Anelka And Alex Transfer Request Accepted

Anelka leaving I can understand but surely Chelsea should keep Alex as he is a better defender than Luiz?

To be honest being better than Luiz is hardly a ringing endorsement for a defender and I'm sure they're gonna sign Cahill in the January window, that'll probably mean Alex's playing chances will lessen even more.

Alex to Arsenal? 29 and would cost money. Perhaps not.

Huge spending spree in Jan then
They could do with a couple of defenders.

Anelka will go to PSG I expect.

If AVB is still in charge then I think you're right.

I expect RA will back him to the hilt and he'll bring in at least 3 players.

Word for word what I came in to type.

If I was Wenger I'd be straight on the phone. Alex is a very underrated player.

Yup. The problem is pace though. With the high line they play under AVB a combo of Alex and Terry would get murdered.

My guess is that Alex wanna play more and AVB cannot guarantee it as he wants to develop Luiz. It's just pure conjecture

AVB's got a hell of a task ahead of him. He seems to be trying to address the fact that he's got an ageing team (persevering with Torres over Drogba, Luiz over Alex, using Sturridge more), but its a serious gamble given how trigger-happy Abramovich is when it comes to firing managers.

No word on where Alex might go then?

One club who really could do with´him....Spurs!

For all their quality these days - there central defenders aren't world-class

Alex was linked with the move to Serie A in the summer, Juve were sounding out Chelsea about it. For whatever reason, it didn't work out at the time.

Erm could it really get any worse?

The reason Chelsea's high-line is failing is because Luiz keeps getting caught out with his rashness at stepping up.

He is honestly the worst centre half I've ever seen - at a top club - at playing a tactical game like that.

Daft as a brush,

'Arry won't contain himself. He'll bid for both.

I think he wants Drogba more. Alex will be a very good buy for them because he still has a few good years in him and he can be very handy during set pieces. He has a killer of a right foot for a defender and can score goals during corners as well.

King certainly is ... though obviously the problem here is his availability to play on a regular basis.

He's not even in the top 2 english centre halfs
I wouldn't swap a fit King for any CB in the Prem.

He has it all: positioning, pace, ball control, arial ability, power, calmness, timing ....

Thierry Henry said he's the best CB he's ever played against.

Why have Ferdinand and Terry kept him out of the England side all his career then?
Taking a wild guess, I'd reckon his long-standing knee problems have something to do with it.

There's no doubt that minus the knee issues King would have kept Terry out of the England side.

That said, John Terry is criminally under rated on this forum.

The way you overrate your players you'd think Spurs where winning the league every year. Don't know whats more laughable King being fit or you saying you wouldn't swap him for Rio who is far superior. King is an excellent player no doubt but he's not world class you almost certainly have to play for a top club in the champions league etc and definatley have to keep fit for more than two games running something King can't seem to do.
