Andre Onana made another mistake. Ohnono.

He’s a quality keeper playing in the wrong team and system.

Ball playing GKs are more system dependent than literally another other player.

Put Ederson in this Utd side and the same would happen - put Onana in Guardiola’s City and he’ll shine.

It was idiotic of ETH to bring him in and then proceed to play the same garbage footy conceding a ton of shots.

Shoulda just kept DDG if that was the ‘plan’.
He can't make a fecking save, what are you on about.

People were so blinkered by the possibility of having a ball-playing goalkeeper that they refused to acknowledge concerns regarding whether he can actually stop the ball going in the net.

I'm sorry, ball playing or not most of these shots are straight at him. He has been terrible. It's terrifying.

You have not seen enough of Ederson if you are coming to that conclusion. Ederson may not be prime DDG with his shot stopping but he is still a million times better than the shite which this buffoon is serving up now.

Ive been sticking up for him, but I don't know how much longer I can because nothing right is going for him at the moment.

I have sympathy for gks every error gets magnified x10 when you’re playing in goal and but Onana has been horrendous you just can’t blunder a goal every game this is unacceptable

Can he play left back? Because he can't play as a goalkeeper.

We have been fleeced. Ok to be fair, not having the entire first choice back four out is not easy. DDG sucked at the start too

No he isn't and he's very overrated with the ball at his feet.

Ederson is 10x the shot stopper than the clown we have between the sticks.

I don’t think anyone could’ve imagined this though. I think most fans were fine with him not saving the spectacular saves that Dave made but he can barely keep anything out.

Easily the worst keeper I’ve ever seen play for United, and that’s saying something.

Onana is as good as Ederson is the most ridiculous comparison I've seen here of late. A schoolboy keeper vs an actual world class keeper!

His inability to make one save has nothing to do with a fecking system, that is so ridiculous    . He has been shit. Awful.

Nope, the ridiculous take is to view that Onana is suddenly a crap keeper when playing in this pathetic Utd side.

As I said, put Ederson in this side and the exact same thing will happen. Put Onana in City and he’ll shine.

Anyone with even a basic grasp of football can see this.

He’s the wrong keeper for this Utd side, and it’s rocked his confidence obviously, but he’s well established as a top quality goal keeper.

Ten Hag is silly for choosing Onana again today. There comes a time when you should swing that axe and it had to be today.

If you don't think that axing a starting goalie cannot be done, think twice again. Yesterday in the women's football final at the Asian Games, the North Korean coach subbed the starting goalkeeper off when the game was lost at 4-1. The girl was crying because of the sheer humiliation, but I understand why he did it as the field players gave one last boost even though they didn't score. Regardless, I'm not too harsh when I say that Onana deserves the same fate as that North Korean girl.

Onana is a good goalkeeper but he has completely lost the plot at the moment.

I really think now he's the worst keeper in the PL and the Championship combined.

Weghorst is as good as Haaland. He’s just in the wrong system.

Put Wout in Pep’s City team and he SHINES.

He’s the worst first choice keeper I’ve seen at United and he’ll be the end of Ten Hag. We’re basically starting every game a minimum of one goal behind.

I really don't understand why we bought him at this point. He's doing exactly the same as De Gea was doing. And I'm not talking about his mistakes, I'm talking about what he's doing with the ball. We got Evans passing to him so he can smash it up the field...

This club

Edit:

Taibi made huge errors in three of his four matches for us, including that MOM match.

I guess my broader point is that Taibi was needlessly villified as a historical meme when he actually wasn't that bad. I'm not saying he was peak Schmeichel or anything like that.

The likes of Barthez (too many errors to list), Roy Carroll (probably the worst keeping error in United history v Spurs), De Gea's first year et al. are all examples of United keepers making mistakes. In Barthez's case he was just too short to keep Neuville's shot out during the CL Semi. How about Tim Howard v Costinha (both examples cost us a chance at lifting CLs).

Who would have thought we'd have a more unpopular keeper than Andy Goram.

This is delusion, honestly. The system makes him look bad. Then to top off with the condescension of "anyone with a basix grasp of football can see this"

He wouldn't get into the under 14s I'm coaching the way he's currently playing. Maybe if I switched the system though :lol::lol: Feck me

He’s clearly a better keeper than he’s shown here. He was literally the best keeper in the CL last season, yet he’s had 2 games for us in the CL and has committed to howlers already combined with being poor in the league. Theres no denying he’s been shit so far but there’s clearly much more to it than simply saying he’s a terrible keeper. He’s just another player to add to the list of many that get worse when they put on a Utd shirt.

Confidence is through the floor, take him out for his own good and reintroduce when team form picks up.

What has the system got to do with keeping out simple shots? Onana is full of schoolboy errors, the system has nothing to do with anything.

Yes, he wouldn't have conceded so many with better defenders ahead of him, but those numerous incessant silly errors are indefensible.

You’re just repeating yourself and clearly trolling/wumming at this point

It's not looking good for him. Is this confidence or was he always this porous?
he was always porus. He is a very frustrating GK. One moment he makes world class save and other time he lets one go which his gran could have saved. I blamed him for Ajax exit in CL against Spurs.

Did we watch Onana even once? Or did we, as I suspect is the case, sign him purely on the recommendation of ETH...

It was the CL final and ETH’s wish. They were sure we’re signing a worldclass GK. What a joke of a club we are.

Getting dismantled by Peter in the studio, doing the very basics wrong when trying to save.

Might be our worst ever signing at this rate. Feel sorry for the lad.

I’ve been a big supporter for ETH but Onana is completely on him and ETH will die on that hill the way things are going as that’s 4 big mistakes already this season and we’ve only just got into October, Onana is currently making more mistakes per game that we’re scoring goals per game.

As much of a cnut as Henderson is he offers a fecking lot more than Onana and would have saved us £50 million in the process, if I knew Onana like ETH does having managed him before I’d rather have gone into this season with Henderson and Heaton and also kept Kovar and promoted Vitek.

Ironically enough it's his feet that are the problem when it comes to making saves
He's never properly set meaning he's always late to react and is often having to twist to get his hand into position. There's then no strength in his frame.

Let's be honest he's been shambolic so far

He doesn’t orient himself or move his feet when the ball gets pinged around. That’s just bad technique and he always has to dive to keep out even the tamest shots.

Hes a good keeper but the pressure has got to him along with our absolute shit start....

It's not like we have a golden glove winner in net last season... Change was so desperately needed.
