Why doesn't this guy just copy some of his blog entries into redcafe posts. Is it really that hard?
Then people would respond and he'd create discussion - which is the point of the forum.
If he's too high and mighty to spend any time in the newbies then really, why are you fighting about this as he sounds very egotistical.

Before this thread gets shut for going round in circles, can someone explain what the point is in promoting somebody who has refused to post and even declined to log on?
The point would be to enhance the quality of the forum - surely a worthwhile goal?
BTW there is also the suggestion of GCHQ who has posted in the newbs and also made some useful contributions via PM.

Regardless of how much he knows. It makes a mockery of the system to promote people who haven't made any effort to be promoted. Some of the people down there are on 5/6,000 posts for fecks sake... Why should any one get such special treatment. If he got promoted on the basis of what I have heard in this thread I would feel it was unjust.

They're in the newbies for a reason if they have 5 or 6 thousand posts.

As has been said repeatedly, it might be worthwhile if he posted in the Newbies to start with.
I will look at GCHQ but as there isn't much more to be said, this thread has run it's course.
I have to say that I have had a pleasant exchange of emails with Andy, and explained why it would be bad for the newbie forum if we fast-tracked him with zero posts. I've asked him to write a couple of topics and then we can look at it again. I know that he's a busy chap so i'll leave it up to him.

Can't say fairer than that Geebs...been said before though so lets hope he's prepared to work through the Newbie system this time.
