Andreas Pereira / loan to Lazio

Its amazing how little our fans rate our players and hate on them. Sure hes not good enough for United, but his previous time out on loan playing regularly he could have easily fetched 25m. The guys still only 24, ffs...

27m, if by some miracle we should get it, would be daylight robbery. Still have my reservations about whether this goes through, mind you.

Time to move on for him, the 27M buy option is unrealistic. There's no way Lazio is paying that much for him, we should had agreed a permanent deal or at least a realistic buy option something like 10-15M.

He's not getting minutes here, not good enough at any position. CM, CAM, CDM, RW simply not top level.

Why, because his value is only based off him sitting on United bench and getting a few minutes here and there. His two years on loan doesn't count?
If he plays regularly on loan, there will be a lot more teams interested.

Too much fuss being made out of the figure. First of all, it's the max amount, and depending on how his loan goes, the club is free to try and negotiate for a lower fee. Second, just because he's not good enough here doesn't mean he isn't worth that much, I"ve seen lesser players go for far more than that.

Him being not good enough here doesnt mean that he's not worth that much? Well when you see a player like Thiago go for 30M and ask 27M for Pereira that really puts things into perspective.

I agree we'll be able to negotiate a lower fee, but why not put in a realistic fee so if he does well they automatically take him?

Come on, man. It’s not about ‘playing regularly’, as we’ve seen what he offers when he does so. He made 25 league appearances for us last season, scoring 1 goal and providing 3 assists. For the record, 18 of those appearances were starts, so I don’t think you can say he’s been living on a few minutes ‘here and there’. Furthermore, his league stats for Valencia are eerily similar, offering 1 goal and 3 assists in 23 matches. The only season you could find solace in was at Granada, in which he scored 5 and created 3 in 35. Not too bad given he was around 20 years old at the time and playing in a lesser side in La Liga. I’m not someone who is married to stats; however, when you considered those overall, they are poor, no matter how you dress them up. Not to mention his overall play is weak and he has never shown himself capable of really asserting himself on a match. Matches just pass him by. It’s not like he’s an unknown commodity that teams might fancy a punt on. It’s fairly well established what he offers, at this stage.

It would take a freak season for Lazio, unlike anything we’ve seen from him before, to lure in bids greater than the rumoured 27m. Personally, I’d be ecstatic if we secured that fee for him; however, I don’t for one second think we’ll be able to do so. For the record, I understand what you’re saying and I’m all for trying to raise funds via clever player sales. If he kills it at Lazio and we get a big fee for him, I’ll hold my hands up and congratulate you for your foresight. I just can’t see it happening, myself. Not to mention we’re notoriously poor at selling players. For the purpose of discussion, if we sold him for 27m he’d be one of our most expensive departures of all time, behind Ronaldo, Lukaku and Di Maria.

Anyway, I’m rambling now. Hope you turn out to be correct and we can get a nice figure for him.

Because if he actually does well then our hands would be tied

Is that tweet even reliable? The fact that it tells you it’s an option to buy for 27M is obviously bollocks and everyone goes on to lose their marbles? Romano had previously said it’s 10M obligation to buy which is to me more believable

€27m?! Did we draft in Marina the Chelsea milf to help with that one?

Not if that’s an option. No one is paying that. He would have to have an incredible season. Seems like a wasted opportunity. Not surprised they don’t want to pay anything this season given the circumstances, but noone will be buying him for €27 next year.

Because we had a valuation for him and he still gets interest? 2 seasons ago Valencia wanted to keep him after they loaned him, they pulled out because we wanted too much money. Lazio are seemingly willing to pay it if he settles in Italy

Thiago asked to leave after winning his club the champions league and is older.

Do you think he'll do that well? He's 24, if he was going to be any good he would have showed it by now. Anyway Im just gladd to see him leave.

Unless they're paying 100% of his wages I don't see the positive in this for us because they sure as hell aren't going to want to keep him after they see him in person

Find it weird people come all this way to slate a player who's not done anything wrong and is on his way out the door.

Shouldn't we just be happy it's happening?

He tried his best and wasn't cut out for the level we aspire to.

Hopefully he does well over there and lands us a decent sale.

