Ander Herrera to PSG? | Gone.

When all the dust settles, we will probably hear that his wages are something around 150k at PSG. Though it wouldn't stop people from claiming that it is not real wages and PSG is paying their players outside of the books.

:lol::lol:

Despite reports being that he's paid £300k???

He didn't want to stay and followed the money, there's nothing wrong with that but let's just accept it shall we?
Every reliable report mentions <€150k, except one article from Mirror... You can believe what you want.

People are mad that we signed Alexis to the ridiculous wages we did but are upset we didn’t pay up to keep Herrera.

Which way do people want it because you can’t pick both sides. £300k for a fringe starter

Look at what Evra said on the Sky interview with Neville. When a player starts thinking about United only for the money, that’s when they’re not fit to even be in the conversation to be a Red. Don’t get me wrong money is a big thing but United should never be used to start bidding wars or demand more than a players worth...if that’s the case, sayonara.

What did you expect? He is joining them on a free, of course he will have signing up bonus which will be split and added into wages. We couldn't and shouldn't have matched it NOW of course as we are too late, should have extended his contract at least a season ago.

2 weeks back, "reports" claimed that he was getting 200k at PSG. Reports keep changing all the time. And different sources calculate the salaries differently. Some like to add all bonuses including the "if he gets a Ballon D'Or" kind of bonuses which is never gonna happen.

He didn't want to stay and followed the money, there's nothing wrong with that but let's just accept it shall we?
I don't mind him getting 300k or don't mind if it was only money that motivated him to leave or the sorry state of the club and the football we play that motivated him to leave or it was a combination of all factors. After all a footballer has only one career and can't please everyone.

But I just don't think that PSG will pay him 300k, however laughable we think that club is.

I still can’t believe we’re letting this leader go

I hate that he's leaving, because I really like Herrera... but I have to say that if we assume the rumours of De Ligt, Wan-Bissaka and James etc. are true... he won't fit the model Ole wants in a year or two. I wanted him to stay, but we have to be ruthless, because our rivals will be.

He fits it perfectly. High energy, high pressing, quick passing.

He's a good player and i'm sad he's leaving but if its true he wanted £300,000k per week then its the right decision. He's almost 30 and while he may have been first choice under Ole it's not guaranteed as he's never been a nailed on starter in 5 years at the club.

had we extended 18 months ago - which we should have - 300k offers/demands wouldn't have been a thing

We messed this one up sadly

It's not really hindsight. He was our POTY in 16/17 and deserved a contract extension, on the back of that season.
People saying he is off he wage bill, he was on peanuts compared to some and now we have to pay a higher wage and a fee to get someone else and we still have, apart from Pogba an underwhelming midfield.

He followed the money. Loves the club though

All of our players follow the money. Look at what they are being paid here. We have one of the most bloated wage structures around, we're paying our squad like they're winning the league.

And yet Ander was underpaid.

It's funny how they this is only an issue now. Not when a born and bred basque footballer basically forced his way out to move to United in the first place.

Exactly. He wanted to play for us. He would be on better money here, but their players won't be on too bad money there. Their good players get financially rewarded. He wanted to win things. I really don't begrudge him one last big contract.

We’ve been negotiating with him for over 2 years. It requires more than one signature.

Most overrated player in this team. Not one Spain manager preferred him over years because he is simply not good enough.Dani Parejo,Sergio Canales,Ceballos are picked over him and they are only good players who would never play in a top team and how many midfielders went through and play for Spain and he was never picked because he is just not on a top club level.

What a drama for a player of his worth. He was in talks two years for a new contract, its not he wasnt offered but he wanted wages which were too high,we didnt want to kneel to those demands for a 30 year old player, declining and made a right choice of saying thank you and goodbye.

He’s gone, I’m over it , most people are over it which shows he wasn’t that good. As good as we have at the moment which isn’t saying much.

I wasn't questioning if he fits it now, I meant to question if he will 2 years time? It was rumoured to be a 4 year contract he's been offered at PSG & he has had almost constant injury niggles through his time here. I don't think he should have been the one let go, but perhaps we won't be renewing contracts like Rojo & Jones (again) with Ole as our permanent manager... I don't know.

It’s just frustrating. We extend Jones and let Herrera go. It should really be the other way around.

What does one have to do with the other? The two situations aren’t even remotely related. Unless Phil Jones was also looking for a massive pay increase, which I doubt.

People still banging on about Herrera? My god you’d think it was Bryan Robson who just left us.

Compared to what is left behind like Young , Lingard , Smalling , Jones , Rojo etc etc , he is.

At least 10 players should have been using the exit before him
