Probably end up to the tune of Agadoo.

Oh-na-na na na
Our new keeper with the feet
Oh-na-na na na
fecking mental can’t you see

Well, if it's just based on his name, surely it would have be more in tune with Havana by Camilla Cabello?

Could someone come up with a chant?

Onana ooh na na
Half of my heart is Onana ooh na na....
and so on

indeed, and Fab himself credits others when he shares info that someone else got the scoop on before him, granted he posts too much updates and some of them is just repeated stuff with not much of an actual update, but the guy is heavily connected that even other reliable jurnos like Ornstein quote him

He does it when he gets stick for it. For example, recently, @jb8521 broke the Armass deal, Fab with the tap in and when people reacted, he came out and gave credit to JB. He wouldn't have done it if people didn't notice. He does that shit a lot. However, he has great connections and keeps tabs on extremely many leagues so fair play but I understand his critics.

Onana, that's his name, Onana.

To the tune of that new Onana chant.

I think in theory he's a smart signing but Christ, where is the forward planning? This is a guy many people were saying United should have signed for free last summer, now it's £50m and a big chunk of the transfer budget gone when they still need a world class striker.

He’d already agreed with Inter before ETH agreed to become our manager, as widely reported by Sky Italy in December 2021.

Next up: AFCON

I came here to say something precisely like this, we can't keep finding ourselves in situations where we buy a new GK AFTER our #1 leaves. It's been clear as day since a few seasons now that we're in need of a "modern" (for lack of a better word) GK, we planned nothing and ended up spending 50m on a keeper. I'm not unhappy about it, but ideally you want a keeper to displace your #1, not replace him after he leaves.

Hope we improve here, we're going to need our scouts to pull up their socks.

Just his mindset and his approach to games and life in general make me excited for this signing. This is not someone that will go into a shell after a mistake. Hope he excels here and more.

fecking hell people are really obsessed with Romano, somehow not breaking the news first means he is aggregator, indykaila or whatever the shit he is. Ofcourse he doesn't have contacts all over the world but he has got plenty of stories first, David Ornstein mentioned him so many times in the past.

These are just the few posts from last 1 year and there are so many and this is just from one reporter who is also as reliable as they come for transfers.

He obviously has legitimate contacts now, but I think it's the way he presents himself as smartest guy in the room that rubs people up the wrong way. Ornstein has credited Romano where he has broken the story first, Romano always tweets as though it's his exclusive even when another journalist has broken the story first (as Pedulla did last night).

We couldn’t have signed him last summer, he agreed to join Inter months before that.
Even in his thread it’s nothing but posters saying they don’t want him up until Chelsea were linked with him last month so I don’t know where these many people are

Honestly this looks to be a great bit of business, look at how much Liverpool and Chelsea paid for their keepers! Im delighted

Not as good of a shot stopper as de gea, but so much better with his feet and ball distribution. He's a tier below Alisson and Ederson but will definitely take us forward as a modern team.

Any idea on salary? The rumours I've heard have been for 250k/week, given that in Italy they report the figures net.

When Romano tweets exclusives, he adds that in his tweet, Excl. If not, then he isn't calling that transfer as his exclusive or he broke the news.

Also not sure why this is applied only for Romano but not for other journalists. I mean if you are not first to break the story then you are a fraud, that should be logic applied for everyone.

Anyways there should be dedicated thread for Romano as almost every thread we have same posts on him.

Mods should edit the title saying he wasn't available on free transfer last summer. So many people are not even aware of when he signed with Inter.

Extremely happy with this outcome. Given that its only a month or two ago that it looked like we'd be going into a new season with DDG and people were arguing we'd have to spend £60-70M for a new keeper, to get this guy for £42M+bonuses is a great turnup for the books.

If he’s not as good of a shot stopper as Dave as so many of you claim then so many of you are going to hate him fast.

I was told on here that De Gea is not a great shot stopper yet practically every single win last season was by 1 goal with him making a late save to save us.

Agreed...but the really good ones make the fewest

Its not that simple. A progressive keeper is bound to make more mistakes than an ultra-cautious one, but the point is that you gain more overall - the upsides outweigh the downsides. That was the problem with DDG, he was an incredibly cautious goalkeeper, yet he still made mistakes, which is the worst of both worlds.

On the other side of the coing we were facing many shots, too many, due to our keeper not leaving his box and inviting pressure.

It's obvious why. Romano has cultivated a social media presence for himself as the go to man for all things football transfers. And it has worked, fair enough, but a more respected journalist like Ornstein isn't racing to post 'updates', or more accurately, non-updates in a desperate attempt to be the first person to break the story.

He might not be a fraud but he's certainly desperate for the interactions and the clout, which shouldn't really be the primary objectives of somebody who purports to be a journalist.

Maybe your right. I’d feel a lot better if we weren’t a couple of inevitable injuries away from Baz Maguire being the receiver from this guy.

Ornstein and other journalists are not twitter journalists, they are employed by their papers/online media site. Romano is a freelancer and works only on transfers and nothing else.

He really shouldn't be compared with other journalists who covers lot of others things in the game apart from transfers.

Agreed. He isn't a journalist in the traditional sense, he's closer to being an influencer. But whatever his job title, people are well within their rights to call out that person when they're being a bellend.

Right now, there's simply no argument for De Gea being a better shot stopper either.

Not sure how he is being a bellend, always respectful to the even the morons who abuses him.

Ffs, can't someone create a Romano thread and only have Onana updates here.
The deal's done and Onana will be coming on the US Tour later this week. What other updates are you waiting on?
