I don't believe anyone in here genuinely watches Granada regular. Watching a couple of his highlights comps means nothing.

Either way its irrelevant, different league, different type of team, just a completely different set up, theres a bit of a leap from them to us.

Ive seen him live, whats not irrelevant is his technical ability and his skill levels and the fact he is a rapidly improving young player who has been in all the right setups and systems as he developed. He is simply put one of the more talented young players coming through anywhere in the world. He will fit right in at Utd and wont struggle at all to be a valued squad member, over time he has the potential to become a first team regular.

There is a debate in another thread about the best players 21 and under in the world, ( martial is in the title but can't remember exactly what it is) suffice to say pereira isn't mentioned.

Fair play to you! I tried to sit through one but Granada are a very poor team. The reason I would rather sell and throw a buy back on him is because I don't think a player can fully develop through loans, I might be wrong but it just isn't the ideal environment in my mind. I certainly hope to see him in the first team in the next couple of years.
Depends who we loan to. This loan has been perfect for Pereira. It's given him a full season to play against stop sides on a regular basis and it's also developed a work ethos in him. He works as hard as any player for Granada and he'll be a much better player upon his return.

If he wasnt a United player the vultures would be circling him right now.

We've had quite a lot of players who've broken through through loan deals, but it really has to be the right club, right manager and the right role, that I agree with. Yeah there's been a fair few borefests but especially since the turn of the year it's been entertaining to watch Pereira (he had a good first half of the season, too though) and even the team produces some good performances every now and then. What's helped is that they've played a few matches on either Friday nights or at 11:00 GMT on Saturdays. Being awake and having nothing else to do ;)

There are too many teams I want to catch at the minute to take on Granada. People are raving about Monaco and Napoli, I haven't caught any Monaco this season and watched Napoli for the first time against Madrid.

That sounds very promising. Am I right in thinking he has moved inside from the left to a more box to box centre mid?

I think there were times like Pogba that he deserved his chance to play in the first team. Sadly like Pogba in football is all about luck and timing. Pogba went to a high profile club and went on to not only start for them but became their best player. For me if he was playing in a higher profile team and keeping better players out of his position, that would be a better indicator.

He's clearly benefited from the loan deal but the only potential we should be buying is that which has proven it at the highest level. We don't need anymore Memphis or Zara's. Great looking players in lesser teams. Sadly, don't think he has yet....

This has turned out to be such a good loan

He has the talent and attitude to make it here. Kid doesn't hide.

Starts tonight for Granada tonight at home to Barcelona, which gets underway in about 45 minutes. Should be interesting to see how he fairs against elite opposition.

I expect him to nutmeg Busquets, twice in the same passage of play no less, and then go on to score a hat-trick. Nothing less will do

You can tell why Granada are where they are. Their defense is atrocious.

He was ok, nothing outstanding but played the 90 minutes. Valuable experience for him against top class opposition

He has got so much ability on the ball, hope he is our 1st sub in midfield next season. Bar Pogba in midfield we need another player with excellent dribbling, passing and creativity. Herrera is alright. Pereira is a huge talent, hope he can mirror his game to Thiago, naturally gifted young midfielder who could play at 10 but also CM, huge amount of skill, technique, vision, gift, passing, dribbling, great shot, two footed, but also much intensity and work rate in the game, defensive nouse. They are almost identical to when Thiago was his age, Thiago probably even more naturally gifted. Hope Andreas can make similar steps here.

Wether he ends up good enough or not, I just hope this lad gets some chances next season.
This is what TFM and Rashford need in my opinion. A loan with regular appearances through a full season.

Mensah not featuring and Rashford playing occasionally and always out of position just isn't helping his development

Rashford just played his 40th match of the season. Out of the inside forwards/wingers, only Mata has played (slightly) more than Rashford, who has approx.

+400min compared to Martial
+500min compared to Mkhitaryan
+800min compared to Lingard

Now regarding time as a striker, that has been limited, but he's played a lot.

True on playing time. I was more pointing out that he needs to play as a striker. I just see him growing up as one of the players that gets put out of position for the sake of it and never really developing into the player he should.

He reminds me of a Modric/Thiago hybrid. Obviously not as good as either, before people spam me with green emojis.

This is his 1st full season playing first team football. I wish people had more patience and stopped using word like "never" when discussing Rashford's future as a striker. I think this season has done a world of good for him, in terms of becoming a more rounded attacking player.

Him starting big matches and having a lot (too much in some cases) of responsibility of our attacking play can only be a good thing. Compare that to him coming on to play striker for last 10-20 minutes of, say every other game and/or starting the odd cup game, I'm pretty sure this season has taught a lot to Rashford himself.

Even though he hasn't had that many games as a centre forward, his PL goal tally of 3 (and none since September) tells me that, contrary to what some posters seem to think, we wouldn't be any better off had he played more as a CF in the place of Zlatan. He's had, and missed a lot of chances, regardless of his starting position in the lineup.

I do wish he gets more minutes leading the line next season, but it'll take a couple of seasons at least for him to become the leading striker at United. If that happens in the first place.

Edit: Shite, sorry for derailing the thread, let's continue this in some more appropriate thread, if interested. :)

He is a star in making, i hope we dont feck him up, the thing is, we are being linked to so many midfielders that it will be difficult for him to break in unless we sell one of the current ones or maybe carrick plays less than 10 matches next year. His technique and ability in close places is fantastic along with long shots. He could be our midfield maestro but i think jose will buy a guaranteed starter and that might hamper his developement. I just hope we dont lose out on him.

He only has one year left on his contract in the summer, thats worrying. We need to give him a four or five year deal as soon as he is back.

Club has option to extend for 1 more year so he wont go on a free. I do think he wont sign a deal unless he plays or gets some assurances from jose.

Really want him to succeed here, as others have said he reminds of Thiago in a lot of ways. I just want José to just give him a chance at centre mid, I reckon he'd do really well because the problem with him last season to be seemed that he was too good to be arsed in the U23s, now we can see he works his arse off in the La Liga he really does have all the qualities needed to play in the centre of the park.

Also shows we really need to sort out U23s out. The team looks uninspiring to say the least and we really ought to loan more players out and not just to the lower leagues of this country but the upper leagues of others. Just like this loan it could really work and help us filter out who will make it and who won't.

Our future 100k/wk player.

Anyway, hopefully Mou will give him chance to prove his worth, next season. A really proper chance. With Carrick still around, Pereira will have good mentor from a passing maestro.
