I've never liked him and I don't understand those who do. basically, he doesn't exist despite being on our books. sometimes I think of him as a club's mascot, but even mascots have purpose, he doesn't. embarrassing "player".

Youse anti-Anderson naysayers have obviously never become obsessed with the sublime piss-taking backheel nutmeg of the 'orrible Cesc or the tackle on Gerrard I think it was, that the rest of us recall so often and with such great fondness. And there was also a goal or rumours exist about a goal (he was never what you'd call prolific though, tbf)

It might still be worth fighting off the queue of clubs who want to take him off our hands and he seems to quite like Manchester and messing around with Fred the Red which is always the cause of amusement & mirth in our house.

Can't understand the sentimentality surrounding Anderson; he has practically stolen a living from our club and has wasted his chance at the big time.

But, but he's such a 'loveable' character and he once 'dominated' Fabregas, don't ya know. Surprised Chelsea went for Cesc instead of Ando.

Ridiculous the way people carry on when it comes to him. He's absolute dross and we have to get rid.

He's the type of bloke who'd rather be off chasing the women in some seedy celebrity nightclub than to knuckle down and focus on becoming a better player

Looks like he will become our midfield savior after all.

Second Man Utd star on the verge of Old Trafford exit in £5.5m move to Sporting Lisbon
MANCHESTER UNITED outcast Anderson may finally be on the verge of ending his Old Trafford misery with a £5.5m move to Sporting Lisbon.

Reports claim the Brazilian is wanted by the Portuguese outfit who are willing to stump-up the cash to sign him before the transfer window closes in 13 days time.

Lisbon have already secured the services of the much maligned Nani with the added bonus of United paying his £4.8m wages.

This can't be real

Lets keep him on as the court jester. He can do corporate entertainment along with team morale.

If I see him in the starting lineup because of these injuries I'm liable to have no throat left.

It's sad that injuries have hampered his career. But he should have been moved on a long time ago. He contributes nothing on the pitch.

He might have to play Sunday. He'll put in a MOTM performance and buy himself a little more time.

That's pure nonsense!

Anderson has been our best central midfielder bar Carrick. He was actually having the season of his life in 12/13 season until he got injured after scoring a goal against Reading(i think).

You're right

But for 7 years of constantly being injured, Anderson could gave been a sight to behold. He's put in some fine performances during his reign at Old Trafford

2 or 3, I believe.

what a player he could have been. I don't say he could match scholes but in terms of talent I think he was even better talent than Paulie. He just didn't fullfil his potential. I think that it wasn't particularly bad move from Alex to convert him into box-to-box midfielder. He was all made to be the best in that position and had all attributes to do it. I hate one think on these forums... Yeah we wll make fun of him as he is laughable guy but some people really think that he is lazy fat bastard which he is not and never was and was never the reason that he didn't fulfill his potential. The 95% reason for it was always his injury problems. Look how speedy he was when he came, now he is third that pace player. What a beast he could have been. Shame, really shame, I would pay 30m for that kind of 18year old player immediately if I had the the money from my pocket.. he was always miles ahead of cleverley in terms of potential.

They won't pay £5.5m for him. It's a lot of money to Sporting and he's probably worth half of that, to be fair we could let him go for free.

Potentially part of the circumnavigation of the Rojo third party ownership. When combined with the nani deal it'd essentially be the equivalent of Ando going on a free. Works our better from FFP perspective too I expect.

Do you not think that it's linked to us paying Nani's wages, so essentially it's a free transfer!
And what he's worth is very subjective, Side show Bob wasn't worth £50 but there ya go.....

Gutted that Ando didn't work out here (literally lol).. He had some great performances early on and showed so much potential. Unfortunately injuries and a poor work ethic got the better of him.

He was a brilliant talent. And the weird part is that when he joined he actually looked like one of those natural footballers, for whom football seemed so easy. I remember the fa cup game against arsenal where Nani and him tore them apart. You would have thought that he was a talent that simply nothing could stop from materialising into a top top player, had you just gone on that game and the general talent he was displaying. Such a shame it didn't work out. Injured played their part but so did, you feel, his application and attitude. He could have been among the schweinstigers, kroos and vidals of is world.

His potential really was frightening when he first arrived. I remember him pinging long passes to the wing as an 18 year old with such consummate ease, and the feeling among fans was "Paul scholes, who?".

When you think about it he was very very assured for an 18 year old. And had the brute force to compliment the skill, which he had plenty of then as well unlike recent times.

I'm reminiscing aren't i? Oh well , we've got Januzaj now I guess.

Absolutely! He did really take the game to Fabregas and Gerrard in those matches - he was brilliant. I also loved his surging runs from the middle of the park (Attacking the space!) although I can't remember that anything came out of those runs.

Yes, Adnan is our new pet now
