Anelka leaving I can understand but surely Chelsea should keep Alex as he is a better defender than Luiz?
Imo Alex is better than Luiz.
Huge spending spree in Jan then
They could do with a couple of defenders.
Word for word what I came in to type.
If I was Wenger I'd be straight on the phone. Alex is a very underrated player.
My guess is that Alex wanna play more and AVB cannot guarantee it as he wants to develop Luiz. It's just pure conjecture
Yup. The problem is pace though. With the high line they play under AVB a combo of Alex and Terry would get murdered.
'Arry won't contain himself. He'll bid for both.
No word on where Alex might go then?
King certainly is ... though obviously the problem here is his availability to play on a regular basis. One club who really could do with´him....Spurs!
For all their quality these days - there central defenders aren't world-class

He certainly is .... King has long been one of THE very best CBs in football.Kings a good player but he's not world class FFS

King when fit is undoubtably world class.
There's no doubt about that.
Augh come on now. World Class is a fairly loose term but it surely should only apply to the top 4-5 defenders in the world. Ledley King is not one of those players.
When fit he is, with ease.
I wouldn't swap a fit King for any CB in the Prem. He's not even in the top 2 english centre halfs

And I wouldn't swap a Charizard for a Blastoise. But those things aren't real so it doesn't matter.
Yes he is.
Why have Ferdinand and Terry kept him out of the England side all his career then?

You think Terry is ahead of him on merit rather than Ledleys knee issues?
Bless.
Taking a wild guess, I'd reckon his long-standing knee problems have something to do with it.Why have Ferdinand and Terry kept him out of the England side all his career then?

He has it all: positioning, pace, ball control, arial ability, power, calmness, timing ....
Thierry Henry said he's the best CB he's ever played against.
