Beautiful goal. Plays much better further forwards.

Thought the 2nd half he was much livelier also.

First half he showed he can put in a good cross, which Lukaku could only glance but it was still probably our 2nd best chance.

2nd half he moved into the hole and instantly did much better, outstanding goal with his first shot and showed his determination to win the ball and set up Lukaku for a shot that he did well to convert.

Comes 2nd in motm for me, Lukaku has to win that scoring those 2 goals and Dalot in 3rd

I remember when the news came out that Mourinho liked the idea of using him as a DM came out in pre-season. I said I dont get it because the 1 thing Andreas has more than most other players is the ability to score a world class shot. You want him in areas where he can shoot. Even today and even though he got an assist, we saw that his passing wasnt always very good. But one shot and bam what a goal.

He needs to be playing where he can get forward a bit and shoot.

Goal gave him confidence and his performance was much better afterwards.

A fecking waste on possession but scored a worldie goal. He looks so slow, but he's a fighter also.

Great goal good assist, but was anonymous for the vast majority of the game. Lets see if he kicks on from here.

Pretty much this  As a midfielder he is really bad at what he is supposed to be good at, passing and keeping the ball but scored a good goal.

Don't think he can play in a midfield 2, definitely more effective further forward. Just don't think he fits long term but well taken goal today.

He can't play on the right of the 4-3-3. It makes him look weak. After the switch to number 10 he came to life with goal and assist. And very good finish . Like phil coutinho.

He reminds me of Darren Gibson. I did like Gibson though.

People were giving him stick. But his goal and assist were something someone like McTominay could never produce. He’s someone worth persisting with.

Poor first half, cracking goal and assist in the second but even then he was sloppy in possession too often.

Looked far better taken out of the midfield battle and pushed forward into a more attacking position. Gets bullied a little in deeper areas, loses the ball too often and can look a little brittle in his confidence.

Chuffed for him. Been looking forward to a goal like that at OT since he was about 16 (in a big league game anyway) He’s not been great since he broke into the squad, but there really are few things better as a United fan than watching an academy graduate you’ve watched rise through the ranks do something like that... hopefully he kicks on now with a bit more confidence. But if not, glad he had that moment...

Struggled in the nitty gritty stuff unlike last week when he was excellent. But a well taken goal which set the tone for the win.

He sure has that extra quality. He is still struggling with the basics though. I think he needs more time and more games.

Tremendous goal that one, delighted for the kid. I'm convinced that there's a player there.

Not sold on him, although it was a terrific goal.

he seems to be a confidence player. After he scored the confidence was high and he did some good things. Then when Ward Prowse scored the confidence dropped and he made mistakes. I think the pressure gets to him.

Very good cross in the first half. Maybe play him in the ten.

I think though with Herrera and Matic playing today, we win comfortably.

He's a 10. That second half sealed it for me. He's much better when allowed to play behind the strikers and roam, and he's shown that he can strike a ball exceptionally well.

Was pretty terrible the first half so I'm happy for him to turn it around like that.

Not for me, at least not for a top club because as he also showed today his eye for a cutting pass and ability to deliver it arent of the same quality as his longshot.

For someone in the 10 role at a top club to make it long term, needs to be able to play a final pass consistently to set up others. Obviously he found a pretty basic pass after good determination today and Lukaku turned it into a goal. But I'll be surprised if I see him setting up too much more himself.

On the other hand as we've seen from Ander and Pogba, you can get plenty of shots from the edge of the box or even inside it playing from our CM roles. He just needs to get himself into those positions and bet on himself.

Fair play for the goal and assist but to be honest apart of that 10 minutes period , He wasn't good.

Brilliant goal. He's badly letting himself down performance-wise, though. I think he's a lot better than this.

Indeed, he deserved better than a free kick against Ipswich.

Lovely goal.

But I still don't find him very impressive. His game is extremely patchy with a lot of poor decisions in general.

The change in position helped him a lot. Got him in range to score the goal and the assist, and also seemed to improve his play a bit. The problem is pushing him forward meant Pogba had to be withdrawn.

Unless we switch to a 4-2-3-1 and push one of them wide, or get a Carrick or Busquets type 1-man midfielder at the base of a 4-3-3, I don't see him and Pogba comfortalby operating in the same team.

Yup. Is he a very individualistic player? Doesn't seem to link up well. Produces the odd moment of very impressive skill but his all round game seems rather confined.

Brilliant goal, assist and one superb cross that Lukaku headed wide.

Dispossessed 5 times and his passing was a bit patchy at times.

Really poor in the first half but came alive when he was moved further forward, played a huge role in the win. Still think he would make a decent squad player, but it doesn't look like he will stay.

Looked better in the more advanced position but it should be noted that that change cost us Pogba, who was much worse after having to go deeper to accommodate it. He noticeably revived when Fred replaced Pereira and he was back in the advanced role.
