Looked great in preseason and when we really need him he goes missing.
Not saying it is his fault but it’s highly irritating.

So frustrating.
He gives us another dimension cause non of our attackers can hold the ball anywhere near the opposition box.

Hard to say how much his constant injuries are just down to his own laziness in the last 2 years, where the body has atrophied like the commitment levels. Or if Ole and his abysmal fitness coaching is equally to blame.

When is this guy actually available? To make matters worse we're playing Rashford up there after an entire transfer window.

We desperately need him to get fit, and stay fit, watching Rashford struggle to hold and keep the ball, give it away and Generally kill attacks was painful, as much he should be better, it's not his Game, Martial is lightyears ahead of him as a 9.

Our attacking play will benefit hugely from having a player who can link the play, as well as being a goal threat himself.

We need him to hold the ball up desperately. Last few games the ball just keeps coming back with Rashford.

We’d have won by 4 if he was fit last night. The one thing he’s exceptional at even when out of scoring form is linking the play. He can’t stay fit though and the fact he’s arguably the most important player in the squad after a 200m spend is baffling.

Not fit for Sunday and ETH says he doesn’t know when he’ll be back.

I don't get these game to game updates, if it's a remotely serious achilles injury, he is out for weeks.

ETH said he was out for a week 2 days ago so I’m assuming it wasn’t thought as serious. He also did it against Liverpool yet was shown in training after that game. Maybe it’s pain or something rather than actually a muscle tear hence why he doesn’t know when he’s back.

The achilles is a tendon, so a tear is possible though a week would mean that it's a minor injury. From personal experience achilles injuries take way too long to heal, the worst one was when I volleyed a ball and caught the ball and the defender. A few hours after the game, I couldn't walk and had pains for more than a year.

Wish him good luck in the future but we can't hold an attacker who can't stay fit for 2 seconds that he's on 250K per week

When he’s physically fit, he’s mentally weak, and when he’s mentally switched on, he’s physically unfit. It’s a miserable vicious cycle these days with Martial.

And we’re relying on him as our number. 9 this season.

Ronaldo up top I hope. Rashford in the CF role is not remotely good enough.

Posters who uses these injury updates as opportunities to pile on the guy are bizarre. It's been known now that he won't be available for at least a week or two yet posters keep coming back, acting all surprised and pushing the discourse as if he's picking new injuries with every new updates.

The sooner some people understand that his Achille won't magically heal in just a few days, the less of these conniption fits we'll be reading in this thread as it pertains to this particular injury.

Any word when he’s back?

The attack doesn’t look anywhere near as bad when you see Rashford slowly finding his form again.

Sancho
Rashford
Antony
Ronaldo
Martial

Not a bad bunch supported by Elanga and Garnacho.

I think the return of Martial will help us again somewhat.

It will help Sancho and rashford too as he's better at linkup play and interchange than rashford up top.

When Martial comes in, he'll add a new dimension to the team as he can offer us great in game tactical flexibility without having to change personnel. Yesterday the game changed when Ronaldo came on because Arsenal thought they didn't have to worry about the ball over the top with him, so they played an even higher line to squeeze us out of possession quicker.

With Rashford on the other hand, they don't worry about ball into feet as his hold up isn't very good.

This is where Martial comes in. He can be a technical target man, that can link play as well beat the high line. Although he isn't top level at any of these things, he offers just enough to help the team gel. Let's just hope he stays injury free moving forward.

If he can't stay fit this season. club should show him the door, we don't want amother phil jones

An achilles injury is a long term thing. Guess it depends on the severity but this one could go on for a while.

Expecting him to be out for a couple of months at least, given the nature of the injury.

A CF has to be our number one priority next summer
