Van Nistelrooy, Hughes, Rooney, Tevez, Berbatov, McClair, Cantona, Ibrahimovic, Hernandez, Berbatov and Ronaldo up top. Hands down right now I’d take any of them in their peak over Martial.
We are after a striker because Martial is the only one we've got. Ultimately we probably need two (yes, one a replacement) because Martial can't stay fit. He has also been historically inconsistent. But when on form he's very good.Sorry, but this is the problem. Martial was rubbish. And some fans actually think he improves how we play. How on Earth you can draw that conclusion on either his current or historical form is beyond me.
He is a mid-table team No 9, at best. He doesn't work hard, isn't clinical. Isn't prolific. Isn't consistent. Isn't reliable. Isn't inspiring.
Ans his hold up play is nothing special.
This is an average footballer, and there is a reason why ETH is seeking a replacement.
Martial will score a few goals, one or two will look great. And that's it. Because that's who he is.
Manchester United should do better at No 9 and there seems to be a consensus on that within the coaching staff.
I would like Sancho back, so he can rotate with Rashford through the middle, because either of those are better than Martial.
Move Martial on and bring in two strikers. I thought he played well yesterday as he has this season but he is not reliable and has always been inconsistent.
If we sign a decent striker he’ll down tools anywayWould lose his place to a decent striker right away. I guess he will he sold in summer. Finally
With or withoutIf we sign a decent striker he’ll down tools anyway
Perhaps he's not liked because for many of the years he's been a United player, he's been a sulking knob head who hasn't bothered to put in any effort. Just a thoughtHe played pretty well but has to be putting away some of those half chances. As usual he gets judged by different metrics though compared to most players. He’s not liked by a good portion of Utd fans.

If you've watched us over the last few years and not noticed how our entire attack (and largely our entire team) simply plays better when Martial is fit and in form, I'm not sure what you've been watching. Now, I'm certainly not saying that's only due to Martial being amazing or anything. It's partly due to him being good at knitting the play and creating chances and openings for others, but it's also partly due to the utter incompetence of any of our other strikers to do it. That includes Rashford who is terrible at striker (albeit he has shown signs of some improvement lately).
