Turning on him before it's even a done dealio
Allison is overrated.Nah. He'd be like 80-100m if they'd even entertain selling him. I'd put Onana in the tier below Maignan who is up there with Allison as the best in the world. Onana still class though.
Allison is overrated.
Ye we should be aswell after selling them Lukaku and Darmian.
Sanchez too.
He's not. He is up there with the best.Allison is overrated.
I watch Onana with Inter weekly in Serie A and his shot-stopping is not as good as DDG.I reckon you're basing this opinion on something?
Thing is, with the way he plays we'll not face as many shots as with DDG on goal.I watch Onana with Inter weekly in Serie A and his shot-stopping is not as good as DDG.
Maybe EtH will work on this with him.
His footwork and passing is much better whilst taking risks.

He was. Not anytime recently thoughDe Gea is up there with the greatest shot stoppers of all time - no keeper is going to be on the same level as him in that regard. But his deficiencies also led to him having to face more shots than keepers with other strengths.
Yes I thought that but couldn’t remember if he went from us or not. Been all over himYoung aswell.
He was still pulling off worldie saves last season to be fair, but more and more mistakes crept into his game - which may have been a result of him knowing his time at the club was coming to an end.He was. Not anytime recently though

Statistically better at shot-stopping than De Gea last season, though obviously nowhere close to peak De Gea.Are we getting an extra sweeper / playmaker without the good shot-stopping attributes??
He pulled off a few very impressive looking reflex saves whilst conceding goals that he should have saved.
He is average compared to other keepers when it comes to percentage of shots saved and percentage of expected goals saved.
Onana is much better in both statistics.
Allison is overrated.
Absolute hyperbolic nonsense. DDG is and always has been a WC shot stopper. It's definitely better than De Gea's. De Gea's shot stopping has been below average for ages.
You only have to look at last seasons metrics to see how bad De Gea has become at pretty much every aspect of goalkeeping.
We paid £34m for Varane yet we receive substantially less head per pound than Maguire at £80mArguing that Onana's shot stopping isn't as good as de Gea's is like lamenting that Varane's head isn't as big as Maguire's.

It was breaking news yesterday that it was in the final stages, proof if you needed it, journos have absolutely no idea what's going on.
So if he signs in the next couple of days, its proof they don't know what's going on?It was breaking news yesterday that it was in the final stages, proof if you needed it, journos have absolutely no idea what's going on.
Proof of what exactly? We're talking about a deal worth 10s of millions, it's not like buying a packet of biscuits. It was breaking news yesterday that it was in the final stages, proof if you needed it, journos have absolutely no idea what's going on.
I am convinced we will finally sign Onana but Romano and co were so adamant this transfer will be done Wednesday/Thursday.What's your point? It clearly is in the final stages?

As much as I hate them he’s one of the best out thereAllison is overrated.

Tbf it's quite obvious since like two weeks ago.I don't want to defend twitter shite, but they were adamant they were big days for the deal, and yesterday its become blatantly obvious that this will happen....so?
OK, if he signs in the next couple of days, its proof they know what's going on.So if he signs in the next couple of days, its proof they don't know what's going on?
He’s definitely still world class at making routine saves look world class (often due to poor positioning) which never fails to get his fans excited. The rule of thumb I use is whether there would be criticism of a GK if they hadn’t made a particular save - if the answer is yes, then it simply wasn’t a world class save. I’d put a lot of DDG’s recent ‘wonder saves’ in that category. Not last season he wasn't (or the season before). He's still capable of world class saves but doesn't consistently save a higher percentage than an average goalkeeper.
It's a bit like when a striker scores great goals but is not a great goalscorer.
He's a maker of great saves but not a consistently good shot stopper anymore.