Utd need to make sure it is not an option to buy but mandatory to buy. Otherwise we end up with another Smalling, Rojo situation. Need to cut these guys loose

Looks like a win-win-win situation to me.

Even if loan is not with mandatory offer, increased playing time will attract new clubs for Pereira.

Yep. If we get loan fee, let say 10m, and they page his wages. In 3 years of his remaining contract, we get 30m, with free of wages.
I think that's how Chelsea make money with their loan program also.

If he is worth anywhere near 27m then 110m for Sancho is a joke.

Even though i dont believe any team (maybe some chinese club that know nothing about football and have never seen him play, could pay that amount if they just read "brazilian", "manchester united", "23 years old" and someone send them a youtube club of ALL his highlights (30 seconds max) would pay that much for him.

We should me happy if we can get someone to pay his wages for 1 year to start with or sell him for 8-10m.

Personally I really rate him and think he has a lot of natural ability. He just needs to be in a team that wants to develop him and he needs to be playing week in week out. I would send him out on loan to a lower half PL team to maximise his potential at this level and generate extra market value.

Good news. Hes not up to our level but he deserves to be playing regularly. 27m is obviously a price Lazio are happy with, by next summer Covid should be largely over and they will have normal revenues again.

What if he is absolute dog and his value deteriorates even further? Or gets a bad injury... they get a lot of ACLs down in Roma.

It's an option to buy guys, not an obligation. Say he has a decent to good season, 27m for an already settled 24 years old attacking player with plenty of experience and no major injury problems is not that unreasonable. People seriously underestimate our players on this forum. Even without a loan I wouldn't be shocked if someone puts a 20m offer on the table. Solanke went for 20m ffs.

Solanke did not go for 40m . It was 20m

Lots of talent and had moments. But couldn't put it together consistently. Effort wasn't missing though.

Good luck to him.

No way we get 10m loan fee for him.

May be 27m figure is purposefully inflated as both clubs want to balance their books, like Juve Barca, may be United is interested in SMS to replace Pogba next year, and both clubs will do a swap deal of both players with inflated figures.

Lazio also interested in Mata.

I would even bother negotiating for them, just sell them asap before Lazio changes their mind.

English player from and to english clubs.

How many sales over 20m have we made this last decade?

Mata has needed to go for ages. Was never really the right fit, lovely chap that he is.

But what he's provided for a fair while could be covered by a youth teamer.

I always think our players are overated. It shows when we try to sell them, no one wants to pay serious money for them.

I was very surprised at what Everton paid us for Shneiderlin. Infact that was one of Jose Mourinho's best achievement at United.

I wonder how much we could get for Lindelof today.

As for Pereira, I think he always makes the wrong decisions. Between him and his agent they need a reality check.

He shouldn't be targeting teams like Lazio, Valencia etc. In my opinion he is not a top player, he flatters to deceive.

What Pereira needs is to chose a club of his level. He should be targeting a club in the bottom half of the league, lets say a Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Brighton etc.

He has more chance of establishing himself as a player at these clubs than some of the fancy moves he dreams about. At the moment Pereira is known as a loan player and at his age that's not a good thing. He overates himself.

Manchester United should be looking at 10 million max from his sale and move on. 27 million is wishful thinking.

Or it’s a price they couldn’t care less about and are just happy to have him on loan for the season, with no realistic interest in buying him.

Wouldn’t trust Lazio with a barge poll after the Jaap Stam transfer.

Agreed. Its not just Pereira, the club has made some terrible business the last couple of years, but stick to their valuation which is completely off the mark. When you also consider we tend to overpay for any buys its no wonder we end up with such a mess

Its also stupid as feck, because its not like players are going to increase in value as they age. They are footballers, not collectibles

If this is true and we are able to get them off the wage bill we need to do everything to make it happen.

Actually I think they would do prety well, Mata is still a good footballer and also Pereira could do a job for a Serie A team.

We need to stop these deadwood coming back. Look at Smalling and Rojo this summer, not even training with the first team. You want him, take him and keep him

So we could end up paying some of his wages and they could just give him back after 1 season. No way we get £27m unless he plays exceptional.
