Pellistri did more in 14 minutes than Elanga did all game so not really. All I keep thinking is how bad are Pellistri & Amad if this kid keeps getting minutes over them?

he seems like a hard working grounded local lad.
The issue with the likes of Elanga getting games for us is that you look around at the likes of Neto at Wolves, or Bowen at West Ham, or Barnes at Leicester - there’s so many more - and see forwards across the division that would be a significant upgrade on what he offers. Yet we wouldn’t sign those players. We’d question how good they really are. All the while we start academy graduates like Elanga who are just so far away from the desired standard. We need more players.
He’s been with the club since he was 12 years old, that’s local enough for me. Couldn’t really care less what nationality is stamped on his passport. He's a Swedish international

What abuse? They'd also all cost a minimum of £50m, probably more.
Elanga is decent but obviously not an elite prospect. He's also not a RW, where he's ended up having to play a lot. He's also ended up playing a lot more than he should have at this point due to a mixture of the poor form of other players, injuries, and general lack of options.
I'm actually quite disgusted at how our own 'fans' have turned on him so much and the abuse they've started to give him online.

Barnes is 24 and didn't look any better than Elanga, let's give him at least a full season with the 1st team before writing him off entirely.
Why scape goat? He's not a very good footballer, should never start games for us, and people point that outHe's going to be the scape goat this season unless we buy another winger and bump his mins down.
He was no better or worse than Dan James. He earned plaudits because he played with heart unlike the rest.Mmmmmm..people forgetting what he offered last season and that was genuine pace on the flanks and that will probably be the same this season.
All correctHe was no better or worse than Dan James. He earned plaudits because he played with heart unlike the rest.
His actual quality is minimal and far away from a Manchester United player. This will only be exposed the more he plays.

Its not his fault he has the role he does currently, he won't miraculously become better so people should cut him some slack especially as he gives his best. Why scape goat? He's not a very good footballer, should never start games for us, and people point that out
In a way yes, as he's the one who needs to perform if given the chanceIts not his fault he has the role he does currently, he won't miraculously become better so people should cut him some slack especially as he gives his best.
When I think of his very best performance, its nothing exciting from an attacking point of view at this level. He can't give what he doesn't have so I can't fault him. There's levels to this thing. In a way yes, as he's the one who needs to perform if given the chance
At least he's trying (compared to others) being the main plaudit isn't saying much about his ability... The style of play also suited him, looking to play on the counter and runs in behind - won't be the tactics under Ten Hag.Mmmmmm..people forgetting what he offered last season and that was genuine pace on the flanks and that will probably be the same this season.
Yes and no. Elanga has obviously struggled during the preseason and towards the end of last season, but in the first couple of months when he broke into the team he did show a level of skill and dribbling ability that James didn't have. If he can get back to that level he's fine as a squad player for now.Daniel James was even better
I disagree he showed good dribbling ability. Most of his contribution came from winning the ball and making the right runs.Yes and no. Elanga was never particularly good. The perception that he was ever good enough was nothing more than a feel good moment brought on by a youth player entering a terrible and toxic team. In the cold light of day he's just another mediocre academy player destined to go the same way as Welbeck and Cleverley. The only reason he could be considered a decent squad player is because we have a poor squad and we're favourites to finish 6thYes and no. It was inconsistent, but he definitely did have some matches where he showed a decent level of dribbling ability. I can't remember the exact matches but I do remember a few where he caused the opposition a lot of trouble with skill and dribbling. Not that it's a high standard since the comparison was with Dan James.I disagree he showed good dribbling ability. Most of his contribution came from winning the ball and making the right runs.
I have yet to see him repeat the dribbling ability he displayed for the youth teams.
He seems to lack technical ability. I wouldnt be opposed to giving his minutes to Garnacho or Amad.
Anywho, I think if he starts it'll make or break for his Utd career. EtH doesn't feck around.
Sancho?Well he is a perfect squad player.. The problem we have is we don't have. a rw so he is playing all the time..

Yeah I agree. I think Garnacho, Amad and Pellistri have much higher ceilings and I don't think there's much between them 3 and Elanga at the minute so bit surprised to see he's the one getting the chances. It's honestly ridiculous for me he's the one youngster who's getting the most chances out of them all. Nothing against the boy, but he has zero talent and he offers nothing to warrant all these chances.
He'll end up at a relegation fodder team in the next few years.
